Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

I enjoy flying the TBM and noticed that the Garmen on the TBM will only show other planes in your vicinity while flying with Live traffic, but if you change it to AI traffic only, other traffic doesn't appear. I"m assuming this is a bug, but wanted to see if others had thoughts.

Lots to fix in this sim but credit where credit is due: kudos to MS for getting this close to the real thing on such a complex system in a default plane IMHO. Not per PMDG standards of course and it doesn’t follow the textbook in all respects but it got the thing on the ground safely for me in a flight from EGLL to EHAM. What I did: manually set ILS frequency in the CDU. Approach rwy 18C from the north east, ignoring the chart and reaching OA at a shallow angle (approx 220 degrees) , 2000ft, HDG SEL with LOC armed (this engaged all three autopilots) at 180knots. Hello, I tried opening Flight sim today and was asked what looks like an update. When I click yes it wont load and gives me this error. It looks like when trying to update, its looking at the default directory C:. But I have it installed on a another SSD drive. Even if I clickYes or No to the user access control option, the game still shows the error and wont load. I have attached pictures. Any help is appreciated.

Hi All Hope everyone is enjoying the new sim. I like, many I believe, have found the new Camera views to be quite challenging to get to grips with. Could someone please guide me to which Commands I need to use to achieve 360 degree panning around the exterior of the aircraft aircraft - both on the ground and in flight? Also in trying to map incremental flaps retraction/deployment of flaps to my Warthog HOTAS throttle I cant make the assignment bind? Many thanks

As title, I noticed that in every area that makes use of photogrammetry a black sort of outline separates those areas form normal autogen terrain. It's like a small gap between textures. This is visible from any altitude (but only on terrain that is not directly under the plane) and it really breaks the immersion. Is anyone else having the same issue? My settings are on medium/high and I have a GTX 970 with the latest drivers.

I'm running in "Medium" graphics node with a GeForce 1080 graphics card. I'm experiencing the same black texture's that eventually fill correctly as I did with P3D. They're small and interspersed in the scenery. It appears to be textures of roads, rivers and bridges. It's very distracting to me and kind of ruins the immersion . There were settings in P3D that greatly reduced this problem. Anyone yet know of settings in FS2020 to fix this or is this a internet bandwidth issue.

Yesterday i was playing around a bit to get a more smoother (read less stutter) experience. I noticed before that if i opened a window from the sim itself (within the main monitor), like the ATC window but then not the blue ingame window but changed it to a real white Windows window, the sims FPS would just drop, closing the window would bring FPS back up. This was a thing to avoid. But yesterday i had set RTSS open on my second monitor when i all of a sudden noticed that the sim directly ran a lot smoother if i moved the cursor over to the second screen and clicked within RTSS. I haven't really noticed this before since I fly mostly during the day time in low altitude VFR flights. But recently I did an IFR flight for the first time at night in the 787 I noticed that the ground looked like this yellow tone. It's very apparent when flying over large, dense urban areas and does not look realistic at all. In fact it looks horrible. I can't fly at night until this issue is fixed. At low altitudes it looks fine, although the individual lights can be a bit more crisp and defined instead of blurry. Given that MSFS clearly doesn't use the full power of existing CPUs, has there been any official word from Microsoft regarding a road map to support the above as obviously this would dramatically improve performance.

HI I notice that whilst this airfield has some 3D buildings - the main hanger line is 'flat' . Not sure why some smaller structures show up but larger ones do not. Can anyone confirm same as I am seeing please? Thanks

I want to create a RTSS profile connected to the FlightSimulator.exe. Meanwhile I've found the location of the .exe but I don't get access to create the profile. I believe I've seen already a screenshots with a MSFS profile (Bert Pieke?) so it should be possible

For those who have bought these from the Microsoft store built into MSFS, there is a delay, but they will both be updated on the 1st of September through the store. Hi in previous flight sims we have been able to open a second camera view in a new window. So often during flight I would have my main view in the 3D cockpit but a little square window at the top with an outside view. is this possible in the new flight sim or will it be in future? TIA

My download went smooth and I'm done setting up my controllers, etc and I'm trying some of the lessons and I have no sound through my Bose bluetooth speaker. I have sound if I use headphones plugged in. I've checked my system outside of the sim and music and video audio plays through the bluetooth speaker fine. All the sound settings in the sim are still on the default settings and they look fine to me. Everything is set on 100% but nothing. Any ideas?

Hello all, I just submitted this but it does not appear to have lodged. If it does seem duplicated, you know why LOL and I apologise. I have mapped, via Save custom camera 0, (Ctrl + Alt + NumberPad 0) a preferred cockpit take off view. I have mapped NumberPad 0 to Load Custom Camera 0. When I click on NumberPad 0 I get a different (although similar) cockpit view. If I click on NumberPad 0 again, I get the allocated cockpit view and it just alternates between the two. I followed the mapping procedure for views 1-9 using the same method described above, but, clicking on the corresponding NumberPad numbers does absolutely nothing (only the 0 works. …

I was under the impression that the new flight model was fairly extensive. However, I loaded the C172 on a runway and set custom ground wind to 60KTS and noticed the airspeed indicator was still showing zero and when I moved the elevators nothing happened. In real life the airspeed should have read close to 60KTS and I would have been able to, at the very least lift the nose off the ground. I actually think I tried to do that in FSX/P3D a long time ago and it worked, I can't verify because I don't have them installed anymore. Ok, here is the deal. Base package install, $1.00 try out. I dont fly outside of the US. I am a private pilot IRL with about 1,200 hours. So I dont need custom international airports and dont need the training tutorials. I noticed in the My Content that I could delete these, so I did (to save space). Well when I went to start the game a day later, I had to update (no other options). So guess what it did? It reinstalled all those items again. So I fully understand here - you either have all of it or none of it. This cant be true - certainly. Your experiences?

Start up the sim and on both the CJ4 and King Air 350 autopilot is turned on and properly configured and neither one works...both show the indications (display) that they are working/engaged but simply are not. All was fine yesterday. Anyone with a similar experience?

If anyone has 5 min to kill, try taking a small aircraft (I used a 172, but anything similar would do), go to San Gabriel Airport in El Monte, Los Angeles, (KEMT), and just run up and down the runway a couple times and moderate speed (below takeoff speed). I'm curious to known if anything weird happens.

No question that playing MSFS on ultra settings on a 4K display will melt your gaming rig. Even the upcoming GTX 3090 could face a serious challenge in a matchup with MSFS. I guess we have to settle for lower resolutions and medium graphics settings until new and better hardware technology is developed. The game is still very enjoyable on 1080p, though things could get more complicated with the introduction of more complex aircraft. Think PMDG 777 or FSLab on final approach in New York City.

I have made two attempts at downloading and installing the new software package. Both attempts have ended with me speaking to MS Tech Reps. The first attempt ended with a no applicable device error message, the second attempt ended with two error different messages. After the first attempt a MS Tech Rep had me download and install a file that allowed my second attempt to find my device. I attempted to download and install again but that attempt also ended in failure. Spoke with another Tech Rep who told be to wait 24-48 hours for a patch that was to be released. Waited and tried again but I was still unable to complete the download and installation. My computer…

I've manually tuned the ILS. The CDI is in LOC (although backwards) ILS ident is correct, bearing and DME indicating, but I cannot find the glideslope indication anywhere. Is there a G3000 menu function to turn it on?
