Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

I just started MSFS and a Notice that there is a Mandatory Update at the Microsoft store. It's 1 GB and downloading now, as soon as I went to the store. Anyone else get this? I wonder what this will break?

I thought I once saw a Hobbs flight time meter in the TBM, but searching everywhere I cannot see one. The real plane has one above the circuit breaker panel. Also no dedicated avionics master switch, but I don’t think it exists in the real bird. Thoughts? Thanks!

So I've been tuning, tweaking, fine-tuning and then some more for the last few days. Finally very happy with performance in my upgraded rig. CPU's strolling along at 20-30% usage, HT on. GPU usage is increased after WU4, hence at +90%. I don't mind this - performance is top notch, all ultra settings, 4K HDR, fps 40+ mostly, not dropping below 30. EXCEPT: Did a flyaround today in various aircraft - G36, DA62, TBM. Orbx' EGTK Oxford, EGMC Southend, stellar performance all the way down to the tarmac. HOWEVER - approaching London City from northeast, and my rig is at it's knees. Fps way below 10 over the Thames. Funny thing is - GPU and CPU usage didn't exceed 50%. What …

I now have CTD’s if within approach of 25 nm or flying out of CYTZ. I looked around to see if anyone else has this problem but I did not notice it being a problem for others. I had no problems with CYTZ before. I would welcome suggestion that might clear this problem up. Thank you. Rolf

They still didn't fix the low fps zones, I got 4 fps above Paris, well maybe it's because it's an urban area, even if London is fine for my system. I try near the Millau Viaduct, high fps over the bridge, follow the road south 1nm, enter a 5 fps zone, do a 180 turn, back into a normal area, 180 back into the 5 fps. These are very well delineated patches of performance death, how is it that they still didn't find a solution?

I booted up MSFS and STEAM installed a small launcher update of 100+ Mb and then MSFS installed 22 gigabytes, and MSFS updated to 1.15.7.0 (the one from last Tuesday) Next I closed / reopened MSFS, another different small STEAM launcher update installed, and MSFS was now 1.15.8.0 (the one from today). You can see from this screenshot version is 1.15.8.0. And see Content Manger sorted by size high to low. See the USA and UK POI packages are there and have been downloaded. In the cockpit I get this big fat label saying what a knob does. I want to to turn it off, but cannot find anything about it in the settings... Any tips?

HI, After the last update (IV) I have 11 'Not Installed' in my content manager these are all my ORBX addons, according to ORBX they are all installed, But I have re-installed them to maske sure, not had this problem previously does anyone have any ideas please. Thank you

I'm just noticing this now. I have no idea if it's from an update or if it's been this way for longer, but... ...after touchdown, my plane slows down all by itself, without needing to use my brakes. It doesn't stop completely but it slows down into the 20's ...I'd say approx. 1kt per second, perhaps even a bit more? So far Ive tested with da62, c177,JF arrow. Checked my hardware and dead zones which seem to be acting normally. Has it always been this way, and I've just not noticed till now?

This area has been severely neglected and is an area that I would very much love to see some TLC. I hope Asobo/MS can work their magic to bring this area to life. Unfortunately this area is lacking a lot of detail. I am talking about the countries of Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Taiwan, Philippines, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia. I just bought the Indiafoxtecho T-45 Goshawk and had two serious issues. First, whenever I get near any clouds, the entire canopy ices up. I have this same problem in the MB-339 as well. I have the windshield controls on full heat and full defog but they don't seem to do anything. The manual doesn't indicate anything about other de-icing controls. The second issue was that after flying around for several minutes, the aircraft became increasing unstable, particularly in roll. Small aileron inputs would not do anything, but once the aircraft started to bank it would start rolling back and forth nearly uncontrollably. This seemed to get worse as time went on until I had…

After the patch, it takes several minutes before the game to shut down if I use the built-in "Back to Desktop", does anyone else have the same problem? I have started using Alt + F4 instead, is it safe to use?

I need to come up with some better way than I'm currently using to cover my Honeycomb Alpha Yoke (with mounted Saitek radio panel on top). If I told you what I've currently been using you'd laugh at me (my wife's unused shower caps) 🙄 I've tried buying some cheap custom made clear plastic covers...but the "custom" part didn't turn out so well and they were even larger and more hideous than the shower caps so I don't use them. Anyone in a similar position and have a better idea?

We all know ASOBO has much fish to fry, and I applaud them for a great response to the community, but I at least figured that when this ground breaking sim came out in 2020, they should have known we have not been positioning and holding since 2010. I get all the frustration with the ATC and I dont see it on the short list any time soon... but Cmon at least understand the entire world "lines up and waits" at least if your not going to stop the continue as planned, which I as a real pilot have NEVER HEARD, please get this error fixed. Pilot2Atc is a great option.
