If helicopters have triggered your interest after learning about the free H135, you may be interested in the new Bell 47. It is pay ware, but the flight model is quite advanced, and quite realistic for most simmers. Some real heli pilots like it as well. Here is a video I made on my first flight with the Bell 47. This is a really, really great platform for sightseeing in MSFS.

  2. My 11 month old GTX1650 bit the big one a few days ago and is currently in RMA hell with the vendor who is in the process of sending it back to the manufacturer for repair/replacement. As a result I've had to slot my old GTX1050 2Gb card (which was luckily still languishing in a box in the garage) probably for the next several weeks at this rate. Is it worth even trying to run MSFS with this old thing or am I best just to wait for the new card to arrive? What's annoying is I would probably just have gone out and bought a new card, but due to all this crypto mining malarkey (amongst other factors) there are simply no GPUs of any description available to buy from any v…

Hey Gang. Heads-up. The MAX has been updated to V1.3. Anyone tried it yet? Seems to have a lot of interesting improvements, including new sounds.

Hi all, I've another problem: I can map my throttle axes INCREASE THROTTLE AND DECREASE THROTTLE and that is how they show in the controls. In the plane (makes no difference which aircraft is chosen) the throttle in the game does not move until the HOTAS is almost pushed to the stops. I have tried changing all parameters in the sensitivity settings in numerous different combinations. The behavior in the game remains the same: the throttle does not move until the HOTAS is almost pushed to the stops. Any Ideas? Thanks in advance.

I need enlighting! I have over 200 hours in DCS F-16 and a big part of that aircraft is how it lands and its all about AOA, then I have a few hundred hours in the DCS F-18 with a lot of super carrier landing again all about AOA. Now the CJ4 AOA is .6, after entering wind temp etc in the FMS and it gives landing speeds, they never get you close to the AOA. Now I have not tied but I could not fill in the landing FMS at all, pitch it to "O" and like a F-16/F-18 the landing speed is what it is. So whats wrong or what am I missing here? Enlighten me please.

  7. I'm curious to how well it works in MSFS. Would like to hear from others who are using this setup with 4k big screen displays and how well it works. I have mine laying around but never got around to using it. I'm especially curious about how smooth it works with framerates under 30fps...

  10. So after coming back to the sim from about a two or thee week hiatus, I downloaded the latest update and while I can't point to it directly, it seems my airports have ben adversely affected. Below is a screenshot of PAKW Klawock in Southeast Alaska. It looks like somewhere in bleak western Alaska with tundra all around but this should be a heavily forested airport. Anyone else experiencing this?

I have it on good authority that a Spitfire MkIX is coming to MSFS in the next few weeks. Sorry I can’t be more specific about timing or details, but with that in mind you may be interested in a flight stick like this to go with it? The aim is to have it available in time for the Spit’s launch on MSFS. I’ve been collaborating with the developer and we’re all pretty confident you’ll find it a faithful replica of the MkIX spade grip and a very sturdy piece of kit with a nice action. Bad News I’ll give you the bad news straight off. You can’t buy it - you have to print it yourself on a 3D printer. The good news is that you can’t buy it, you print it yourself a…

Here is Saint-Valery airport created by Yves Pébayle. Saint-Valery - Vittefleur aerodrome is a civil airfield, open to public air traffic, located in the municipalities of Saint-Sylvain, Saint-Riquier-ès-Plains and Vittefleur, 6 km southwest of Saint -Valery-en-Caux in Seine-Maritime. It is used for the practice of leisure and tourism activities (light aviation). https://www.simvol.org/en/downloads/airports/saint-valery

On the one hand, there are things to complain about. The terrain spikes and other issues, the stuttering and pauses... But on the other hand, I'm constantly landing at all these great little airports (just put down at 21FA, fits perfectly into the surroundings.)

Does anyone have thoughts on the Bloom setting as far as smoothness when its off vs on? I'm interested in seeing of anyone has benefited from it being off. I do like the glint effects it provides but if it makes the sim smoother when off, I'm not sure. Thanks guys...

My MSFS crashes once per 3-4 flights. This is so annoying... I was flying the CRJ today and during the descent phase the screen turned black and after 2-3 seconds all I saw was the Windows desktop. I heard somewhere that it is possible to find the reason in some kind of log file. Could you please tell me where to find it? Is the reason clearly stated there or it's just a code or something? BTW: I sometimes use the "Sim rate" option to compress my time during longer flights, could that be the reason? Thank you.

  16. While flying the TBM lately, the throttle jumps all over the place from high speed to low and back without input from pilot. It seems to me that I had that problem some time ago but I forgot what’s the solution for that fix was. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks, Rolf

  17. I just had a fabulous flight from MMMX to KSAN in the Citation L and marvelled at the logical and plausibal calls from FL440 on into an approch procedure to Rwy27. Did the prior rediculous ATC descent level calls get addressed or did I just slop into a lucky one? Taking off at MMMX at early dusk was so believeable one absolutely gets the feeling they're in Mexico City. The entire flight was flawlessly smooth save one very brief unexplained drop in frames to 24-27 happened about 25m south of KSAN. The flight was chasing dusk and by the time we were lined up to land all dusk sky color had just finally faded to dark and lighting was spectacular the whole way. S…

The last 2 days I have had a couple of screen freezes. Today, I was flying the JF Arrow, and when I went to adjust the OBS, the screen just froze, mouse clicks didn't work or move, CPU went to about 6% with MSFS, and after I waited about 3 minutes I used Task manager to shut the program down. Anyone else see this? Everything else was running normally, Track IR, etc....

Second time I've encountered this.. I'm a big fan of using CTRL DEL or INSERT to set my heading bug and it randomly will freak out and just continue non-stop doing complete counter/clockwise rotations at about one rotation a second without any input from the keyboard and is just stuck doing that. Has anyone had this happen and if so found a way to stop it without closing the sim?

Yesterday I tried the King Air, when descending the engines quit. Enough fuel left. All de-icing was on. What could have happened? Is there a quide or tutorial on how and why to set power-PROP rpm-condition levers in the different phases of the flight?

  23. After looking at videos it would appear that even the best PCs with RTX 3090 graphics cards still struggle to run the most complex sceneries in Ultra at more than 20-30fps. With computer chips being in short supply for at least the next 6 months, it would seem that the 3090 is going to be the top end card for the foreseeable future. I cannot see nvidia releasing a new range for some time. so it’s going to be at least late 2022 or 2023 before there is any opportunity to improve and get better performance for MSFS and have a chance of running it at smooth frame rates. Or is there another way to get around the current hardware limitations?

Hello, I purchased MSFS on the day it was released and have been working my way up the ladder in terms of confidence and flying skills using the Cessnas then onto turbo props and am very happy with the way I can now handle the Daher TBM 930. I am now stuck on what passenger jet is the next step up as after having a brief look, they all look so intimidating. Any recommendations on which one is the easiest to learn going on from the Daher, would be appreciated.
