Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

Is this a priority for Asobo ? I thought by now enough of us were having these that the priority might move up the list. I just did a short hop and for the first 30 minutes all was well...but in the last 10 minutes descending to the airport, the stutters came roaring back.

This looks like a great tool for for analyzing graphics performance, looking for cause of stutters, etc. Can help users investigate bottlenecks, identify issues such as GPU starvation, unnecessary GPU synchronization, insufficient CPU parallelizing, and even unexpectedly expensive algorithms across the CPUs and GPUs of their target platform (from their web site). https://developer.nvidia.com/nsight-systems I have the MS Store version of the sim. I wanted to share this little story of what is possible with flying a sim that has actual satelite and aerial photography of the world. Recently I got into all kinds of interactive ways of exploring the history of WWI. I believe that was probably initiated by reading Stefan Zweig's memoires and how he testifies to how Europe was before 1914 and how it and the world changed after WW I. A much more interesting approach than learning raw historical facts like you do in school, which is always very dry and lacks a human perspective. Start from Saint Malo (Dinard airfield LFRD) flying West following the jagged coastline to Ouessant LFEC, the westernmost island of mainland France. Less than one hour with the Spitfire (220 mph). Some really nice watermasks.

Any other fans of Andre Rieu here? Best rendition of Vrijthof Square now in WU4. The two church towers are finally there! Never been to Maastrict. Only seen the square on Google, Bing and flight sim Orbx. Would be nice to hear from those who know the place.

According to Asobo, "On rare occasions during a flight, the position of axes will reset to 50% after exiting the Pause Menu". The problem is that the "rare" occasions means ALWAYS in my set-up. Upon hitting resume: flaps/throttle/spoilers/mixture/prop pitch revert to 50%, on the ground or in the air. Their "workaround" is a pure insult to human intelligence: "Head to Options > Controls then click the Sensitivity button above the Search & Filters panel to display the device sensitivity options and adjust the position of your device’s axes". In other words they have no clue. 🥳

Punta Cana to Saint Marteen with the FBW A320, experimental version, real weather, daytime. 52 minutes on a beautiful route, high to ultra settings, 4K, multiplayer on, it was a very nice flight, no stutters, no problems, just a lot of fun. I can live with some limitations and a flight model that still needs some loving care. And if I want a great aircraft, I can still use the PSX 747-400 with WidePSX, which is very good. Second flight: since we are at Princess Juliana, let's try a short hop to Saint Barth on a Cessna 172. Perfect flight , cool landing, all very good. Flying just west of Toronto today, an enormous terrain spike that follows the river. Is anyone else able to confirm?

Hi all, Really hoping someone can help, so today I installed the new update, all three parts to it, the one in store, the one when opening game, and then the world update from within the game. All went swimmingly, no issues with the download, but now I can't load into a flight at all. I can get into the menu OK, but when loading a flight I just get a CTD with no error message. I followed all the instructions, I have never used rolling nor manual cache, I cleared out the community folder etc. Completely stuck and hoping someone can help! Thanks for any help, A

All I have a bad feeling that this isn't going to end well, but the latest update now seems to be trapped in a perpetual loop at [168/172] - attempting to download and decompress "asobo-aircraft-generic-airliner-twinengines-1.1.50.fspatch". Download horizontal bar states "19.94GiB" - so the end was in sight. Any thoughts at how to proceed from here would be much appreciated ! Regards

I used the A320 FlyByWire installer to convert all my liveries for the standalone version. With it installed I experience a CTD every time, but when I deleted the converted liveries MSFS loads normally. Tried installing and deleting the converted liveries a few times but with it installed the sim always crashes. Can anybody perhaps assist?

Ever since the latest update I can no longer import flight plans from Navigraph. Simbrief plans go right in - Navigraph, nada. My normal procedure is to create the initial FP in Simbrief, import into Navigraph, refine it, export the final Navigraph version and load. Now, when I select the Navigraph file it just blinks and goes to the world view with no plan. Am I the only one experiencing this?

Only being able to use the mouse, leads to imprecision when adjusting sliders SYSTEM WIDE in MSFS. I have started a Zendesk Request (Request #102416 MENU SLIDER PRECISION) however, as I do not have trust level 3 I am unable to start a poll. The request is as follows- "Could we PLEASE add mouse wheel and +/- support to EVERY menu slider, so that setting PRECISELY is not a futile exercise? I have all my controllers running through FSUIPC7> have done this because I just could not figure out how to use the complicated (to me) SETTINGS in the sim under the CONTROLLERS tab. Since there is no button in the sim to select "DISABLE CONTROLLERS" like there is in FSX and P3D, you must add an additional PROFILE for each controller and leave them blank. Do not assign anything to them. I call them YOKE FSUIPC, etc. Make sure that those PROFLES are selected and then setup a flight, and then you can go to THE addons TAB AT THE TOP AND your FSUIPC and setup your controllers there The advantage of this is that you can make each FSUIPC setting for a specific airplane by …

Some month ago I had downloaded via a Megapack a lot of liveries for my community folder and so most of the Real-Time traffic had "real" liveries. Some weeks ago this did not work anymore (I do not know why), so I deletet all and downloaded liveries from flightsim.to. Is this the new and only way to have "real" liveries for the traffic? Flying today in the Bonanza, my windows were frozen solid. The panel has switches for Pitot heat and Prop deice, but nothing else. Am I correct in understanding thee is no way to clear ice?
