Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

All, now with or without the TBM 930 mod, when I go to the main menu (esc) no matter why (change graphics for example) when I resume flight the aircraft engine continues for about two seconds then shuts down. An immediate restart (Ctrl-E) gets it going again but any time go to the menu with this bird it happens. Anyone else? TIA -btacon

I'm on the latest FS2020 update. TM HOTAS X has most current drivers. When go to fly, the aircraft takes off on itself and flies the route between departure and destination. The HOTAS does not control the jet. Thrust, flight controls nothing. Switched the TM to another USB port same thing. If it FS 2020 didn't fly the jet on its own I'd say it was a TM thing. FS2020 was working just fine until it began to do this. Any advice? Is there a setting that somehow was turned on?

Hi guys my last to flights have been 2 hours long and on both of them when descending into my arrival airport all my system will shut down the plane is still running but can’t see engine power gps the lot! Is there something I’m doing wrong or a bug at all? many thanks jake

Hi All, Since the latest update the interior of the stock Caravan has turned pink at times. Exterior view, maximum zoom and at certain angles = Magenta light coming from the plane interior. Looks terrible. Anyone else experience this? Thanks in advance.

Is it me? Is MSFS 2020 the WORST implementation of the simulator in HISTORY??? Right now I am installing the latest MANDATORY UPDATE and it never finished after about 12 hours. When I restarted it I am now STUCK ON update 12/65 at 21%, It then drops back to 20 and maybe as HIGH as 22???? I have also had to reach out to Microsoft SEVERAL TIMES.. To get hacks to get things working!!! Any ideas???? Thanks!!!

I don't often fly the C172 but thought I would take it for a spin after the latest MSFS updates. I have the Cockpit Interaction System set to Legacy as I mainly use the mouse to set switches etc. All seems to work fine except the Trim Wheel and the Fuel selector won't move. I asked my brother to check his C172 and it works normally. I have deleted and reinstalled the C172 but that made no difference. I don't have this problem with any other aircraft. Any ideas ?

Maybe this is a good place to be I'm not sure, but it is an area to exploit esp for those w/ more VRAM. It certainly makes room for DX-12 if it is indeed more VRAM-intensive. I do like the fact the combined total of VRAM + SysRAM is up to 21Gb as i was only seeing totals of around 16Gb, right at Xbox SX levels. BUT....what I notice is panning in-cockpit isn't nearly as smooth as it was previously, and I attribute that to insufficient caching in VRAM.

Hi guys, On several flights now with MSFS last Build and hotfix 2 i seeing that zigzaging betwin waypoints we had in first releases is back, ( seems not in FBW ) but with the Autopilot from MSFS and we know this AP is used mostly with all planes. It happens also with waypoints where the way to go to next waypoint is a long one it is not that bad we had at first release versions but seeing they are back.. I had it with the 787-10 and the CS772 whitch uses this AP also. So anyone who noticed that too or experienced sutch issues ? cheers 😉

This kept popping up as I was flying an approach into EBAW. Every 2 minutes for about 30 miles until I landed. After it would pop up, I would click on it, and about 15 seconds later it would say successfully connected. My internet was solid at that time.

Hi! I have searched for this, but haven't found any reference to it (or maybe I didn't hit upon the magic combination of search terms) so perhaps someone can help me. I recently got fed up with the P.I.T.A. upgrading method of the MS store, deleted MSFS and repurchased it through Steam. Download went smoothly, and when I ran the game it had me sign in using my MS account. My same old gamertag shows up when I run the game, but my Carenado aircraft that I purchased in the old MS Store version do not show up as purchased, either in the Marketplace or in my hangar. Anybody notice the midfield FPS hit FBW A320 when landing? The Salty 747 does not. it goes from 30 licked to teens...then goes back up?

From the Fenix Discord channel: This was a very good guess by Matt from Working Title, who speculated here in the Avsim forum shortly after the Fenix A320 announcement, that they were using ProSim. So now, we can put the rumors to rest about Fenix and Prosim. My curiosity is, would that prevent Fenix from developing the A321 and A319 very quickly, after they release the A320. I suppose if Fenix has permission to modify ProSim's code, it's possible to do the A321 and A319. But I wonder how difficult and time consuming it would be.

I couldn't get the darn addon work for me pre-SU5. Doing everything as instructed, there was no ship, nowhere, anytime. I checked again today (I loved it in P3D) and, miracle, it works in SU5HF2 😋 ! The Channel is full of ships. The SU5 optimization process has cleared some cobwebs, I suppose, that were blocking the ships to appear. No wake though but the ships are here.

Hi all, after taking rid of Bloom, Blur and Lens Correction, now the visuals are approximately ok, except for a given time of the day when it is definitely cartoonish (reminds me of the single thing I hate most in X-Plane), and two types of artifacts. First: some awful moiré patterns (this is how they are called in mathematics), that are quite obvious looking ahead with a uniform background like the sky or the sea. Anyone know of one in development for FS2020? I miss it, having spent more hours in Alabeo's Tomahawk than any other aircraft I used in X-Plane. I flew the Tomahawk a lot in the 1990s during real-world flight training, and well remember how scary it could be when stalled or during spin-recovery. My instructor was young and a bit of a maverick, and took delight in what I considered back then as 'stunt' flying. I had PG off since my purchase because of my weak computer. With SU5 HF2, I can maintain 30 FPS with the Xcub even around Manhattan or running the Thames. So if it works for my 4770+1080 combo chances are it will work for you. Just a suggestion 😉

When "I'm on the ground" My rudder and flaps act crazy . I hold Rudder full left and it pops back to center, Hold rudder full right and it pops back to center. Try to set flaps and it flutters back and forth. "Now" this is what's puzzeling to me...... was that as soon as I get airborne, the control functions work fine. Haven't a clue what would cause this.

I had a CTD when I went into my control options, selected my controller and hit the left/right arrows to change my controller profile and CTD. I notice also that when loading up at the same airport at times I have random CTDs. I would have to load up at the same airport a 2nd time in order to get back into the sim. Not sure if this issue has anything to do with my wireless xbox controller. It's acting a bit strange.

Hi Guys, I have a very nice monitor for a mid-low PC (I liked the size of the screen). It is a 30" 4k monitor. I run 30 FPS cap (uncapped I get 35-45 in dense areas). Generally happy. Current display setting: 2560 X 1440 60HZ Monitor Options: 4K 3840 X 2160 native 4K 2560 X 1600 4K 2040 X 1536 Question, would you change anything here?
