It has been a while since I have looked into my weather set up so I figured I'd check here to see what the latest is. I currently own Active Sky, Rex Atmos Core, and Rex Weather force. I haven't run Weather Force in a very long time. Currently, i run live weather in Active Sky and then turn on Atmos Core but don't pick a weather setting in Atmos Core. Is there a scenario where I should be using Active Sky along with Atmos Core but selecting the weather tab in Atmos? Could I use AS, Weather Force and Atmos Core together? Any settings in any of these I should be using vs. not? I have found that my current set up the clouds are visually lacking and I was looking to be…

I couldn't find another post on this new LSA release, but in case there is one, I'll apologise now before someone like Reader throws a handbag at me 😄 There are quite a few LSA addons for MSFS 2024 but the average quality level isn't great. Also, many of the LSAs that we had in 2020 have not made the transition to 2024 due to lack of updates from the devs (eg. Orbx Blackwing; which still has the awful old Asobo G3X, AirFoilLabs Bristell B23; the same, and many others). So for big time LSA flyers, a Got Friends release of a nice, modern tricycle LSA is quite a big deal 😎 I have just under 40 hours in the A32 Vixxen IRL and it's one of my favourite LSAs, so …

I’ve been continually impressed with Delta Sims work over the years (C-17, original xH-60, T-38 Talon, etc). This MH-60 revamp flew under my radar probably because of the payware MilTech SeaHawk (with which I’m not in love yet). Anyhow, here’s the “real” Blackhawk, seemingly rebuilt from the last release years ago. Can hardly wait to give it a try! https://github.com/Delta-Simulations/MSFS-H-60M/releases

Just for a (or another) heads-up: inibuilds have decided to make it a “feature” of this add-on not to allow pop-out screens. This seems strange as they support other hardware such as MCDUs and the FCU/EFIS. I haven’t ever seen this before and didn’t think to check this specifically before buying. Having corresponded with inibuilds, they confirm that this is a “feature” and I am the stupid one for not reading their small print. They have refused to refund me either … so that’s the end of me parting with my money for their products. Totally disappointed at their product’ lack of usability and more especially their customer service.

Changelog source on Discord: GSX (all versions) NEW: Completely rewritten Walker system, which can now follow Vehicles at programmed distances instead of performing a separate path. This will solve the issue of Pushback walkers possibly clashing with airplane or tug parts. GSX (all versions) Fix: Better check for the Pushback end position vs departure gate, to ensure the operator will always perform the final bypass pin/salute on the inner side of the airplane. GSX (all versions) Fix: Many fixes in all editors (2D, 3D and Parking dialog) related to MARS properties. GSX Pro Change: Night lighting added to Aviramp. GSX Pro Fix: PMDG FANS 2B CDU not …

YMMV. TANSTAAFL. Blue skies, -B Happy holidays from everyone here at FSS! It's been another great year for us here, with new releases across our line of products. Hello everyone, I hope you are having a great week. I am writing to inform anyone interested of an application that I have developed, which I think you might be interested in. It is called MSFS Flight Companion. It is an application that you start that runs alongside Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 or 2024, reading data from MSFS and using that data to give you the following: 1. Takeoff evaluation commentary 2. In-flight commentary about where you are flying, including general information about the area, points of interest, and more 3. An occasional joke 4. Landing evaluation (touchdown and rollout) 5. Post-flight commentary It really is a spe…

A recent Windows 11 update force added Windows Store search results to Search Box - even on Windows 11 LTSC which was traditionally clean of all this. It's clear that this process of making it worse will continue, so today I bit the bullet and installed CachyOS on a separate partition to test it out. I don't think Windows 11 will get better. I had to rebuy MSFS from steam since I was using the Store version, but that's just how it goes. I didn't mind since I already knew that I would have to do this. Besides that, I have a lot of Linux experience so managing the OS, installing stuff, tinkering etc is easy enough for me (it will be harder if you have never used Linux…

I'm wondering what criteria others would use if they were to create their own "well-rounded" line-up of MSFS aircraft add-ons. Having learned my lesson from buying a LOT of add-ons from other flight simulators I'd buy only payware non-military aircraft for MSFS that I will actually use. 1. Just Flight P-28 - old single prop 2. Flysimware C414 - old twin prop 3. Black Square TBM 850 - newer single prop analog cockpit 4. FSReborn FSR500 - newer single prop glass cockpit 5. Black Square Duke - twin prop piston 6. Black Square Turbine Duke - twin prop turbine 7. Just Flight F27 - analog cockpit airliner 8. PMDG 800 - glass cockpit airliner 9. …

Can anyone tell me how to properly bind the Throttletek spolier lever? It is the only lever on the throttle I have not been able to get working in the Fenix. In 2020, I had it bound correctly to FSLabs but with the Fenix, I can't get it to bind in 2020 or 2024. I can arm the spoiler, but when I move the lever, it "twitches" for lack of better description. The arming and disarming just goes up and down. Any thoughts?

