I've seen this in more than one aircraft. In the Cessna Citation, Cessna Caravan and TBM, for example. You have the autopilot on with Altitude and Navigation modes. Flying along; whistling a little tune; everything fine. Switch to Heading mode with the heading bug on the current heading. It follows the heading bug, but over time and/or after a different heading is dialed in, the aircraft gets in situation where the heading is being tracked but the rudder is deflected to the point where the turn coordinator is practically fully deflected left, or right. This isn't right. It's like the autopilot is using the rudder only to track the heading bug. Has anyone seen th…

I’ve moved from my X55 stick to a Honeycomb yoke, and no longer have a rudder axis available as I was using the twist of the stick. No worries, I’ll just enable auto rudder until I can get some pedals. After trying all the different options, it doesn’t seem to work. I’ve tried mapping the on/off, toggle and set functions, but nothing really seems to do anything. Any clues or ideas?

  3. Started by Lotharen,

Finally I caved and tried out a new aircraft! Bout time, right? My last flight ended at KISM near Disney World. While I was at work the last two days I decided I would try taking off from the water (can't remember the airport, was listed as private) and fly to Boca Raton (KBCT). So last night I picked the only natural choice, the Icon A5. This is a pretty slick looking aircraft, the dash reminded me more of a car than a plane and the model looked great as well. The airport I chose looked like it was in the water, however when I loaded in I found myself on land just outside of where it looked like I would start. Was a little disappointed but shrugged it off and started the…

  4. Up until yesterday every plane I flew always pulled left, or had constant issues with trim. It didn't matter if I was taxiing or flying i constantly had to adjust for it. Then out of the blue everything flies straight and true but we had no update so what had changed. After checking all my settings (I fly med difficulty) I realised I had somehow turned off all the in game assists dealing with flight controls (inc rudder and trim assists) and what a difference it had made for me. Felt like a whole new experience. It flew straighter and true, trim was working, and I could actually take my hand from the tca stick. So if you are having similar control issues g…

Hey guys Im finding it a little more difficult setting up the MSFS flight control assignments, it was so easy in fsx/p3d, I have a saitek throttle, I want to be able to pull down on the throttles you know past that detent to put it in reverse what input is it? I thought it was RX or RY,( so confusing) also once I have that figured out do I assign it to Hold Throttle REV Thrust or Toggle? Im sure I will get this down eventually but probably invest in fsuipc again one the simconncet issues are sorted out. Thanks

  6. So i was editing some planes to fix some of the Autopilot issues i had when i came across the B58 and i turned out that there are no individual files for engines, flight model etc. in the folders. Can someone confirm this so i can figure out if this is a problem of my installation or a general one? Thanks in advance! Tom

  7. Started by Rucki,

I just tried this plane for the first time and couldnt get the plane to climb to Fl310. I tried it with FLC mode and with VS mode but nothing worked. Somehow the plane climbed very slowly to FL190 with something like vs +700 to +1000 (constantly changing idk why) and then leveled out. I tried also Auto throttle on and manual throttle with no success. I had no problems with the Zibo 737 in Xplane and also no problems with the Airbus in MSFS2020. Is the failuire on my site or is the Autopilot just not working in the 747 in MSFS2020 ?

  8. Started by March Hare,

I tried an IFR flight this evening with live weather/time of day, so there was a lovely crimson sunset at take-off in the Cessna 152. I was making my way to Cosford, and successfully followed ATC's instructions (after initial confusion, and changing my requested runway for the simple fun of trying out some ATC options), passing through the waypoints to reach my destination. I arrived at Cosford and was given clearance to land on runway 6. Then I flew round in circles. For a long time. I couldn't, for the life of me, find the runway. ATC had gone silent. I'm guessing there are no runway lights at Cosford, at least on runway 6 (if any real UK pilot knows?) But is …

Hi, Not sure if I am doing this correctly but every time I took the aircraft to the air and engage A/P in GPS/FMS mode (with CDI properly switched to GPS or FMS), AND the flight plan properly activated (path in red/magenta color), the A/P always points the aircraft to almost 360/North in NAV mode. Allow me to say that as a 15 year simmer (mostly airliners like PMDG and FSLabs stuff) with FSX and P3D4, so far FS2020 has been a major disappointment to me - controls are weird, views are counterintuitive and aerodynamics and systems - eh dont get me started.

  10. Using the G1000's in planes like the DA40NG I've noticed adding say an approach to my already loaded VFR plan will sometimes add a USR waypoint and many times it's like 5-10 miles back the other direction. How, or is it even possible, to edit this and delete that USR waypoint? I tried hitting "CLR" and that wiped out the whole flightplan. During a flight last night that happened, and while trying to fix it I managed to apparently bug it out and cause a CTD which was very frustrating at the end of an hour flight and I had to bail for the night as I was landing basically just before calling it a night and going to bed.

