Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

So what do I have to do to get this to work? In game settings are a mess. I dont have tuner or anything like that just the Nvidia CP. Doing a global setting of v sync adaptive half refresh doesnt work. The game still runs at a high FPS based on FRAPS. How does this work??

Purchased Deluxe Premium yesterday from the Microsoft store. This is not a rant or complaint, just looking for some advise as to which way to go next. I knew my system was maybe hi-mid range, but was very close to the recommended requirements. This is not firing shots at the sim, it looks like a great one, unfortunately I took a chance and it's just not working out for me. After 4 attempts to open the Simulator this AM. All took 21 minutes plus just to get to the Welcome menu screen. One of those times the menu froze and I had to shut down the program. As soon as i began the takeoff roll the G1000 goes out, either aircraft. Any idea what may cause this? John

Every time I hit F9 to pause my trackir so I can zoom in on a certain location in the cockpit after about 5 seconds the sim resets the camera to the forward view. I have been unable to figure out why it keeps doing this. I have rebound my trackir pause key to something different and it still keeps doing it. Is this a bug that anyone else is seeing?

The "Checking for Updates" screen did come on, then the program settled on the main screen (where we choose flights, or other tabs). That said... I searched further and went to the "Contact Manager" screen. The first entry at the top showed this: "Core Content... Mandatory Package... by Asobo Studio...Relaunch the game to update ... 79.80 GIB." There was nothing to click on in this section or on that screen to relaunch the game. I finally turned on multiplayer last night as well as left live traffic on. reason being as with just live traffic on I really was not seeing a hole lot of any AI traffic. im starting to think the Flightaware Ai traffic isn’t being maximized to what the real world traffic congestion is going on at any given moment. so the Live players experience is mixed, I seen quite a few pilots flying properly, using the correct runways etc, but also seen idiots doing word not allowed things which kinda throws off the immersion. also not sure if live players on same ATC frequency is working as I didn’t see anyone using it on my end. overall rea…

My computer quit working and I’m not flying but I’ve been watching a lot of YouTube videos. The trees look a lot a like. How is it really? Do the trees vary to the area you fly in? Palm trees in Florida?

FSX ran optimally at 30 FPS, so can someone explain to me why when everyone keeps talking about high framerates, just why Flight Simulator 2020 would run better at higher frame rates going up to 60 or 80+.

Planning a VOR to VOR flightplan, MSFS gives me all the frequencies. But the NavLog during flight doesn´t. It shows only waypoints, course and ETE. Do I miss something? PS: No garmin etc on board. Alex

u/m1ss1ontomars2k4 from Reddit found out that the 2D instrument refresh rate is synced with the monitor refresh rate. By reducing the refresh rate of 2D instrument panels, users see improved FPS in the cockpit. However, tinker at your own risk because of potential side effect. This is my first post; nice to meet everyone.

Possible, but only if you go with render scale 50% It looks much better than true 1920x1080 but not quite as good as true 3840x2160 On some days I will fly at 30 FPS Ultra 4k On other days I will fly at 60 FPS High upscaled 4k

Hi all, so it seems like they are leaving it to the 3rd partys to tweak the flight model. my only worry is there will be inherent problems with the base flight model which will be hard to overcome. It’s the only thing that could stand in the way of mfs2020 being what I always hoped it would be. i hope the 3rd parties will have enough freedom with the sdk and adobo can iron out any major problems before it’s too late rant over, can’t wait for next week!!!!

Has Microsoft been pushing out little updates behind the scene? I've noticed the aircraft aren't as sensitive as they were before... But as of about 24 hours ago, my sim performance has degraded to almost being unusable. I've been running 4k on Ultra, in high density areas and storms with no issues. Now, I can't even pan the view from the lag and stutter! No other updates or changes on my PC.

My theory: When you load the sim and select real world weather and start flying it downloads the real weather to the sim. It then never updates the weather again. Instead it uses meteoblue forecasts to change the weather as time passes by in the sim world. Since it is a forecast going forwards it may become more inaccurate as time passes. I suspect they did it this way for multiplayer reasons so everyone sees the same weather. If your friend is flying 30 miles ahead of you then you will see the same weather when you reach his location since you are all using the same weather. Can't really do that if you update the real world weather outside of the zone you are flying…
