Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

I was wondering if anyone is aware of any utility that can change or modify FS2020 airport or afcad files? I want to manually choose what runways that is used for takeoff and landings like we were able to do with earlier versions of FS2020. (FS 2004 or FSX). Thanks for any help mor suggestions. Regards

In order to manipulate the joysticks on the Longitude's GTCs, I switched over to the "lock mode" interaction scheme, and found it to be quite intuitive and easy to use. Not sure what all the bellyaching is all about. So, have a smell of what The Lock is cookin'.

I currently have all AIG traffic in P3D and I've just started using MSFS alongside P3D. Can I install traffic in both sims at the same time (well not install at the same time, but can I have AIG in both programmes)? Also, how do I get rid of the default MSFS traffic once I've installed AIG? Thanks so much

If you’re looking for something real world to do that will give you a chance to hone your helicopter skills, might I suggest power line inspections. Check out this video from a lineman who had the chance to go up in a Bell 206L to do some line inspections (it’s otherwise a fascinating channel if you’ve ever wondered how all the stuff you see on utility poles works). Happy New Year, All! I'm flying the MSFS Baron58 with dynamics mod, and when I try to land in a crosswind, the landing goes well until I hit the runway. Once I'm on the runway and trying to slow down (toe breaks), my rudder seems to no longer work and my plane heads straight into the wind like a weathervane and off into the grass I go. No matter how many times I've tried crosswind landings (15+knts), the same thing happens. It's like my rudder no longer works. Also, when I use my toe breaks to slow down in the crosswind landing, my plane acts like its going to flip over so I release the brakes and I head off into the wind. It's so strange. Hi everyone, New user coming from FSX/P3D here. In FSX/P3D I had a registered FSUIPC that I used mostly for joystick assignments. Do you recommend to install FSUIPC for MSFS and if so should I buy a license or use the free license (as I recall)? Thanks.

We are seeing some good news about the Longitude and AAU beta. Any reports on the CJ4? Particularly interested in flight model updates. I have Deluxe version and will not probably update to get the Longitude. Thanks in advance for any reports.

You are all hereby invited to participate in the Sim Soaring Club Nikolsdorf to Hoefen 280. 280km through the Alps in January with an 18 knot S wind. Expected completion time ~ 2 hours. Expect 25-35 pilots for a typical SSC flight. It's a serene experience soaring among other gliders, and a game of chess as you try to read the environment.

Need some help on the rudder disconnect button. When I depress it (and it gets stuck in the down position) to disconnect the rudder pedals from the NWS mechanism for a flight control check during taxi, it disconnects the rudder pedals from the rudder... I can't move the rudder at all. Not sure if I set something up wrong with regards to hardware. Otherwise the rudder/tiller mechanism works as it should.

Random question but lately I have noticed that my mouse is lagging. I will move the mouse and it will either take a millisecond to catch up to my movement or it will move, lag, then move again. Does anyone else get this? If so, Is there a fix? It can get difficult at times turning dials and switches as it makes the mouse hard to control. Thanks!

Anyone have the issue on the Cessna 414 where the manifold and EGT gauge needles twitch at some time into the flight? Not sure what is causing it but it continues until I shut down the engines. I find it has a bout 100-150" of variance.

It's available on their website now. What is the difference between that version and the marketplace one? I've never purchased anything from the marketplace and I recall them saying they would never release it anywhere else as it was "geared" toward Xbox customers. I'm interested in flying the longer variant and have always hesitated from buying it from the marketplace.

seemingly - ever since the new update to LM - I have quite a few CTDs which the sim seems to blame the LM needing too many moves to hold onto the sim Am I alone in this ?

I have been operating MSFS without problems for around 3 months, but on the last attempt to launch it, having double clicked the desktop icon, nothing happened and an App appeared asking if I wanted to make changes to my device. The App was titled "Microsoft Store Package Dependency Installer. Selecting yes brought up a page from Microsoft Corporation Gaming Services. There was no indication about what to do, so I rang MS Tech Support. They suggested that I carry out a Windows 10 update, but this did not resolve things. Hi All Is it possible to have a MSFS install on more than one drive? (MS Store purchase) Reason I ask is that my main SSD containing my MSFS install is nearly at capacity, so I was wondering if I can simply put future updates (mandatory/world etc) on a new drive (if so, how do you do this?) or whether I need to move everything (existing instal plus future updates) on to a new larger SSD drive so all in one place. My preference would be to leave existing instal where it is and just put future updates on new drive, but am not sure if this is possible? Any thoughts/help gratefully received. Thanks

I have been a user of TrackIR 5 for many years and just changed to Tobii Eye Tracker 5. It is such an improvement for me. I don't use VR and have no plans too. So this just works for me right out of the box. I am manly a low and slow pilot and don't do tube liners and just like to look around. The Tobii is such an immersion improvement. It just works.

When simulating the Youtube demo flights of the new version HJET, loading flights and procedures in the G3000 works very well. However, when I start selecting my own flights with different airports, I frequently find that procedures that show up on the procedures page will not load. Sometimes it only "loads" one procedure like arrival, or departure etc. I do not have a subscription to Navigraph, however this should not be related to these problems. I don't see if I overlook something here. I also made sure that the selected Transitions between flight segments were logical and made sense. Any help or proposal is very much appreciated!!