  12. I did not know what the italians did to their landscape. Honestly never been there, never looked at it. So when I wanted to go from Lake Garda to Venice I had to cross this region. I fly using landmarks only and Alt+Tab to Bing Maps in browser, no compass, no GPS. Works really well in 99% of the world, not in this mosaic of a landscape. Mental note: never go there in real life. https://imgur.com/2xNOO8o https://imgur.com/5IYSrUs

  14. There have been several posts related to a freeware F/A 18 available for MSFS2020.. TMK, this is the model from FSX and it is piracy to distribute it as freeware. Posts that show yoou how to take YOUR copy of a FSX a/c and port it to MSFS2020 are fine but information and/or links to other ports is not. Thanx!

  15. Say about MSFlight (2012) what you want, but the missions were EPIC and that activities like daily Aerocache hunt and the best: Jobboard Like a built-in FSEconomy, but more live and interactive. I really miss those activities! MSFS 2020 has a lot of bugs and misssing features, but is still awesome. But it in addition it needs something that keeps me/us engaged. MSFlight did it -although all its flaws- with these epic and engaging and motivating activities. It kept me and a lot others people bonded to that sim years after it died. And it brought a lot of fresh casual gamers into the flightsim world. I know there is this GAME - SIMULATOR issue... but everyb…

  16. So this person from Reddit is working on a 737-400 for MSFS: It will be interesting to see how far this person gets and whether this 737-400 will match the quality of the A320 that is also being developed by the community (the A320 is still being worked on and developed, even though there is a playable version of it at the moment).

So, l loaded up the Solo Pattern Practice mode in a Cessna 152. Using the graphic settings I have read in this forum, turned on the dev mode and I fiddled with the settings until I’m getting 65-75 fps sitting on the runway, default view (with occasional micro-stutters). After that, I locked Vsync to 60 and voila! Smooth as silk simulation even with the A320 but dev mode showing fps at 30. Using a 4k tv my pc usage are as follows: Rendere…

  19. Hi guys, I ran few tests on the Sim at all types of flights measuring the FPS both with NVIDIA HUB FPS counter and with the MSI afterburner / RivaTuner Statistics and I got to conclusion that the FPS shown is not the real FPS and misleading numbers (at least in my case) when using external FPS counter tools. when using the developer mode FPS counter, it seemed to be more accurate and make more seance. here are the details of the use cases i ran and why I have reached to this conclusion. 1. i flown into downtown New York, dodging between the buildings on my DA40 in order to get the most FPS impact i could and even though my FPS showed being 32FPS at most…

In order to keep my controller settings and profiles, what do I have to do to move them over from one computer to another? Also, what happens to the Community folder and the files in there which I must keep? I have the boxed premium deluxe version, which has been running on a lower specification, while now have a new computer. The install is happening now, hence my request. Thanks Martin

I've noticed that if I'm flying and using the autopilot, doesn't seem to matter which plane, that if I put the sim in pause when I come back the plane is completely uncontrollable and crashes after about 5 minutes of trying to recover. Anyone else having the problem or have I got something set up wrong, thanks!

  22. First of all, sorry the errors. English is not my native language. My specs: I7 3.8GHz, GTX 1070, 16gb ram, SSD With this specs I can play o DCS and X-Plane 11, both in High Settings with +40 fps. Very fluid on the eyes. I installed FS2020 and on the first start, it detected that the recommended settings to my system was very high. I tried and it the stutters started! After that I tried high, and medium graphics. I tried literally hundreds of "solutions"... from make the FS2020 the secondary window, to limit the FPS, to choose planes with less screens, I desativate v-sync, I ativate V-sync, manual cache, rolling cache, no cache... seriously..…

Not going to go into the whys and wherefores of my decision, other than to say if circumstances change, I may rebuy in the future. This query refers to the Steam removal process for the sim, does it clean all the files or, as the main install was from the MS server, does this need to be purged separately? If so, where are the files located? Thanks.

  24. Hello All, I'm looking at putting together a high spec PC for my father, an avid FSX fan, so he can use/play FS 2020. Unfortunately though, he his internet speeds are only slightly above 5Mbps. I appreciate the minimum bandwidth requirement for FS 2020 is 5Mbps, but I am hoping there are members here in a similar position (with slow internet speeds) who can can tell me what their real experiences have been like using/playing FS 2020. Needless to say, building a high spec PC will be a costly so I want to make sure he will be able to use/play it. Many thanks in advance, JC
