Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

Greetings. I get the notice to upgrade the USA, click it, get to the "store" and there does not appear any way to access the update. u=Used to be there would be the page to update what you have from MS. I'm stumped.

As I fly in Europe / Northern Africa only I have their PG cities installed and all others belonging to non EU WUs not installed. Is this still needed ? To be sure I only have WUs for Europe installed too. Would installing all of them have an impact on overall performance? Thanks in advance, Gerard

As I’ve been witnessing a more common occurrence of FPS dips and stuttering on final even though when taking off was originally smooth at the same airport I thought I’d test some things. The setting is Shoreham Airport (my hub) and to fly East along the coast, turn in land and come back again. I’m using the Inibuilds Shoreham for scenery and the Freedom Fox P42 ac. Initially I took off in the freedom fox and when I returned to Shoreham massive stutter and degradation of FPS was spoiling the experience so I landed and loaded up the same scenario but using the default Savage Club. Howdy. I just installed Air Hauler 2 but I am not getting any in sim messages when trying to do a type rating. I searched a bit and found I probably need FSUIPC so I installed that. Still no change. I opened a ticket with Just Flight, but wanted to check here to see if anyone else has encountered this issue and knows how to fix? Thanks for your time.

I have sent a request to Carenado, but have not heard from them yet. Thought maybe one of you can help. I am using MSFS 2020 and have bought several planes from the Marketplace and have been totally satisfied so far. I bought the Carenado PA Sky Master, the Seminole, and the Seneca. All came with documentations including the manuals. I just bought the Beech D-18 and it looks really good, but there is no documents file or manual. Have any of you bought this plane and found the documents folder or manual? Thanks

My mouse scroll wheel zooms in and out way to fast in MSFS. The software for the mouse seems to have no effect on it at all. How do I slow it down in MSFS settings? Thanks

Is there anyway to remove the co-pilot from the external view of the H-Jet? Usually I would delete it from the aircraft config, but that does not seem to be accessible, I assume because this is a marketplace item. Is there another way to achieve this?

Good afternoon, not sure what happend as i did not change anything. Yesterday everything was working fine but today the sim freezes. Sometimes after 10 min in the air and sometimes after 2 hours.... I had installed AIG and used ModelMatchingMagic (from flightsim.to) and everything worked superb. Than the last world appeard, I installed everything. Before installing I copied my Commnity folder to the desktop and remove everything from the commuity folder inside MSFS Folder. Since I read that this is better practice before installing a update for msfs. However, nothing is working now. When I start vpilot it says that it cannot match all the airplanes. When I open ModelMatchingMagic to create a new VMR file, I cant. I get the error message: Obviously it's not able to find a certain airplane. I normally fly the TBM and would like to change the standard pilots weight. Where is the .cfg file to do this please.

Anyone having issues with the Fenix EFB not saving all the options pages after changing them? Testing with the same livery every time at first it wasn't saving at all, now it just won't save the units or RA callouts settings. I'm running the latest version (the first patch that came out after initial release). I've been letting the Fenix launcher background thing auto start though when loading a flight so I don't know if I should try just manually opening the Fenix app before loading a flight?

Hi gang, Just a heads up about this issue that seems quite rare, but have been discussed briefly here and on the official forum. Thought I'd chime in with some info after struggling with the issue for 2-3 days. The issue: Just a short time after starting a flight, my internet connection completely shut down. There was no way to reset the connection as both the ethernet and wifi adapters were rendered useless. Only a Windows reboot would bring things back to normal. I could use the internet for hours - browsing, YouTube videos and so on. But just after starting a flight everything would disconnect again. It was 100% reproducible. I've spent several days t…

Some producers and vendors install their addons with Contrial. Contrail changed the update and installation procedure slightly. Now you have to click on 'Producers' on the left column and follow the prompts. It will ask you who made the addon, and ask you the vendors name where you bought it, and might as you for a registration number. The registration number, if needed, is at the site where you bought the addon. It took me awhile, over an hour, to realize I needed to click on that 'Producers' link to install a new airport and update another one using Contrail.

Not a complaint, but just wondering. I have been a user of every version or flight simulator since 1984. (yes I am old) That includes others that were not developed by MS. In the past it has been a pretty much a intuitive thing to set up everything in the sim. Without some sort of manual I can figure out how to set up and fly MSFS 2020 with the exception of the vast amount of views we have to choose from and what do they mean. It used to be I could set up my hat on my joystick and that would enable me to use that setting for cockpit and external views. I assume spot view is now drone view? I am recovering from a stroke and slowly returning to the game...playing left-handed, as right is impared for now...i have noticed that all the homemade bush trips and landing challenges are missing...they are still in my community folder (i use Add On Linker), but don't show up in the normal place in the game... I can't seem to make a purchase in the market place. When I hit the purchase button, the white box opens up for my password but it is just a blank white box with no place for me to sign in. Any ideas? LouP

Need ya help 🙂 Since last week, maybe after the sim update, not sure, whenever I change my settings, such as the use or not of Bing maps and photogrammetry, they're only active during the current sim session. Whenever I run MFS again the "SYN" popup appears, the sim apparently syncs it's data with the "Universe" and... I am back to the settings I had before since the day I decided to turn Off Bing maps and Photogrammetry as well as having AI traffic Off... Hi. Could I ask if anyone knows where the sound.xml file is located? It does not reside in the sound folder where the "MSCarenado_D18S.PC.pck" file is located as it is in every other planes sound folder in msfs I have ever seen. In the "E:\msfs\Official\Steam\microsoft-aircraft-d18s\SimObjects\Airplanes\MSCarenado_D18S\sound" I can see that it is the same for one other plane I have that is called microsoft-aircraft. All the other planes in official folder are asobo-aircraft and they have all the xml file along with the pck sound package file in their sound folder. It seems this absence of the xml file where the pck sound package is located is only for "microsoft…

Hi, Two questions: 1. Is there a chance to get another window inside the big MSFS window like FSX? For example we are flying in full screen and we have another small window inside with a wing view. 2. If we do a complete flight and we want to have a video to share about our flight, let's say a replay, how do we proceed? Hi, During the last couple of hours, the following message is popping up my MSFS 2020 screen: "Warning - Online services unreachable. Please check your Internet connection. My Grandson and his new bride spent their honeymoon in Bali, and loved it. My daughter asked me last night if I had ever flown to Bali in the sim, and I told her I had no idea where it was and would look it up when I got home. I went to my VA flight schedule and found many flights that had Bali as the destination ( WADD) I selected one, WICC to WADD, and frankly I was expecting an airport without much around it. To my surprise the departure airport looked great, beautiful trees and foliage all over, and departing out of the airport, the scenery was fantastic. I'm enjoying the aircraft, but Is the autopilot in the Beechcraft Model 18 shonky or what??? At the moment, it doesn't work (at all) with my PMS50. Even with all my PMS50 addons disabled (I use the Linker), I'm finding it works sometimes, but sometimes not. 1) Altitude and Pitch modes work fine. 2) Heading mode works fine. 3) Following the GPS route via the GNS and corresponding mode selector (the one behind the mixture levers) works in VOR mode but doesn't seem to work consistently/reliably in NAV mode. Obviously I'm not expecting full ILS/autoland functions (!!) but following a simple GPS route should work OK <??>. Any hints, anyone? …
