Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

Don't know what is going on. Never had anything like this happen. I had 8 consecutive CTD's. I have been flying the Cessna Longitude exclusively lately. So I decided to fly the Carenado M20R. That is the only change I made. Consistently after I select the "Fly" button withing 30 seconds I get the CTD. Finally I got 3 flights in and now it has started again. So today I changed nothing. Had the M20R selected when the sim came up, uploaded the flight plan and again CTD. Tried it again, again a CTD. So out of frustration I just gave up. The sim has been working perfectly for the last couple of months. Guess the law of averages are catching up to me.....

This was fascinating, stressful, and difficult to watch at times. I though you all might appreciate it, since I *guarantee* you've encountered the same exact issue in MSFS that this pilot did in the real world. In fact, you will instantly know what the root cause of the issue is - long before the pilot does. The difference that this video brings into sharp relief is - in MSFS you don't get a primordial "fear of death" shot of adrenaline that clouds your judgement. Occasionally, I've had the sensation that I'm really flying in MSFS - but there's an extra dimension of emotions that comes with being alone at 10,000 feet in the clouds in the real world.

I purchased the Corenado Piper PA44 Seminole from the MSFS store in the sim. It is version 1.5 I have setup all the controls and buttons in FSUIPC7 for if and everything works. However, I can't keep it straight going down the runway for take off. I created a new profile for each of my CH Products controllers in MSFS and left them all blank and selected. I then used FSUIPC7 setup pages for axis and buttons. All other planes work well. This plane goes wild going down the runway. I can not keep it going in a straight line. Hi all, So I know that for takeoffs and landings, the proper runway to be used is largely determined by wind factors and ATC will tell you. In the case of MSFS, it seems to automatically assign the runways for you in the world map planning stage. What I'd like to do is incorporate that into my flight planning stage in SimBrief or Little NavMap so the game doesn't automatically switch runways on me when I select a parking spot for my plane (I like to go through the entire procedure). How does one determine which runways to use prior to entering the game and without relying on it to tell me?

I know how to do this the "real" way with metars, atis, ect. I want to know if the SIM has the capability to display, in flight and or in the planning screen the weather at my current, or any other place. METARS Seem to rarely match the SIM weather. So real world meters are useless. Often enough to make it useless, ATIS is wrong too.

I just started MSFS this morning. Quickly saw that Online Functionality was switched off. This disabled Bing World Data, Real Weather. Photogrammetry, and anything else. under Data Connection. There was no checking for updates either when MSFS is booting up. Crossing fingers nothing else will get wiped out when I start a flight. Oh, and forget about getting anything at the Marketplace, it is now closed. Now i went to load a flight , and YOUR PACKAGES ARE OUT OF DATE. came up again. Asobo hasn't fixed squat and this has been going on for some for almost 3 days. Yeah I know, something must be wrong with my PC....🤓

In a similar fashion like Switzerland there is now a highly detailed open source dataset available for all the buildings in The Netherlands. So you all know what happens... you're sitting there in your cockpit and you begin to zoom in and out while you do your thing, only to wonder after a short while "hmm, I wonder if my zoom level is wrong now?". Well, back in FSX, there is a digital readout available for your FOV so that you can't lose track of it. But, alas, there seems to be no such digital readout for zoom level (nor fov) in MSFS2020. Hello MSFS community, I'm fine with my 10 years old VrInsight mPanel + MSFS but after more than 10 years I wonder if there'sn't any new alternative in the flight sim hardware market. I need an all-in-one and small device that fit in my desk : com/nav, xponder, obs, auto-pilot, gear and flaps and more. I fly 99% GA small airclub planes. Anyone with a suggestion?

Seems like a great plane so far but I’m struggling to get the FMC to show me the usual magenta line to follow once I’ve input my DEP and ARR. What is the easiest way to display a magenta line I can follow to my arrival airport while I learn how to properly program the FMC in this complex beast? For example KORD to KMKE....? Thanks, Steve

Was watching some videos on the TBM 930 and thinking about adding another aircraft to my hangar. I also see there seems to be many mods on that aircraft, and what I am wondering , is might it be a better choice to wait for the CRJ to be released and focus on that instead, since that will most likely be a bit more polished. .

Disabling reflections in the settings only affects ground reflections on water, not the clouds'. Is there any way to disable them? I play with Ultra settings except LOD sliders at 100, anyway regardless of the settings the cloud reflections on water look like this. I posted this some time ago and for some users it looks normal, but I really can't accept it, it hurts my eyes. Thank you

I'd like to know what compression tool Asobo uses. I'd request Asobo more respect for people who don't have unlimited and fast broadband connections, and in general for people's time. I really think the installation package needs optimization, as I wrote in another thread: "At the release the total data to be downloaded was about 103 GB for the Premium Deluxe version. Now it is 165 GB + about 16 GB for Japan, US, UK updates and their custom airports. A total of about 180 GB to download but my MSFS folder is only 117 GB. They didn't even bother making a rational repack of the installation files so evidently you have to download and overwrite the same areas t…

Anyone who here purchased FSPlayground, which brings a replay function to MSFS? Only willing to part with my money, if it is any good, meaning frames, lag, UI etc. I know there is a native version in the works from Asobo. Hi All, Just done a flight in the Arrow and had a basic flight plan set up using the default planner. This usually is then shown on the default GPS to follow the line, however today there was no line showing on the GPS nor on the VFR Map for the first leg of the route. It was only on passing the first waypoint that the line then was visible and could be followed for the rest of the flight. The autopilot however did follow the route even on the first leg, it's just that there wasn't a magenta track showing. Is this a bug or did I do something wrong? Thanks!

I have a problem with Nose wheel steering connect not turning on and as a result I can't steer with my saitek rudder pedals. Has anyone else had this problem and, if so, how can it be solved? Any help would be much appreciated
