Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

Hi, Does anybody know of a way to make the manual cache smaller. I made it way to big for nothing. thanks I know you can make it bigger, but there does not seem to be a way to make it smaller or even delete it

Aircraft 1. DA40. When I have loaded this plane, none of the Autopilot buttons work on the G1000 MFD. Aircraft 2. VL-3 This is a great little plane, but for the life in me I can’t work out how to set the A/P. I see the Heading bug and ALT setting knob. But where do you turn on the A/P and select ALT HDG VS etc. If someone can help me I would be very happy. On the other hand on other planes the A/P are modelled quite well, especially the Bonanza G36, TBM930 and the X-Cub

Hi all Just did a flight at night in a storm in c172, this Sim is a work of art, getting around 45 frames 4k ultra, we are going to struggle when pmdg jets come out performance wise,I'm getting 28 with the defaults jets so I expect under 20 without butchering graphics setting,bring on the 3090 ti, future is bright for this sim, once I get a GTN ,pmdg and a2a it's no going back to p3d

I would like to read about any of you guys out there are having issues like me or similar issues regarding this new simulator. I just installed the sim, and the system recomends me in high at 2K.. But im playing at Ultra with no probs.. But I have blurry textures in the distance and a lot of popping buildings.. So, do i need to tweak the cfg or something? Hi all, I'm new to flight sim (haven't done this since the early days) and have selected the Caravan as my plane of choice to get familiar with and use for sight-seeing trips. I was wondering if anyone could be so kind as to answer a few questions... 1. What is the role of the blue throttle lever vs black? It seems in videos I've seen the blue one is always at full. Hello I've installed FS2020 and have purchased a single copy from the MS store. In future when I buy a new PC will it be easy to move and reinstall the software on another machine? What exactly does a single digital licence allow? Can you for example have the program installed on more than one PC as long as you only run one copy at a time? Thanks for your advice Robin

I have 512GB free space on my SSD. It tells me there is not enough space. I tried 100 and 80 GB. Doesn’t make sense.

I’ve been generally thrilled with performance after turning on hyper threading and dialing back my i7 6700k overclock to 4.4 GHz, but there’s one remaining annoyance: from time to time my CPU usage, which is normally around 50-60%, shoots up to 100% for about 5 seconds (with my fans spooling up as the temperature spikes, although not above 80C) and then goes back down. While this happens FPS goes from a smooth 60 FPS in GA aircraft down to a stuttery mess in maybe the teens, and then recovers. Hard to pin down exactly what it is — time compression makes it happen more often, so seems like it’s probably related to terrain loading. Hills/mountains also seem to correlat…

Hi! I have installed the livery mega pack, have unzipped it and put all content into the community folder... but it does not work. no liveries shows up in the simulator. have anyone came across this?

Set her down ( C152 ) in a farmers pasture. Shut down and sat listening to the rooks cawing and wind whistling through the trees. Dead impressed.

I can't get over how beautiful everything is. It's ridiculous to think that this is how the sim looks like default with no addons whatsoever.

Is there a problem with ATC sound? Sometimes I hear the call but mostly not. If I respond I hear nothing.

There is a precipitation bar in any weather theme and I was wondering if you can let it (sporadically) rain by setting the slider to the max (eg with scattered clouds or overcast). I have not experienced it yet.

Loving this sim! It properly simulates the feel when you stare straight off into the late afternoon evening sun to the point that I would love it if they could do a keybind to virtually pop on some sunglasses (or at least drop the sunvisor). Thoughts? (kinda trivial given all thats being worked on, but the thing's so real that those ideas are coming to mind for me).

Taking the Cessna 172 for example, I am struggling to see how a2a can improve on it in some aspects. The head movement effects from the bobbles in the air as the aircraft sways around are, to me, almost perfect at the moment - this used to be a big selling point for a2a in p3d - I feel asobo have matched and exceeded what a2a managed. Also the aircraft model fidelity, can a2a actually improve on this? Asobo have done an incredible job, the default 172 is higher fidelity than the a2a p3d to me. Sure a2a can make the doors and windows open, give us the maintenance hanger, with modifications etc, but things like creaking sounds, knocks while taxing, all the little immer…

While the sky looks pretty impressive, I wonder if there is an option to set visibility? I know there is a so-called "Aerosol" slider, but even at the lowest setting there is quite a lot of haze. Is there a setting I've missed that can produce very high vis distances?

Selected the single engine 'Virus' aircraft after a post recommending it. Departed from a random airfield in Alaska. I was on the runway in fog - mid afternoon but dark and dank. Took off and immediately lost site of the ground, but no worries as the Garmin showed the way. I decided to climb until I left the clouds. At about 500ft I cleared the fog and a wonderful view of the water was ahead with mountains either side. However, huge banks of clouds at different brightness towered above. First off, I am having a blast with this sim! Been sticking with the DA62 and the TBM and have found that they work quite well in sim performance, AP, and aircraft performance. Weather and scenery is fantastic! I have a few issues and was wondering if I was missing something or if they were issues that needed to be addressed. 1. Visibility setting. Is there a way to increase or decrease the visisbility? 2. Is there a full screen mode (no cockpit but with a hud similar to X-plane in full screen mode). The next few are issues that, imo, should be able to be fixed fairly easily I would think and just wondered if anyone else sees these small prob…
