Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

One thing that i have learned good enough all these years with Flight simulators is to keep them stable as much as i can and focus on how fluid it runs and not the FPS. My setup is far from being top notch. (i7-8700k, 16GB RAM, 1070 8GB).I am from the “lucky” ones that did not experience CTD since the very first install of MSFS. Not until recently, with the last World Update. I started experiencing CTDs. I have spent the last days trying to figure out and eliminate the single (or not) cause of my CTDs. Haven't flown to San Francisco (KSFO) in a while. Flying to it today, I noticed that there is no ATIS frequency available. Has anyone else noticed this or can confirm it? Not sure if it is bug with the scenery (it is the latest Asobo World Update scenery) or if it is just a an issue with my install. The content manager says the airport is installed and up to date. Hi Folks..since I installed latest version, I am getting this endless loop of "checking for updates." Now I did update the FBW A32NX thru its installer, and when it did that it converted all my A320 planes. Other than that I have not added or changed anything. The sim will load if I remove my Community add ons. So it is something in my Community causing the problem. Is it the FBW converts? Does anyone have thought why this is occurring? One side note: I did manage to get the sim to run one time with everything in my Community, including FBW converts, but it just keeps looping on that screen now.

Currently I am testing the Prosim 737 in MSFS. In december I first started testing before the US world update. Framerate was stable. After the US update I suffered a lot from CYD’s with Prosim. Now after several Prosim updates I can fly without CTD’s. The only issue now is that the framerate is reducing gradually over time. Amsterdam - Nice At Amsterdam 55+ FPS. When I reach the Mediterranean and even fly over sea the framerate has dropped to 23. When arriving at Nice the framerate is 19-20. If I shutdown MSFS and then reboot it and start at Nice I see 66 FPS. When taking off and then turning over the city the framerate is 55+ .... I a…

Hello, I have just upgraded my motherboard and CPU and getting great results on quality and performance but have a question about my ram usage. As it builds up through a flight to over 95% would I get any benefit by adding another 32GB ram?

I have a Ryzen 5 3600. Up to 4.6 ghz. turbo. 32 gigabytes DDR4 3000 RX 580 with 8 gigabytes. 240 gigabyte SSD. Is my system enough to handle MSFS 2020 or should I just go to Prepar3d v4 or v5 or Xplane 11? Currently on FSX-SE which my system dominates. Thanks

After the last update my vanilla sim copy was working fine, I did not notice any of the issues that some were having, but then came the hotfix. Installed the hotfix via Microsoft store, I now have a box from Gaming services telling me that it is indeed installed but that I need to "install on my device" and from there I just go round in a circle i.e. every time I try to start the sim it just opens this box again. Have tried everything I can think of short of a reinstall which I wish to avoid if at all possible (slow internet 18mbps). At one point I had a message saying the store could not find my internet connection so how did they send that message? Any ideas. …

Really getting bored about these CTDs during sim load. They did not exist before this World Update 4 but now facing very frequently. I could not find any reason or a solution. What are your experiences ? Any sıggestions are welcomed.

I plan on doing some airport updates but have not yet tried the Scenery Editor. At the last SDK brief we were told that it would support effects - cool. Has anyone used it yet? Thanks bs

If i have the TCA throttle plus addon plugged in, if i press escape the throttle/flaps/spoilers goto 1/2. same if i use the logitech proflight button panel. If i unplug the TCA everything returns to normal no Escape key issues. Just tried it with Virpil throttle and button panel. All normal. So what’s going on. I literally have not changed a thing other than install ASOBO patches. This not confined to FBW airbus either

...but after 6 CTDs in a row, with no Community mods, no Online Traffic, Multiplayer off, no live Weather,...basically I am done. There is that feeling that everytime my flight may well end in a crash to desktop, is unacceptable. How can this be even be a thing after 9 months of release. Ok, rant over. Enjoy your sim guys.

What Navigraph subscription do you need to set basic flight plans? dep, SID/Star etc https://navigraph.com/products/subscriptions

Yesterday we had an update for Airac in MSFS. My question is , if you have Navigraph FMS, which Airac is the sim using, the Navigraph or the default that was updated yesterday. Also, during the updates from Asobo, is the Navigraph Airac overwritten and replaced by the Asobo data?

I recently saw a thread here regarding ILS issues at addon airports. So here is some quick clarification with facts: - Yes, there is certainly some big ILS issues going on. - It's caused by the SDK not allowing us to create custom ILS for our airports. - The issue seems scattered among all airport devs. Asobo is very aware of the issue (for many.. many weeks) - Asobo is responding by implementing a new custom ILS tool in the next SDK update, hopefully coming in the next week(s) - I believe this will solve the issue once and for all.. unless it contains bugs as well. With P3D you can use a flatten using ADE. Is there something like that for MSFS ? Lots of runways are not flat at all.

I have 2 things on my wish list that I'd like to accomplish in flight simming. 1) Plane Spotting - Ever since I was young I had a fascination and interests in planes. I would love every chance that I got to go to the airport, even if it was just to sit there and watch planes depart and land and to enjoy the surroundings. I just love being at a busy international airport. Especially ones where you can go to the roof level and smell the jet fuel and hear the engine spools and distance rumbles as planes take off. Hey guys, is there a workaround for this? I've tried the method described in the 'tips and tricks' section of setting the icing effects to 'visual only' and setting a hotkey for TOGGLE WINDSHIELD ICE. With these settings, I can toggle off the cosmetic icing on the windshield, but I'm still getting the effects on the aircraft. Am I missing something here? Is there not any way to disable the effects on the aircraft?

MSFS 2020 cost me about $130 Here are my rough estimates of what addon developers would have charged for various plane mods: These are the planes I fly the most: 1. WT CJ4 $79.99 2. FBW A320Neo $69.99 3. TBM 930 with mods $49.99 4. Citation Longitude modded $49.99 In sum, roughly $250 130-250= -120 In other words, MSFS put $120 into my pocket already.
