Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

Like the Topic says, which are your best Nvidia and in game settings for playing in 1440P (144hz) screen with the above hardware? Since I get different performance each time I play (weird, yes) - Im not sure any longer whats caused by the sim, network or my hardware. What should I be able use , you think?

This is a continuing problem that I have posted about before, but I have not received any help with. When I start the sim and start flying, in DEV MODE, the cursor is shown as an arrow as it should, and when I put it on a clickable spot it changes to the hand with one finger up, as it should, and when I put it on a rotating dial, it changes to the circle arrow, as it should. This only happens when flying in DEV MODE. It does not happen when flying in normal mode. But, if I put the cursor on any of the menu spots in the upper left of the screen like WINDOWS, OPTIONS, etc., and then put the cursor over any click spot in the panel of the plane, it somehow changes. …

I seem to remember using a flight planner in the past which - 1) displayed a map showing nearby airports, vor's etc 2) displayed a topography 'map' between the departure airport and the destination airport showing elevations so that you can be aware of minimum altitudes on a vor flight. Can someone please remind me which flight planner does these things Thanks John

MSFS works great but has some strange habits. Mine will not hold settings. If I go into the map to choose a flight location I get all the icons. I go to filter and set it so only airfields show. Next time I go in all icons are back...Now the other opposite is if I set the top selection autopilot and then leave the sim and later go back it still has that autopilot on. Strange.

Now and then I set my destination to VABB and every time the city is covered in gigantic smog. I get that ......but perhaps it's a bit overdone? there are other cities as well with this 'feature'.

Hello: I am using the Alpha Yoke with MS2020…I do not have rudder pedals (Yet!), so I have the “Auto Rudder” set to on…But, this seems to have no effect when trying to steer on the ground…Is there a way I can set my yoke to use the rudder control on the ground to steer? I hope this question is clear and thanks for your help to a new user of MS2020…

Hello guys - I did dozens of searches however I cannot find a way to disable my floating airport marker mileage icon on my MSFS which floats around the cabin screen. I don't mind the Icon but it often gets right in the way of my route information at times. Any idea to shut this off. Thanks Mike

I've discerned much improvement in the terrain mesh in WU10 (USA). I live in West Virginia, where any inaccuracies in terrain mesh become apparent immediately. We have flat roadways chiseled into the sides of sloping mountains. We have level baseball parks situated on the tops of jagged, angled hills. We have wildly meandering rivers snaking their way through the bottoms of valley terrain, surrounded by the Appalachian mountain range. West Virginia is known as The Mountain State. It could also be called The Terrain Mesh State. So I was especially pleased by WU10. I've already noticed innumerable improvements to the default landscape, not to mention the new photogrammetry …

after installing WU10 last night having issues, so first flight last night lots of weird ecam warnings and Gen 1/Gen2 fault lights on overhead. I put it down to not rebooting the sim after installing all the updates. It was late, went to bed. Tonight things going ok but literally all the displays on the autopilot have disappeared during setup so I can't see whether I'm in managed mode, can't see altitude nothing. The buttons respond like if I increase/decrease altitude the PFD changes. Had ZERO problems before WU10. Anyone else having issues? See below. I have flown in some areas but I can’t see any difference. Jorg Neumann said they used much better digital elevation data in some places, and I really wish Asobo could tell us where these areas are so that we could go there and really enjoy the update. US is so big. If we fly blindly, we might never see those enhanced terrain, and the update would be pointless. I remember they give us a map of different elevation for different part of US for last update. Please give us such a map showing all the terrain enhancement. FBW have this map that shows all A32NX aircraft currently online around the world. At least that what I understand this map to show. Found here: https://flybywiresim.com/map/ I don’t however see my flight, either by using the search function or looking on the map itself. What is required to get a flight to show up on this map? Transponder is on. Is it VATSIM only?

All my flights are on Vatsim, I have aig liveries installed, plus ivao xcl folder/files. I rarely get "red" warnings that vPilot cannot find an aircraft. I recently flew to an airport where a Honda jet was taxiing. The pilot had correctly assigned the aircraft ICAO as HDJT. I understand that I dont have a Honda jet model/livery installed, but vPilot/model matching inserted a generic Asobo twin jet airliner (787 type size) in place of the Honda jet. Is there a way of "forcing" vPilot to choose a more appropriate aircraft type if this situation happens again? How could I amend the VMR file to force it to display a "Citation" as an example if it sees HDJT agai…

Reinstalled MSFS including update 1.26.50 and all updates in content manager yesterday. Everything tested and MSFS operating perfectly. This morning I attempted to start MSFS and got the following error : This app can’t open MSFS cannot open because it cannot be found. The storage device might be missing or disconnected. Is anyone else experiencing this problem at the moment. Any assistance/advice to rectify would be greatly appreciated. noels7

I installed WU X today and noticed that after also updating everything in the Content Manager 'WU V: Nordics' shows up as PARTIALLY INSTALLED. And to the right of it stands DOWNLOAD AVAILABLE 8,50MIB (+ 8,68MIB ON DISK). So I clicked on INSTALL and it seemed to download some stuff and install it but after that I kept on reading PARTIALLY INSTALLED... So I completely uninstalled the entire WU V: Nordics update and then installed it again brand new... still have the PARTIALLY INSTALLED message...! Er...? i haven't posted on here for long time. but since this last update (WU X) I can't even get the game launched. everytime i try it says my bandwith is to low ( I have 500mb connection) , then when i try the blue line stops about 3/4 ways then freezes and i have to shut the game down with the task manager. does anyone have an idea what is causing this. thx very much.

I just got upgraded to the latest version of MSFS Premium (1.26.50) after re-installing on C:\Steam with lots of space and rolling cache on a 2 TB NVMe system drive. Are these dark clouds normal now in MSFS? Live weather is off. This is at KSFO (San Francisco). Also, after the latest upgrade shouldn't the bespoke airport KAVX look like the picture on the left below instead of what it is on the right? I have ORBX's KAVX but I don't have it installed in the Community folder. Thank you.

I noticed a few days ago that there is a dark, skinny rectangular box (maybe tow inches long by 1/2 inch wide) at the top left corner of my monitor screen. Yesterday, after I installed WUX, the box had some numbers in it, which looked like perhaps the time that elapsed since I booted up MSFS. Not sure what this is or how to get rid of it. When I am flying, it will blink at time. Anyone know what this is? Cheers, Pete

I was happy when I saw that we have finally Valdez. But unfortunately, something is going wrong there. MSFS Real Weather shows OAT > 10 °C at 1000 ft, but all is white and the sea is frozen. Is this normal mid June?

Is anyone using these 2 together and if so what do you have your flaps binded to. I've tried every setting on there and can't get them to work correctly. They'll either go up fully or down fully but no increments that I can find. Thanks!
