Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

Does anyone know if there are some values one can tweak (in .cfg or something) so that pooled water stays on ground for more than 30 seconds after the rain has subsided? I wish they had a slider or something for this. thanks

It's getting pretty darn crowded out there in the last few days! No matter where I go, it seems the skies are bursting with planes, and it makes me wonder just how many new Xbox pilots might be out there, zooming around. (any way to find out?) Does your sky look like this, now?

If like me you are getting CTD's on trying to exit the sim or returning to the main menu after a flight i solved it. Any mod that creates a CVT_ folder in your Community folder ( Henriks Shipping mod or the recent AI traffic mod for example) can cause it. Having been plagued by a menu crash every single time I flew, the removal of any mods with CVT_ folders solved it instantly. (I'm my case it was the AI traffic mod)

that's pretty much what it looks like here over central Colorado w/ the wildfires out west. Is this the post SU washout, or is it just more authentic rendering of whats there in the real world?

Hey all, Why is the only option to lock your fps to 30 or 60 fps? I fly my sim in 4k ultra settings. If I lock my sim to 60 fps my graphics card is running at 100% all the time and makes to much noise (GTX 1080ti) So I set it to max 30 fps. It works fine, I get almost 30 fps everywhere. However, I can feel the difference between 30 and 60 fps. And I do like 60 more then 30. Why isn't there an option to set it to 40 or 50? Does anybody still use an external framerate limiter? I used it a lot for FSX and P3D 32-bit Robin

As well if you're still not able to select servers you have to turn Multiplayer on for that to work now. I have lots of RW live traffic in the G3000 display, I can see planes when they land, but I no longer see their beacons/nav lights in the air. Anyone found a way to reenable this? During flight today, all was well until ATC requested the initial descent from cruise to a lower altitude. New altitude was selected, VS & 2000ft/min descent. (AP on). The A/C would not descend. With AP 0ff, using manual control it would not respond to any manual control unputs. Pushing or pulling the column resulted in both cases a large IAS decrease. All other sitches etc. worked so it was not a full freeze. The pause was off & the partial puase (keyboard) was also not activated. Anyone seen this before. Using barebones TBM with only the WT3000 addon. Nothing else activated. Kev M

After the latest update, all the avionics equipment (GNS530, GNS430, autopilot, transponder, ADF) go blank. It seems that they are working but the screens just go blank. Anyone have similar problem? KK

I know it’s not out yet so who knows but can anyone speculate if you know how to handle the fbw A320 pretty much at a mastery level, Will you be able to fly the fenix a320? Or will it be a whole nother world? Lol thanks!

Hey guys, so first of all my System: (i7 10700k, RTX 2070 Super,Win 10 64, 32 GB RAM , Z490 Gaming Plus MoBo, Corsair 650 w 80 Gold PSU) 150k Internet speed I have the problem, if I fly on (ultra settings) over the Mount Everest and the nearby mountains, the mountains change. Its like the mountais are moving. So if I fly over a mountain ridge for example, the Slope is just changing, like moving. And then it stops. Or distant mountains pop out of nowhere. <--- you can watch it in this youtube video from like minute 2:40 - 2:45 on the left side, the slope is moving. Hi all, I have just tried my first flight in the King Air 350i. It looks a great aircraft but my impressions flying it were not so good. Now i am not a flight sim expert so am happy to concede to the experts on here but I felt it wasnt quite right. This is the problem with MSFS right now, you are left wondering if you are at fault, your controls are at fault or the game has a fault. The aircraft seems to take off like a rocket, but there is hardly any difference between 10% throttle and 90% throttle. This is quite annoying and happens randomly. I am using a wireless xbox one controller but this started happening recently after SU5. Sometimes My right and left axis sticks will lose it's settings. For example in cockpit view, I won't be able to pan around, because the axis sticks are mapped to rudder, throttles, airlerons, etc. In order to fix the issue, I have to quit the sim, and reload. I'm not sure what's causing this. But perhaps maybe I need to turn on my controller before I launch the game? But even so, that shouldn't matter. I never had this problem before, whether I turn my controller on before or after I launch the sim.

