  1. I already use the msfs addon tool which is great, but given so many different avenues for updates these days, such as flightsim.to etc (which does at least email an update sometimes), is there another tool or way to track all updates in sum for everything.. im guessing not but figured id throw it out there just in case something has been developed? I thought maybe msfs addon tool would show if an update was available at least, if you put the link to the addon, but i dont think that works either? Any thoughts out there Thanks in advance

  2. With the multiplication of helicopters and floatplanes, it’d be very nice to be able to start a flight outside of an airfield at surface level and not at 1500 ´ above ground and have to slew down. Awkward ! I've just revived somebody else's older thread at the official forum on the topic. Feel free to vote for it. 142 votes is not much. https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/start-flight-at-any-position-on-the-ground-cold-and-dark-or-ready-to-go/240426/75?u=dominiquekl

  3. ...the creators of the Longitude mod and the TBM mod, respectively. Both of them worked dilligently across close to a dozen sim and world updates to make those planes eminently flyable and enjoyable Let's remember that the Longitude was complete trash upon release, with a range of 20 miles or so. Nice visuals but basically unflyable. The WT G3000 mod improved the avionics, to be sure, but this wouldn't have mattered without adjustments to the flight model. Not much could be done with the Turpoprop logic on the TBM, but Mixmugzs (and other related mods) did what he could --> getting the doors to open was definitely a "boss move". So, thanks agai…

I'm having difficulty in landing an aircraft. No matter where I fly, or in what aircraft B58 or Dahler TBM usually), during a descent, I get a CTD. I'm up to date on all updates and drivers and I prefer to fly within AH2 and use LittleNavMap too (both on networked PCs). It doesn't seem to matter how long the flight is, or what the weather conditions are. I'm running out of ideas on how to accurately identify the culprit. Is it something wrong in the autopilot, lack of memory (I've 4GB on the GPU and 32 Gb on the CPU) or what ?. The only consistent point where it CTDs is that I'm descending to an airport.

  6. Here I use 2 pc’s. 8700K @ 5.0 / 16 Gb 3600 mhz / 3090 / M2 / 1x 4K display 9740 @ 4.7 / 32 Gb 3200 mhz / 3090 / M2 / 2x 4K as one front view After the latest update the 9740 pc shows about 10-15% lower fps than before. No big issue as at Schipho EHAM with lots of Live Traffic (AIG) I can have 45 fps. With Vsync On and 30 hertz it is good. However, after flying for 2 hours the fps has dropped till 26 which means 15 ( vsync / 2 ). And the ac is flying at 35000 ft with little clouds over the Mediterranean…. Wheh I make the view smaller so it fits on 1 screen the fps stays low. Anyone experienced this ? https://www.dropbox.com/s/cfy2uza…

During a flight today, I noticed what appears to be a significant inconsistency in the depiction of the horizon in MSFS. While at N024.10 W070.00 flying heading 008 degrees at FL330 and with clear skies/good weather, the horizon to my left (west) was slightly lit (lighter than the sky and the sea). This is probably attributable to the setting sun. However, the horizon in front of me (north) and to my right (east) was identical to that of the horizon in the west, i.e., the horizon looks the same in all compass directions. In the old FSX world, in a similar situation the horizon to the east would be pitch black....as it should be. Has anyone else noticed this p…

I can run the simulator and it loads fine and I have configured everything in options etc etc. 4. However whe…

I just had the most wonderful Saturday afternoon. I earned my PPL in 1983, acquired 165 hours VFR in increasingly complex aircraft culminating in time in a Beechcraft Debonair, then gave up the hobby in 1987 when kids arrived. Wife was nervous she would be left a widow and the kids seemed more important to feed vs. buying avgas. I've been in the IT business, so I've had pretty stout computers and have gone through the gamut of FLY, MSFS, MS Flight, and X-Plane in the ensuing years. As much as people moan and groan on here, you have to be honest and respect the fact that we humans have created something incredible in these products. Even with all its warts, the n…

Hello, I was wondering if anyone here is using Starlink and can share their experiences with how well it works with MSFS 2020. I'm looking to move to a place where Starlink is the only viable option for broadband internet and I'm skeptical how well it would work for gaming in general and how well it would work for MSFS 2020 in particular. Thank you!

