Weather in NW England today has been very heavy rain, winds 20-30kts 180°. Local airports are reporting similar. Real world weather has imported correct wind speeds but from 256°, high overcast but no rain all day. I’m aware that the imported weather represents a forecast but is everyone seeing this sort of disparity? Come to think about it I can’t remember seeing rain imported ever 🤨

I am using the FBW stable version. I used to on occasion not have the ILS show when I hit LS on certain approaches. Now it doesn't show on any approach. I am pre-setting my flight routes and approach on world map (Don't have to program in MCDU) so when I got down to low enough altitude and near airport I could hit LS and the ILS would display. I would then hit approach on final. It would capture glide and I would have smooth landing. Now the GS is showing in ready to arm state but it is not capturing and the ILS is not displaying. And the approach is not always capturing GS so I have to manually (not pretty) approach the plane. Anything change with FBW or …

Is anyone having any issues with this latest mod? v0.5.1 ran very well for me - the WT mods have always been great so I updated when the latest version came out. I took a flight with it before activating the charts feature and everything was good. I then activated charts and it seemed to be working well prior to takeoff. About halfway through my flight i dropped to a framerate of about 1 and couldn't do much of anything - then I couldn't even close the sim, so I had to go with the Task Manager. After rebooting my system I tried to reload the flight and couldn't even start the aircraft (TBM). I've now reloaded with v0.5.1 and all is well.

I have had very good overall performance of late but this morning did Dusseldorf to Munchen in the Citation L and all was fabulous until 30m out or so from EDDM, during which erratic big FPS drops happen so aborted the flight before landing. This was to be an ILS approach and was only 10m out when I bailed. CPU/GPU loads were really modest at around 65%-70%, and I check the server which indicated 26ms or so on the west coast server. Any suggestions on ways to fix this, or is it a case of waiting until the developer fixes this? It's really a pretty area to fly into so very disappointing to abort. Hi, I tried to google about or check the forums, but I couldn't find info on some good AI programs form MSFS. So what are you guys doing to get stop-and-go taxiway lines? I'm always number 1 for take-off even at Heathrow and JFK. Looking to fill up my skies. Thanks!

I would guess not, but it's a pain to fly a 152 long distances without some rudder trim, etc. Is there a way to do this?

This has been really frustrating me since the release of MSFS I worked out the GPS/NAV from the Garmin 1000 (Cdi button) But for the life of me unless I start on the runway I can not figure out how to set this on the other type of GPS that the King Air and Club X use Please somebody help, I really want to fly the King Air more-

With the latest hotfix improving local weather, consider the following scenario: With Live Weather activated, the ATIS at airport 'A' (where I'm departing) reports winds 280 at 5 knots. Let's say that winds at the arrival airport are 255 at 2 knots. Does the MSFS live weather feature model the arrival winds as 255 at 2 knots, or will the arrival airport conditions simply mimic what was originally modeled based on the departure airport, i.e., 280 at 5? Has anyone observed anything specific regarding this? I ask because this can somewhat dovetail with what arrival runway one might select when flight planning.

This was one of my favorite all time planes in FSX and P3D, especially with the dual GTN 750 setup. How I miss this plane terribly. I really wish to have this plane back in MSFS some day. The only thing that comes close is the vertigo turbo prop, but it's not the same.

There are other posts about the merits of the MSFS RNAV implementation, but here is a new (for me) observation which may just help WT in fixing this aspect of the Garmin avionics. Up til now, whenever I have selected and activated an RNAV approach with vertical guidance (LPV or LNAV+V), I have immediately seen the GS indicator appear and seemingly point to the FAF intercept altitude. On the runway, the GS indicator is at the top, as I climb, it comes down, and when at correct approach altitude, it is at the bottom. Hey guys, I'm trying to figure out how to do rnav approaches in MSFS, and the more I search and read, the more confused I get. Trying to learn about rnav approaches in general combined with the fact that the sim is said to be bugged in various ways around rnav compounds the confusion for me. Here's a typical scenario for me (default Cessna 172, steam gauge version): I'll create a fight plan which includes the rnav approach. As the gps turns me toward the airport and runway, I select APR on the autopilot (I believe I'm usually doing this somewhere between the IAF and FAF and am at the published altitudes). Was in stable flight at FL22 in the Citation and went into active pause to check something. Image froze as usual but as I was checking other things I noticed the airspeed just kept dropping. When I came out of active pause, I was in an immediate stall and dropping like a stone. Ultimately recovered but it also took a minute or two to get the AP functioning properly again. Every time I switched it back on the nose went straight up and I had no control authority. Ultimately got it squared away and rest of flight was uneventful. Not a particularly good experience, IMHO. Still like a lot about MSFS2020 but keep finding little loose ends here and there that need fixing. …

Been a while since I've been up in a relatively small plane. Thinking of paying for a short flight this summer, either I will pay for a "tourism flight" or use a CC miles card to reduce cost to a small airport, then find a short "hop flight" to a more major place where I can rent a car. Any suggestions on what to look for or what type of plane, that someone might consider a "bucket list ride"? I will probably be flying out of TN area or around there. I guess I could also pay for a float plane ride.

Anyone know certain of a flight school using MSFS (2020) for training? A local school here asked me about MSFS today and I suggested they confer with a flight school that has it in use. Again training. I agreed to ask around to find two or three schools they might contact for references.

TLDR Do you hear external sounds when using wingviews because the cam cannot be placed inside? FULL I dont have the game yet but close to getting it and I'm busy watching videos to get up to speed on tweaking and such. I just watched a good video on wingviews (below). To create the wingview the tutorial showed how to set a view, exit the sim, load the camera.cfg in a text editor and play with the XYZ cords to place the camera outside the airplane. Then load the sim and translate to the desired wingview. Unless things have since changed (the video is from Nov 2020) I cant help feeling a little 😕 as this means one of my biggest annoyances from FSX h…

Just launched MSFS and a new mandatory update notification appeared, then off to the MS Store.

I don't do this kind of flying but I believe that some here do. I found this video interesting because you may be able to do this in the sim. The aircraft looks familiar but I think it is one of European ones. And I suspect that the 'airport' (more like a dirt strip) may be in France. Either way, here you go... approach and landing and good luck.

This is driving me nuts and keeps from wanting to fly the sim. In any aircraft I get a slight downpitch which leads to having to constantly trim just to keep aircraft level. In aircraft i.e microlights, it's worse since they have usually don't have trimtabs. I have to constantly have joystick backpressure just to avoid diving in to the ground. I've tried everything, resetting controller profiles, calibrating in windows, tried 2 different controllers, TM 16000 and Logitech Extreme 3D Pro but they are both exhibiting the same behaviour. Hello all, I read somewhere that before updating MSFS (one due today) we should be copying or moving the community folder and then replacing after the update. I happily started this process just now but nearly every subfolder is telling me that "your organisation does not allow you to place this file here" What can I do to negate this advice and allow me to copy the folder across to another Drive. I note however that it is not all the subfolders but a very large majority of them offer this advice. I further note that I did not pursue this action for the last update and the only problem I had post update was with the G1000 and that was only becaus…
