Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

Your help please. After Microsoft dropped its network yesterday( June 12-13), I have just now (June 13) retried to start the simulator only to discover that MFS now wants to rebuild everything as from new. It asks for accessibility options. Then for graphics settings. Then for a rebuild of the “custom” settings for the controllers. At this point I stopped the simulator, hoping that a restart would reset my settings to those that I have laboriously built over two years of experimenting and tweaking. (This labor is especially detailed on the custom settings for the controllers.) So far, repeated attempts to restart hit this roadblock. (I am properly signed on at both …

Has anyone ever solved the problem of the MSFS Content Manager simply spinning when clicked, and not opening? I heard I should remove all mods from the Community folder. I removed most of them and it finally opened. I put them back in and it doesn't open. That's ridiculous! Is there a fix for this so that the mods I have can actually be checked for updates as well? Appreciate any tips on this one. Stan

As much as I appreciate the world updates, especially as they are free, I cannot get my head around the existing issues in the game and wishing Asobo would concentrate on those first. It feels a bit like the WU are the finer details when the base product is still not sorted out. Perhaps I'm in a minority but would much prefer to see update news for the following, rather than getting another World Update... 1. Live Weather 2. Live traffic 3. AI ground handling 4. ATC 5. General aircraft handling improvements 6. Trim wheel issues 7. Snow effect on different surfaces 8. Other irritating bug fixes

With an increasing number of products being available through Orbx Central, I'm wondering if there's any advantage or disadvantage purchasing through Orbx Direct, or, is it preferable to purchase a standalone copy via the publisher direct - for example, I just purchased Aerosoft's EBBR for MSFS via Orbx Direct. However, I did pontificate for a while as to whether or not I should purchase from Aerosoft! 🙂

I'm perplex to read in the recent development update/bugs reports: "Horizont line through mountains - NOT PLANNED". This bug is known since the beginning and if I recall correctly, it was always said "under investigation" Does that now mean that they don't care any longer?

Hey, If I misplaced my question please (re)move it and let me know. For a month my msfs, steam edition, is stuttering enormously after around 20 min after takeoff till the moment I shut msfs down. Therefore, it was working completely normal. I've keep msfs and my gpu etc. updated so that shouldn't be the problem. Would be interested to know if you have an idea regarding this problem because in this way, it is impossible to fly... Specs: RTX 3060 i710700 KF 32 GB RAM MSFS on a SSD drive

Anyone know if its possible to stop the autostart of the TDS GTNxi ? Maybe its my old school thinking but I perfer not to have an app start when I am not using it and I only have the TDS on the Chancellor 414 so why start it when I am flying another aircraft.

Hi fellow pilots, When the cat (or my wife) jumps on me during a flight or if I have an urgent need to fill my bladder (or more often, considering my age.. to empty it) I pause the simulator, either by using the dedicated button, or by going to the menu. Nothing extraordinary about that. But the PC really struggles as soon as I resume my flight. Fps drops to 4-5 and I have no choice but to stop MSFS. This happens 8 out of 10 times, mostly with complex aircraft. Are you facing this problem? An idea? Thanks!

I have the addon Simple Traffic, yes I get a lot of planes at the gates, but my main issue how do I get to actually see planes in the air while I am flying ? I see a lot of traffic up in the air on the Microsoft map10 or 12 planes, but when I check external views I never see the planes, ever, ever. I have been flying for many many years, where are the planes ? See them on the map while flying,, where the heck are they???? Seriously, how do I fix this problem, or is this just a plain old bug?

Hmmm, I'm afraid the same virus that hit me in MS FLIGHT times is now back again... Flight Challenges Addiction Virus ... I have been trying to fly the various F-18 challenges, namely the carrier landing. In the carrier mission they mention the takeoff & landing tutorials, but where are these ? There's a takeoff challenge, and I did that one where after takeoff you have to keep 10º pitch and then as you go past 300 knot indicated you chang to 45º for the climb to 10,000' but, where is the mentioned carrier takeoff tutorial ? Also, why should one set he throttles to MIL power after being successfully arrested ?

Hello, I normally work in China, but I have been stuck here in Europe for almost 3 years, waiting to get back to China. My issue is that when I get back to China I will want to purchase MFS2020 but I am not sure if I can download it in China. Here is my question: Can I purchase it here on my laptop and store the installation files on a hard drive and transfer it to my main flightsim PC in China when I get back to China? Three years away from my PC and I feel like a beginner all over again! Thank you in advance for any help Paul

Sorry if I'm in wrong area. I'm totally confused. Brand new win11 gaming system.. MSFlight sim 2020 premium disc version bought online. I started the disc install, but then I found out you need a Microsoft account. So I created one. Then submitted my activation code thru the ms game store. Which prompted me to download the software again. I'm not exactly sure what sim version I have. I tried to open the program and it instructed me to use an Xbox game controller. My old sidewinder joystick won't work. How can I get back to a simple disc install. What's my best option. Not the same as 2004. So simple. Thx

As the title says my Dublin Airport from MKS has no jetways. I have tried reinstalling the scenery but that didn't fix my issue. The terminal textures are also flashing. I know its an issue with MSFS but the flashing is way worse than it is at any other airport.

Hello, is there a way to make sound of ai planes higher? for example, while taxiing, i cant hear ai planes near me from the cockpit. Just outside is good, but inside my plane: can i adjust the volume? In MSFS volume settings, i have all 20 percent, and "other aircraft" set to 100 but nothing changes. thanks in advance!

Just curious if there are any issues (i.e. sensitivity while turning/climbing) when using a yoke vs a stick which is what the airbus was designed around. Thanks Bill

yesterday i did a flight A-B-C. In my logbook msfs save the flight A-C. Does anyone experience that? Is Asobo aware of that?

I thought I'd try out AIG-Traffic and for fun I loaded up FlyTampa CYYZ just to see what the traffic looked like. To my surprise I noticed most of the liveries sitting at the gate were "AirAsia" A320's, which the aircraft type made sense as I had loaded the FENIX Airbus. But the AirAsia A320's I believe are mainly used for domestic flights and I would not expect to see AirAsia at Pearson unless it was a wide-body A330 or A350. Maybe my AIG setup has gone amiss somewhere. EDIT: ...Is it possible the AIG TC mistook the AirAsia livery for an Air Canada one?

Is anyone suffering Longitude cockpit display freeze ups? I've noticed a problem the last couple of weeks with the Longitude on my system. I'll be flying and everything will be progressing fine -- and then the cockpit autopilot numbers will freeze. I can turn the knobs, but the altitude and the speed control and the VS, etc. never show a change. Oddly, however, the Longitude does obey the commanded inputs anyway. When I switch to external view, the altitude, speed, heading, etc. are shown to have changed in response to my input. Back in the cockpit, however, the displayed numbers remain the same as before. This quirky behavior has occurred about half a dozen times for me …
