Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

It was fun watching the live announcement of the 40th anniversary edition during the XBOX Showcase on Sunday. I got the impression that WU X is also going to be disclosed during an event today - but I can't seem to find the event. Have they disclosed which stream or broadcast the announcement will be made on? Does anyone have a link? Thanks!

Since this week's update, my cursor is behaving strangely. When I start the sim and start flying, the cursor is shown as an arrow as it should, and when I put it on a clickable spot it changes to the hand with one finger up, as it should, and when I put it on a rotating dial, it changes to the circle arrow, as it should. But, about 15 to 20 minutes into the flight it somehow changes. It stays as an arrow when I put it on a clickable spot and when I put it on a rotating dial. I was wondering if anyone here could give me an example of where their control sensitivity settings for the 737 are? I'm having trouble getting them to feel right with my saitek yoke system. Any help would be great. Thanks a lot Anthony

I want to fly the Fenix a320 but honestly the sounds are awful. It ruins it for me. So quiet! The rumble of the startup and the great sounds FBW have. So I have gone back to the FBW A320. But now I’m having this weird problem where the autopilot in cruise and climb will just randomly disconnect and can’t be turned back on. It’s super annoying. I believe it’s a joystick sensitivity setting problem or dead zone. Can someone who has a Logitech 3d extreme please share their joystick sensitivity settings that are proven to work? I’d really appreciate it. Thanks!

I am sure this has been discussed before but I wonder how most of you like to start a flight with a plane like the Fenix A320. I myself somehow have the idea or feeling that in order to do things properly and realistically you just have to start in cold and dark. That's how the pro's do it. Period. But... I also know that real world flights more foten will start with some sort of turn around state. I have a 1 GB download speed, and now, for the last half hour, no matter where I try to fly, I get YOU HAVE TOO LOW BANDWIDTH, SWITCHING YOU TO OFF LINE MODE. Yeah right... This is the true fatal of MSFS...you need to be live to a server...and here is the result...M.S. can't handle the current demand...

Has anybody ever figured out how to set precise wind speed in MSFS. If I set 4.4km/h (yes it says "km/h") I get 29kts. Also, what is the meaning of the "gust" value. Added to wind speed? It seems to be even worse. Even though ATIS says 29 kts, I get only 7 kts in the air.

For a long time my MSFS install has been mostly stable and have not experienced a lot of problems many have suffered from. However the past few days its has been a nightmare. First issue is now every time I first launch MSFS after a few seconds it says it can't find my account and that I may need to log into the MS store even though I am actually logged in. Usually logging out of the MS Store and logging back in fixes it. 2nd issue is I seem to be plagued by connectivity issues and MSFS wants to switch to offline mode even though my connection is stable. Usually just hitting ignore or whatever its not actually an issue. Occasionally I get no warning but when my flig…

Does anyone have a problem with FSRealistic opening partially? I have the trial version and like it but it opens in a small window that cannot be resized. I can't access all the menu to change anything is the profile, nor do much of anything else. Could it be because it's a trail version? I thought it was supposed to be fully functional. It seems to work ok, just can't change or adjust anything. Thanks

Hi all, I am looking to purchase a new small /medium sized aircraft to use with Air Hauler 2. I have been using the default Cessna Caravan, but would like to add a new one to my fleet that is perhaps a bit more in-depth and different to fly. I know the new Fenix and 737 aircraft are popular, but I am nowhere near close to affording those in the game so thought I would start smaller. I also fly mainly in the UK airspace, so it would be good to find an aircraft that suits, although I am prepared to push the boundaries of realism for the right purchase... Hi, so I have this problem with MSFS2020 whenever I try to open it. All it does is opens a black screen and immediately closes down. I have tried repairing and resetting the MS Store App, MSFS2020 App, Xbox App, and Gaming Services App... I have also tried signing out and singing back into any of these apps. I am up to date with all Windows updates as well as any updates related to these apps, currently on 1.26.5 (which was released today) but still won't open. Restarted my computer multiple times, disabled any firewalls, disabled anti-virus shields, but still nothing. I even tried uninstalling MSFS2020, but I can't install anything back because the app won't open to inst…

I started up MSFS and it told me I had to install and update, which I did. After it installed, I see the version number is still 1.25.9.0 Now I try to install the USA update, and it tells me I have to update MSFS to the latest version, so I am stuck, because the original update has already run and I can't re-run it.

Looking to see if anyones run across this issue, was coming in to land at CYYZ yesterday in the fenix, about 500 ft above ground the wind started climbing all the way up to 200kts, plane was hovering in place as my speed was obviously a lot lower.. never came across this one before, wondering if anyone has seen this?

Saw an excellent tutorial on YouTube by FS'ERS. The install looks lengthy, but the end result looks well worth it. Problem is, I can't get the AIG AI Manager to open. It should be a simple operation, open as admin, and the app should open, but it doesn't. Tried turning off Windows Defender, and anti virus, but didn't help. Anyone else have this issue or no how to get it going? Gnacino

FYI, this update has been released and looks great compared to what was released before. It seems some of us are having issues with the HUD and glass displays being scrambled but for those that can get this to work it's a great update. This update is dead in the water for me as my displays in this aircraft are all screwed up...😌😕

Okay, at first it was an annoyance that happened every 4th flight or so. Now, it happens every single flight I take (in the Fenix - haven't flown anything else in a couple of days now). No matter what airport or runway I take off of, as soon as the wheels are up, I start receiving ATIS. It plays right over top of the handoff to departure. I can get it to stop if I turn off all of the lights on the radio panel, but it's not making sense in how it behaves. If I turn off all of the lights on the Com2 receiver, it will stop. However, doing so also knocks out my side of the conversation with ATC. I can see my responses in the text window and I can hear ATC answer, b…

If I completely empty my Community Folder, will I still have all of the World Updates and all Marketplace purchased items in the basic game? In other words, will I have MS2020 just without third party add-ons? Thanks a lot!

I'm now getting this message on OpenXR Developer Tools (of which I know very little) "the active openxr runtime does not have a head mounted display system available. You may need to set up your XR platform or plug in your headset." Also in the sim, it says "no headset detected". I went through this exact thing a couple weeks ago and I had to set something in my registry to fix it. Nothing there has changed as far as I know. But I did today install SU10. My headset is indeed on and working and plugged in. I can see Oculus main page etc. just MSFS2020 is no longer detecting it. It was working fine up until this update. What's the fix? Thanks. E…

Greetings fellow simmers! I've put together a collection of various tips that might come in handy. Most of my flying is in airliners, so I've also included some recommendations for various websites and apps that might be useful for IFR flying. I have this annoying thing going on, when I start MSFS the window load "skew", so I have to maximize it. When I start my flight and change to firefox or do other stuff and go back to msfs the window is often again like in the picture below. Is there a setting that I am missing?

What is the purpose of the connection lost pop ups and 5 seconds later, it tells you that the connection is restored. A real PIA when trying to land.
