MSFS2020 has CTD twice now, every time i go into event log it says virtual memory. i have 16gb of ram ddr4. flying the 787 LFPG. "Microsoft Defender SmartScreen prevented an unrecognized app from starting." I'm baffled that the SDK for MICROSOFT Flight Simulator is not recognized by Microsoft Windows. I downloaded the SDK by clicking on the appropriate menu from inside the game itself, so it should be the real deal. Anybody else encounter this issue? Of course I can "run anyway", but I just want do so with a clear conscience, LOL. Perhaps it's because I haven't done a Windows Update in awhile that it isn't recognized, or perhaps this is just another oversight that we grow to expect from Microsoft. 🤷‍♂️ Thoughts?

I am 6'7'' tall and therefore accustomed to a fairly high viewpoint in real planes- but you can be a lot shorter and nevertheless notice that the standard viewpoints of the standard cockpit camera a far too low - you can't see the runway in most of the planes when lining up, let alone on final with nose up attitude. And when you "tune" the camera to a realistic viewpoint, the cockpit geometry in a lot of planes prevents you from looking at crucial instruments. Have a look at this guy here. He has set up a fairly realistic point of view, and look at the MFD - you can't even see essential information as torque and ITT on the MFD. Even if you set your POV a little…

Hi all - anyone find that even with a decent Joystick (i.e. not a Saitek Yoke) and even after reducing sensitivity that aircraft such as the Longitude tends to be rather unstable on takeoff and flare? Makes it very hard to fly!

I have mapped Numberpad 0 to "load custom camera 0" When I click on numberpad 0 once, I get a different screen and then pressing numberpad 0 again will give me my saved screen. Hi All, I am loving the new SIM it's not perfect I am sure it will be in time. I am using a joystick and throttle just a budget on, worked fine in FSX and FS9 but in MS2020 having spent allot of time adjusting sensitivity and trying to get it working correctly it is still really sensitive. I have been trying to setup the custom camera views which I can access with the keyboard (CRTL 1-0), which I like, but when I try to set say custom view 2 to a joystick button and although it accepts it, when I get back in the plane (Cessna 152) nothing happens when I press that button. I really like these custom views in the Cessna, but don't like having to press two keys on the keyboard. I can map other functions to buttons Flaps, Trim etc which work fine. Are we just stuck with the KB for these views, or am I doing something wrong. I have been validating and saving each new assignment. Thanks for looking.

We know Google Earth photogrammetry is much better than Bing Map. We also know that Microsoft will never use Google Earth because they want to promote Bing. But what if third parties managed to extract photogrammetry from Google Earth and add it to MSFS ? I have found this video tutorial which demonstrates that it is possible:

Decided to take a break from fixing some of the Alaska terrain bugs and take a shot at Iceland since it seems to be hit harder with them. The file contains numerous fixes to a lot of the water terrain issues and changes to tree locations to make they better fit with how Iceland actually looks. I used a map of Icelands forested areas as a guide on where trees should and shouldn’t be. I will try to keep updating this as well until an official fix is out. I have allocated 244 GB rolling cache and visited many cities in low altitudes (with drone), to download the areas. It seems to update the rolling cache during every exit. Then, I wanted to test the rolling cache and set the sim offline. When I loaded the same areas and visited with the same altitudes (with drone), there were only generic buildings and not the same photo-imagery buildings in that areas. I was expecting to see photo-imagery buildings as I taught I have downloaded them already to the rolling cache. Any ideas? Thanks in advance...

Hello. I have a newer 50" Samsung TV as a monitor that is currently set at 3840 X 2160 / 60P. I have searched the internet trying to determine if this is in fact a true 4K, and now I am really confused as to whether it is or is not. The reason I ask is that running this sim at ULTRA settings, I don't think my image quality in sim is up to the quality of some 4K YouTube videos I view. I know stutter is a problem with some people, however I don't have that and therefore it doesn't add into the equation fortunately. Any help and or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hi Guys Found this helpful AI without black rectangles as call sign and also installing one livery at a time - for me its more work but I'm not loading a ton of livery's I would not be interested in Kudos to repainters - seems this go around there is a lot more interest in driving this sim forward at an early stage - which is awesome

I finally downloaded the SDK (settings > general > developer mode, go to toolbar, help, download SDK). I loaded into the sim with it, created a new project / package, and chose "Scenery Editor." When I did this, the entire existing airport scenery disappeared and I was essentially left to start from scratch. How can I simply edit the existing scenery? I just want to edit taxiway sign naming / placement.

What is the optimum VSync Nvidia setting for the 1070 w 8 GB . They must have updated the driver so options people have selected in other posts aren’t there in the list of choices. I think it is set to Managed by 3D application or something like that. I am getting a constant 30-35 FPS when FS 2020 is not loading and rendering scenery. Then it drops to 11-15 and has stutters. Hi guys Needing some advice on the best way to spot grass landing strips. I've started the 2nd Bushpilot scenario where I fly in a C172 from Serbia (i think) to Greece over 14 legs. No Gps just visual flighting it making it a good way to learn visual navigation. All was going well until the end of the first leg when I suddenly realised that all i had was grass for miles everywhere and in amongst it was a landing strip. I flew around until I spotted painted marker lines, so after a turn around landed in one piece. But is this normal (IE: flying around until I spot it from the air) or would there be earlier markers I've missed or something else to keep an eye out for. …

I'm not seeing many boats on the Puget Sound or anywhere else I have the slider on 80. Wonder if the water masking is hiding them? Really loving the sim though.

Is it possible to cast or send a panel, like the VFR map panel, over to an iPhone? I thought I saw somewhere that you could do it to an iPad but can't seem to locate the article. Is this possible and if so what software is needed?

Are the beachfront condos and hotels at your favorite location looking the way they should or are they really short? I've only checked two locations that Im familiar with and one is way off and the other seems better but still a bit off. These are autogen buildings and its a back burner issue as far as Im concerned. just curious what you've seen. PS: Ocean City MD and Gulf Shores AL are where Im most familiar with.

If I want to preserve what's in the current community folder before the update comes, why can't I move it somewhere else? It's not letting me move the folder. Thanks Duane
