Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

Is anyone still disappointed with the clouds with all the latest hot fixes? I just did my first couple flights after the updates and the clouds look horrible. I thought they fixed this?

Hey guys, fortunately SU5 has done real wonders for me regarding stutters plus I don't experience any CTDs, but there are still a few things I'd like to sort out: Is there a way to reduce the font size of tool tips without lowering the size of menu texts overall? I notice small "rainbows" whenever I am flying through clouds. It seems like GA planes (C172 for example) are more twitchy again. I first thought it has reset my sensitivities, but they are the same. Don't like that at all. I wonder if someone else experiences the same and / or has a solution for it. Thanks guys!

Hi All, If this should be in the hardware forum just let me know. So my new PC has arrived and it is a good piece of kit. I have downloaded FS2020 and the install went fine. The issue I have is that when I click to open FS2020 from the taskbar I will get a black screen that transitions into the opening splash screen and the programme loads no problems OR, I get a black screen that then disappears and I'm back to my desktop screen. It's almost like it has failed to start. I really don't know what the problem is. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't! Am I missing something here? The Firewall is all good and my broadband speed is also over 150…

1/ I found this site : Flying Floatplanes (krepelka.com) useful to brush up my basics 2/ If the aural warning aggravates you, I found that you can shut up the bitchin' Betty (and her cousin bitchin' Johnny) in General Options>Sound>Warning. Set the slider to 0 and save. This is a general setting so if you use another aircraft and need the warning (500 feet !), don't forget to put the slider back.

I used to be able to use the slew mode without getting CTD's past few months. Just got a CTD after slewing over Alaska in Cessna Longitude 38,000ft. Internet Stream is at 100mbps. Thanks. Tim

Hi Guys, Even after the hotfixes, I'm still getting lots of LOD popping on both terrain like mountains and buildings and objects as I pan. I thought this was one of the fixes. One of my favorite thing about MSFS prior to SU5 is that there was NONE of this. Every other sim has some level of it and I loved it so much because when they're present, it really breaks the immersion. Clouds also look pixelated when you get up close to them. Anyone else seeing this as well? Overall, this thing still blows any other sim out of the water, but I really hope they can get back to how there were no pop-ins, like before SU5.

I am noticing this some of the time during my flights. It happens either around take off, where the plane will sometimes go into this brief stutter/pause moment for a few seconds and then resume back to normal. It seems like it's wanting to load something in or update weather? I'm not sure, but it's quite an immersion killer for me. Happens on all planes ranging from TBM, C172, FBWA320, Xcub, etc. So I don't think it's tied to the plane. I have a fairly powerful system to, so don't think it has anything to do with the random stutters/pauses. AI Flight Planner developmental version for MSFS should be available for download in a few days: https://www.fsdeveloper.com/forum/threads/aifp-for-msfs.449121/ This is notable for a specific reason. Although several people have posted online that they were able to make FSX AI traffic BGL files work in MSFS, there was a suspicious lack of videos and tutorials showing how to do this. I could never get that to work. As it turns out, the format of the MSFS AI traffic BGL files is slightly different than the FS9/FSX/P3d file format. I took this long to test out the airliners as I am currently doing a lot of GA flying as I am doing a World Tour 🙂 Airport: KJFK Weather: LIVE - Cloudy and stormy skies Aircraft: FBW - Dev Version Graphics Settings: Mostly on Ultra with some High and a Terrain LOD of 5. Looks like both PMDG 737 and Fenix A320 will be entering beta testing in a few weeks (coincidence with MSFS anniversary?) and both of them are regarded as or anticipated to set the highest standard for Airbus and Boeing airliners in MSFS or even in the flight sim history. Hi guys, It's been a long time since I last used FS2020. Now I decided to return to it, and I was surprised by how bad the graphics are. I can' adjust anything on the KS 165 with the Carenado Seminole. Mouse won't move anything. Anyone see this?

Anybody know if there is a fix for this. I noticed when I go from the land to the water i get a blocky overlay over the water. HI, I just did a complete new windows install and msfs install after being away from MSFS for a few months. While flying the stock TBM I notice that when using my mouse the buttons along the bottom of the g3000 give me a NA message when I hover over them.. Is this because of this new mouse over system or is this a newish bug? Or is my tbm corrupted? Like I said its a new install no custom files or mods..I think those buttons worked the last time I flew msfs so what gives? thanks in advance.

So I had a flight that went smoothly until I landed at KSVN. The landing went fine, and I was slowing through the rollout, center of the runway, all of a sudden a window popped up saying I had crashed due to having struck an object. I was in the middle of the runway, no objects nearby anywhere. No buildings, terrain, nothing. This happened to me a while back once as well. Anyone else experience this?

I have found that on my system the popup HandleBar (or NoHandle Bar mod) does not work (the popup menu does not show) if I load a saved flight, but it does work if instead of using a saved flight I start out by selecting a departure airport and runway. I also have a strange issue related to both the NoHandleBar mod and standard popup HandleBar regarding the Shift+Z mod. With the latest version of Shift+Z, the Shift+Z key combination works to cycle through the Shift+Z display options, but only if I first use the Shift+Z icon which has been added to the popup HandleBar or NoHandleBar mod. So, I have been massively disappointed about crashes since SU5 and HF 1 and 2. HF 2 made no difference what so ever regarding my CTDs, in fact it felt almost worse. Three out of three attempts at flying ended in a CTD (after HF2) and I was seriously contemplating a LONG hiatus from this hobby. I rarely use dev-mode but figured I'd try it out (I was clutching at straws as I'd read somewhere that this one individual got no CTDs after running said mode). One thing stood out to me when I run the dev mode and that was a notification in the upper right corner about the existence of newer versions of the SDK. Hi everybody, I have a mysterious thing here: When you are on the worldmap and click on the dropdown menu of the airport you wand to start at, there pops up a list. And the first 3 airports on that list, are the last 3 you started at. In the German version this list is called "Chronik". I have 3 airports there, I started at weeks ago. And for 2 weeks or more I wasn´t there. So the list is like "frozen" and doens´t change anymore. And even more confusing: I reinstalled FS202 yesterday, and there are the same 3 airports from the very beginning. Does anybody else has this problem? Or even a solution?

I have not seen it announced elsewhere on here but FlyByWire has published an excellent Beginner’s Guide for the A32NX Overview - FlyByWire Simulations Guides As I have mastered (almost) the CJ4 I have just started practicing in the A32NX so I for one will appreciate this help enormously.