So first and foremost, if you have feedback you want iniBuilds to read about their A310, you can do it here. I don't think iniBuilds reads Avsim, so don't expect your complaints to be read by iniBuilds here at Avsim. Alternatively, if you are on the iniBuilds Discord, they will probably read your feedback on Discord too. Having said that, my first impression is that the iniBuilds A310 is an FPS killer. I get 40 to 45 FPS around Vancouver with the PMDG 737-800. I am using the FSimStudio CYVR, and I play at 1920x1080 resolution, most settings at Ultra, with a few settings like Render Scale at 100, TLOD at 200. With the iniBuilds A310, I get like 25 FPS, far lower th…

Im realy just curious why Asobo did choose to use lit texture maps for the rwy and taxi lights instead of dynamic lights. X-plane uses dynamic lights and it looks much better. I cant understand that asobo did choose to not have dynamic lights on the runways and taxiways but all other places in the sim.

Curious, at this point in the sim, are there any FPS hits using photogrammetry over autogen? I have read a lot but nothing in the past year relating to FPS hit (on or off). Not to worried about 2-3 FPS but can it save more then that? Thanks

Hi Hopefully this is the correct forum for this topic. I have been using Saitek x56 since MSFS 2020 commenced and buttons (bindings) being used (my selections) with no problem until an update to the simulator yesterday. That update created havoc with my sim especially with with the bindings associated with Saitek x56. After many (and I mean many)hours spent, including Google, Avsim and FlightSimulator research I have managed to get all buttons, axis working correctly except the allocation of Button 4 on the flight stick. Screenshot_11436×681 105 KB Button 4 has always been titled "Cockpit and Outside Views (L,R,U,D) and gave …

  19. The PMS50 version of the GTN750 mod is designed for be compatible with the PC12 among other aircraft, and has been working in the past. However, recently it stopped working - the on-screen buttons are now almost all unresponsive. I have removed all other mods from my Community Folder (except for liveries and scenery) but the problem remains, so it is not a conflict with other aircraft modifications. I have also tried removing and then reinstalling both the GTN750 (which works in other aircraft) and the PC12. Does anyone else using the PC12 find the same thing? Has anyone found a solution? I find that responses from Carenado and almost always slow coming, and…

  21. Hello, I've been playing around with converting some King Air liveries for use with the Blacksquare King Air. While I've been successful in getting two of them converted, I can't seem to get rid of the default Asobo registration. I went into the aircraft.cfg file and removed the registration anywhere I could find it...I'm guessing there's something else I need to change in that file but I'm not sure what it is. Any advice? Thanks, Dave

Yea I know here we go again but I'm living mostlly outside and when I look up an see some awesome Cirrus or even a contrails mix I got to think man MSFS would rule with that stuff. I'm thinking that these cloud types are outside the current Wx parameters but how about adding simple 2d layers to simulate what we should be seeing. Accuracy and 2d image display wouldn't require a major performace hit but the immersion factor would be huge. sp

TDS will soon release an update for addons which allow for use of both TDS GTN and WT GNS (the new early access version in the Marketplace). At the moment, addons like the Carenado PC12, Black Square Analog KingAir, and Blackbird (Milviz) C310, which use allow for a selection of GNS or GTN units, will not work completely. Both units will fight for control over the autopilot. Addons such as the FSW C414 are unaffected by these new GNS units because FSW has defined a set of avionics per model. Here's my screenshot showing the TDS GTN 750Xi next to the WT GNS 430. At the moment no variables are shown on the GNS430. It may be possible, later, to have a secon…

Hi guys, Does anyone out there think the photogrammetry ground textures look a little washed out/soft since the SU11 dropped. The buildings and textures do not seem as sharp as they did in SU10 a little soft around the edges, also seems not as colourfully dynamic as they were previously. Thoughts? Regards
