Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

I don't know if this has already been postponed, but i see that there're not contrails whatsoever on Boeing, jet, Airbus. After reaching TAT -8°/-10° displayed on the EICAS there should be contrails. Nothing.

I could not believe when I first did a sightseeing flight over at Bora Bora. Just to remind you how it was shown in the advertising "Oceania" trailer by MS/Asobo: And that is how it really looks in the sim with everything on "ultra", streamed: Or everything on "ultra" with manually downloaded the island and surroundings using the highest possible quality: That is ridiculous and I put a HUGE questionmark on any preview video now. Seems that they improve the scenery drastically for their previews and we get a lower quality in the sim... really disappointed.

Whenever I apply either brake pedal while taxing it stays locked On. If I apply both they both stay locked On and it is as though my parking brake is engaged. When only one locks the plane pulls in that direction. I don’t use any AI assist and it happens on ALL aircraft every time I use the sim. The MFG pedals that are assigned to axis commands worked fine for over a week then all of sudden this issue arose. I have cleared the assignment and reassigned them but that didn’t help. The only way to fix it is to toggle the parking brake On and then toggle it back Off every time I apply brakes to keep the aircraft moving. I have filed this issue with the Zendesk but was wonderi…

Hi all Currently have page file on C drive nvme where the Sim is also installed, have 64 gig ram and a spare nvme that's hosting the rolling and manual cache, could it be beneficial to move it to this drive and go from automatic and increase to 64 gig, probably make no difference just curious if anybody has tried with positive results

Is there an aircraft that is the most realistic, most visually appealing etc.. that stands out above the rest? E.g. the TBM?

Been flying for about 24 hours now in total, around the world in different locations and everywhere I see height errors in rivers, lakes, roads, pyramid shape mountains popping out of nowhere etc. How did they even consider this simulator to be release worthy or even a beta candidate ? I understand that the ai plays big part in it, but they should have atleast checked the state of the scenery before releasing. Mostly it looks good and is ok, but from where I have flown to the errors in scenery are immersion breaking and totally dont justify this being a full priced AAA release at this stage.Counting even the numerous other bugs and aviation related bugs, this is…

Thought that was pretty cool, you can see the eye and rotation, if I am not mistaken. It seems like the weather is not downloaded when actually flying though, as clear skies in Cancun international.

For fun I tried changing the month in FS today, and to my utter disappointment, the trees and grass remain green all year long! Sure, I can put some snow on the ground, but stunning autumns was something even the old FS2000 could deliver, so I don't understand why there are no seasons in this new version. I sure hope this is either a bug or incomplete feature to be added later, because no autumn would be sad, and winter doesn't look right just by putting snow on bright green grass and trees... Speaking of trees, I also have no evergreens, despite those being abundant in my region. Are evergreens even in this new sim, or are all trees deciduous? What do you guys in tr…

Sadly it appears I need to re-install the game and would prefer to not have to redo everything again with regard to all my peripherals. Currently stuck at the "Press Any Key" screen that just loops. I had to do a System Restore for another reason and now FS is hosed. Why? Who knows.

Well, I finally returned from vacation & tried to install the sim of the Microsoft Store, unfortunately, I'm also struggling, After 35 GB of download it froze and upon restarting, the press any key to continue splash screen keeps on looping, I've tried everything I think, disabling firewall, antivirus, windows is up to date, I must've installed/uninstalled the 1 GB installer 10 times already, I'm at loss regarding what to do next.... Looked for Youtube tutorials & followed instructions on Zendesk, nothing works.

Is anybody else noticing any discrepancies with the logbook. Most of my flights aren’t even in my logbook. Should have several flights with hours of flights but they aren’t in my logbook. Nothing in 6 days

Has anyone else experienced this? Far from the biggest issue, I know, but a bit frustrating. For a bit of fun, I flew over 55 NM upside down in the Pitts (takes a bit of getting used to!), but my total distance flown upside down remains at zero metres. I wonder how many other stats are shown incorrectly? (FYI, I was wondering how close I might be to the real world record until I saw it was 4 hours and 38 minutes and 658 miles!!!😶

My install of FS2020, other than the typical bugs, has been solid from a performance standpoint. I then realized I bought FaceTrackNoIR a few years ago and decided to give it a shot. I installed the latest version, but it just wouldn't work so I gave up (before even going into FS). I then decided to go on a flight and launched FS. Everything went downhill from there. Content Manager - CORE CONTENT shows a message "RELAUNCH THE GAME TO UPDATE" I quit to desktop and restart the Game but see the same message - Is there a special 'RELAUNCH" procedure? Content Manager will not let me Toggle the Core Content row in order to see Version History and Dependencies - is that normal for the Core? Steam Download

Apologize if this has been asked and answered, but I just scrolled through the Tips & Tricks forum and through over 40 pages here scanning titles. Is there a setting or way to change the default location where flight plans are stored? So far all I have been able to do to manage moving files into the directory was to create a desktop shortcut to the current location.

I've just checked the metar for honolulu and its reporting: PHNL 261753Z 08012KT 10SM FEW025 FEW050 27/19 A3000 RMK AO2 SLP159 T02720194 10278 20250 53015 12KTS but in the sim its like showing 2KTS. No wonder I don't see much activity in the ocean, hardly any waves or white caps.

Ive downloaded the latest nvidia driver and set the fps to 30 for the MSFS application, yet in game it jumps between mid 30s to low 50s during a test im doing. What is the recommended way to limit fps in msfs? Do I need vsync turned on in ncp to make the fps limiter work?

I've installed three ORBX airports and they all appear in the Community folder and work as advertised in the Sim. But - they do not appear in Content Manager. Does Content Manager only deal with Steam (in my particular case) distributed content? As more payware and freeware becomes available - will Content Manager be "improved" to manage all content?

I am tinkering around with my settings and I can't seem to find something that looks good and performs well. Granted, I am only 2 days in but nothing that I have seen so far for me looks like anything that i have seen on youtube or posted here. Am I doing something wrong? The scenery to me looks like it is default and not photo. I have a lot of time to mess around with it since there aren't any good tubeliners yet and that is primarily what I fly. OMG, I'm off in the TPM930 or whatever it's called, out of KRNO, beautiful! I even lowered realism to FSX choice, and still it's just rocking side to side as if in extreme turbulence with no stabilizer of any kind. Engaging the autopilot did settle much of anything down either, in fact I'm not sure it engaged as the button did not illuminate. Flown FSX/P3D forever, but this thing is just bizarre! It was the same w/ the Cessna 172 only less severe. In a word, it's AWFUL to fly, which is a shame I'd love to actually fly and enjoy the scenery! Any tips greatly appreciated!
