Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

Hey All, Hoping somebody might be able to help me identify the cause of these distortions? I'm pretty sure its related to heat blur but for the life of me I can't get rid of it. I've got everything on ULTRA at the moment and have gone through every setting in MSFS and removed/unchecked each individually in an attempt to reduce or remove the distortions without success. No tweaks in NVIDIA Control Plan - frames and visuals are otherwise really good. Anybody seen this before? Cheers,

I got the following system: RTX 3080 Ryzen 7 5800x 32GB Ram NVME ssd I play@ 3440x1440 or with an Index with 100% resolution scale. A few times now, I noticed that my FPS absolutely tanks randomly and when I look at the VRAM usage it is completely full. I only had it while using the Fenix A320, but that could be coincidence, since I didn't use other planes much since the issue occurred. Settings on flat were High/ultra, but I lowered all those ultra ones to high. On VR most settings are medium/low. I didn't use the sim for a few months and just recently came back and never that that problem. While the VRAM is not full performance is totally fine and smooth.…

I am setting up an IFR flight plan for an ILS 27R approach in the flight planner. I placed my aircraft on the world map and then chose ILS low altitude airways and then chose ILS 27R on the approach and started the flight. When I start the flight, I bring up PROC on the G1000 and select Activate Approach and BAM! Crash to Desktop. This happens on both my Beech Baron and Cessna 172. Anyone else having this? I'm now trying just to start an IFR flight plan with "automatic" approach and see if I can choose it from the G1000.

Used to be able to do that when a Weather/Time Icon was included in the set that appears at the top of the screen. That Icon is now missing. Is there any other way to change weather or the time during a flight, without having to back out to the Home screen & reset the flight?? T45

Hi just started playing around with neofly. I have come across an issue that i cannot figure out and wondered if anyone who has used it more can answer it for me. I have figured out how to use an ai pilot to fly a mission in an aircraft and assigning him to the aircraft to fly then add any market cargo to it and fly the route. but if i want him to fly a market flight only i find no way to add the ai pilot to the aircraft. any ideas if its possible and if so how?

I wondering if anyone else is experiencing CTD with Fenix? I'm on 1.0.1.95. Prior latest patch I didn't experience any CTD I have two consequent flight ended up with CTD . I tried different destinations both flight were long haul 4-5 hours. No time acceleration is used. In all cases CTD occurs near TOD (end of flight) I'm using display quality : performance and rendering: CPU P.S. I have already submitted the ticket and provided logs.

Hello, Ever since I upgraded to SU9, the ground textures when using bing data are absolute garbage. They are a blurry mess and then there are pockets of ground that look like the sim used default textures. I am using a wifi connection at around 70-100 Mbps. Has anyone else seen this? Any recommendations? Thank you.

How do I install the GTN 750 in the Piper Arrow. I have downloaded it and put it in my community folder but it doesn’t show up in the EFB on the Arrow. Do I have to install it somewhere else? Thanks

Hi all, I haven't been able to ascertain whether Fenix devs allow us end users to import our own sourced airport charts (pdf's) directly into the EFB. I don't need navigraph, as the tools I have at my disposal are more than sufficient. Otherwise if not, that would be a shame as it would be tantamount to a "Captive Market".

I have a problem with slowing down the 737 during the approach. I can see the FMC message " drag required " when I set the speed brake, I can see in the cockpit that the lever is fully deployed, and on the wings, the speed brakes are up, so everything seems to be ok, but it has absolutely no impact on speed. The aircraft is not slowing down, the descent rate is not increasing, and the engines are not increasing power. Nothing is happening just the animation. I also tried to deploy speed brakes during the cruise, animations are ok, but no impact on speed, or on engines. is it some knowing bug? or am I missing something? Any tips?

Unfortunately I do not have a lot of time to learn a lot of complicated airplanes, so I need to think about how I want to invest my time. And that got me thinking. If I bought the PMDG 737 how well would that knowledge transfer to say the 777, or the 747? What other ac would I have a good jump on if I learned the ins and outs of the 737? Same exact question about the Fenix A320. I guess I am trying to figure out if learning one vs the other has additional benefits if I buy other ac, so I can decide which one makes the most sense. I use a Razer Viper Ultimate mouse with FS2020 and it's been great for the most part. Today, however, they ran an automatic update on the software (and its gaming optimizations). As I was starting FS I noticed a small rectangular overlay had appeared in the sim window (upper left). This appeared about halfway through the startup sequence, and stayed there, appearing over all menus and in the sim itself after I spawned at the departure airport. The overlay was basically a clock with a frame counter: actual time, game time, and frames. I really don't need this info and I especially don't want it in my flight window. Since I found and started using Open XR Toolkit with my Rift S, along with these two excellent aircraft, my sim has never ran better. The FBW is outstanding, PMDG did a phenomenal job on the new B737-700, and using the Open XR pretty much killed all the lagging, flashing, tearing, shredding, stenciling, skipping, stuttering, etc. I only have framerate issues now, but it is consistent using AIG and fairly high graphics settings with lots of mods. I am getting anywhere between 20-40fps (mostly 22fps) and I can live with that until better stuff comes along. But after 40 years of using MSFS/others waiting for this tech, I would say they have finally achieved it. Now everyone …

The 'Readme' for the gns530 mod found here: https://github.com/pimarc/pms50-gns530 states the following: "The original logic for the loading and activating of an approach has been changed. Here is how it works now: Loading If you choose an approach and just load it, it's then added to the flight plan but not activated. It's up to the pilot to activate it or not (activate approach in procs menu). Activating If you activate the approach the autopilot goes directly to the first approach waypoint by a direct To." What do people think is the most complete currently? I know from Youtube videos the Simionic one has synthetic vision and status pages like GPS status. Not sure about the Working Title one. The reason i ask is I'm getting hardware panels so will be locked to one G1000 provider.

Hi all I am constantly getting connection lost errors and the Bing Data world graphics turning off I did a short flight from NZMF to NZQA, (about a 20 min flight) and had it disconnected about 10 times. Anyone else getting these errors? When I get them the sim keeps rolling but my controls are locked, making landings shall we say somewhat interesting as I got one just before touch down Please note My internet is fine Best wishes Bob

When I set it in the quick menu, it resets every time I go out of the drone. I cant find any speed setting for the drone in the camera menu in the esc menu.