As someone who has been an active simmer and member of Avsim for the best part of 18 years, I nevertheless have to admit at not being that familiar with the inner workings or ideal settings of frame generation. As such, I'm wondering if my recent 'fails' are due to finger trouble or perhaps more well known shortcomings of the software. I recently purchased a 4090, which I am 'over the moon' with and thought it a good time to experiment with the latest driver and FG. After doing a clean install of the latest driver and updating the NVidia app, I followed the instructions on several videos on how to implement the relevent settings in the app. All seemed well, except on thre…

I'm one who did not like the gauche yellow banner that appears in GSX when an update is ready and previous to this simple change I would go thru the several minutes of setup required to get to when it's time to open GSX Menu only to see the banner. Sure, one can leave it and update later, but sometimes I would forget anyway and again, I just don't like the banner itself. So all I did was use Task Scheduler to create a basic task to have Live Update run at logon to Win 11. Cheers

For those of you who are real-world C172 pilots and are flying one regularly in MSFS 2024, what do you think about the flight characteristics of the sim aircraft versus the real aircraft? I'm asking because my airspeeds seem lower than expected with typical throttle settings. Specifically, in the pattern, with flaps, and at reduced RPM settings. My final approach airspeeds consistently lag lower than the targeted 65 KIAS, even with typical winds and lower fuel landing weights. Has anyone else experienced this?

I haven’t done too much research on good replay systems for MSFS 2024. FCR (built in) - seems limited (aircraft control surfaces not accurate and not smooth) and somewhat bug filled in my short experience with it. Sky Dolly - have not tried, thoughts? Flight Echo - have not tried, thoughts? Flight Control Replay 5 - have not tried, thoughts? For items 2 thru 4 questions: How well do they capture flight control surfaces movements and lights (flaps, gears, landing lights, strobes, nav, beacon, etc.)? Any issues with using Chaseplane 2024 with them? How is ground and air movement during replay, smooth? Thoughts?

Van’s RV‑10 for MSFS – 4‑Seat Touring Aircraft by SWS 1. Is there a manual (in addition to the Known Issues page)? 2. How do I get rid of the co-pilot? 3. Is there an indicator for the brake, flaps and rudder settings on the panel? 4. How do I adjust the brightness of the G3X Touch display?

I’m looking at a number of options for a triple screen setup in 2024 at the moment, and my biggest concern is whether I would be able to drive them and get a reasonable performance. I have seen such setups on YouTube but many are with GA aircraft, possibly default, and things seem to be OK. What I need to try and ascertain is whether a successful outcome could be achieved with the PMDG 737 at an international, third party airport. I’m pretty sure, willing to be corrected, that this wouldn’t be achievable without frame gen. So…. is there anyone using this kind of setup with triple 4k, 47” monitors? Big question… does frame gen work across all three monitors, as with 2020, …

Bonanza piston vs Baron 58 or 58P I have been fighting this is they came out. No interest in flying any of the turbo props. This discussion can only be about the pistons. The answer was obvious to me, the Baron right. Now I am not so sure. I like to fly under 10K but I also like a little more speed and now I find out that at night flying, you should be using oxygen after 5000. Those little gadgets under your nose are not for me the Bonanza is so much easier to fly then the Baron. The view from the cockpit is so much better. I use the 750/650 and they are stacked one on top of each other. So much easier to use. Yo…

The problem starts with (any) acft on the runway. Viewed from the back, whenever I move the mouse, the rear elevators goes crazy, moving up and down at a great rate of knots. Internally, the yokes go crazy moving in and out. If I don’t move the mouse, it does not happen. Using AP I can effect a departure (or sorts). So I substituted it for another mouse, Same problem as above. Next I tried the old trick of removing the Community file to another drive, then feeding it back a few items at a time, hoping to catch the errant file. Even with no Community file (I think MSFS creates a new one) it was the same problem. I have taken Addson linker back to sq…

As RJTT is my nearest major airport, I have been watching this one for awhile. As of the late March update on Technobrain's site, RJTT is getting close to the finish line, with summer 2026 planned for release. This is the first time any release date has been mentioned by the developer. For anyone who has been keeping tabs, this title has been in progress since at least early 2023 if I remember correctly. I assume it will be both for 20 and 24, and the development timeline probably got pushed back owing to any transition issues with 24. The previews have been looking very promising since last year, but personally I am a little concerned if they are going too deta…

Hi all, I was under the impression that this new dynamic frame gen was for 40 and 50 series cards, but seems like its only for the 50 series. Is that right?