I landed in Edinburgh airport yesterday only to find the terminal buildings had been sold off (apparently) as in the picture. Went back to Main Menu and loaded up a flight out of the same airport and the building reappeared. How odd!

Is there a one with all glass cockpits such as a g3000, gtn750 or g1000 equipped?

I think it is well known, the altitude not being correctly acknowledged by ATC. But I've also noticed my heading is now so far off from where it seems like it should be. Here in this shot which the moving map is heading straight into the wind vector, and the map is out at 100m, I'm 10 miles from the heading line in the top down view, yet shows I'm on it on the outer displays. Someone had commented this is normal when there are side winds that are compensating but as I say it's a direct headwind:

Hi, Just wondering if anyone is experiencing this also. On all GA Prop planes, after flying for about 1-3 minutes, my G1000 screens go blank and there’s nothing I can do to restart them, except to reset the flight. This is a problem that I have had prior to SU5. But I was hoping that it would be cured by the update or hotfix, but no such luck. I have already gone thru the process to see if any of my hardware would be interfering in any way, but could not find anything. Community folder is empty. I have no addons. Hi! Have SU5 installed and find that the aircraft throttle isn't working in the three aircraft I've tried: Cessna 152, 172 and Caravan. I'm using a CH Eclipse. The weird part is that the throttle in the cockpit follows the movement of the CH throttle fine, but for some reason the engine doesn't respond. Has anyone else had this? And any ideas how to cure it? Thanks!

While I'm still waiting on my official support ticket, I figured I'd try with AVSIM. I purchased FS2020 from Steam and installed it on my SSD gaming drive. The simulator instantly crashes when I click "Fly Now". It doesn't matter what aircraft, airport, time of day. I have no addons, modifications, or changes to the community folder. This is a fresh installation. I can comfortably do, any deep-diving suggestions people can think of. After the latest update as well as the hotfix (happened before and after), every time i am in the sim, esc to a menu to change settings, etc., and return back, my engines shut down and I can't turn them back on. Anyone have this issue too? thanks

Over the last two days I made a couple of 2 hours flights using FBW's A320Neo and noticed that towards the end of those flights framerates dropped ~50%. From ~40 fps to <= 20fps. To make sure that this degradation was caused by "something" during the flights, I restarted FS2020 and positioned the FBW A320Neo at the same spot where the previous flight ended, using the same weather conditions (live weather). After this restart framerates were up to the new normal again (~ 40 fps). Am I the only one experiencing this phenomenon? (This only happened since SU5 HF2, by the way). Can it be caused by FBW's A320Neo (a memory leak) or is it FS2020 to blame here? None of my sett…

With SU5 the maximum possible altitude has decreased from 275,000 feet to 249,999 feet. It does seem to internally track your altitude above this level if you have positive vertical speed as it will take some time with negative vertical speed before you drop below 249,999 again. In no case can your aircraft actually go higher than 249,000 feet except in slew mode, where the old 275,000 foot limit is still in effect. Maximum airspeed however has been increased from ~2700 KTAS to ~7100 KTAS. This is about half of orbital velocity for low Earth orbit and at 250,000 feet looks similar to watching the earth pass below from orbit. Strangely, properly designed/modi…

Sitting here waiting this out a bit. In position to perform a totally fresh install but wish to hold off, how do I best say this, until the fixes are coded into the installation itself, not added on as an installation followed by a separate hotfix. Like putting a new tire on a car, a tire that has never been punctured. LOL Anyone have experience with this yet?

As far as my system is concerned...SU5 (with latest Hotfix), I want to jump off the Update Train, and just stay now in SU5 HF city. Great performance, great visuals...smooth as silk....PLEASE...please, give me the choice to stay with this, or chance moving on in updates. Can you Asobo do that for me, please? Smooth sim.
