Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

Have noticed lately that the runways at both departure and destination airports have texture issues when there's snow cover. Below shots from today during a flight at Lake Superior to Thunder Bay. I am using the latest @Zinertek from the market place... Anyone else having the same issue?

What are your reasonable wishes that you most want to see from the sim and add-on market in 2023? With all the 40th anniversary content and the massive performance improvements from using DLSS in SU11, I am really happy and grateful to MS / Asobo for the update. To all the grouches, naysayers, and sim-snobs, who constantly moan about lack of absolute accuracy, you can take a hike and go and wallow in your own discontent. Hi everyone Firstly happy festive season. I am trying to assign the collective and cyclic for a helicopter in fsuipc. I have the paid fsuipc 7. I do not see any helicopter axis options in the fsuipc . Can you please advise do I select the general aeroplane axises. Looking forward to your suggestions. Qas

MSFS was working fine last week, but now 90% of my flights that I create from the world map screen will not load past 50% on the blue progress bar before it stalls out. Are there any tips or tricks to get past this? Yes i emptied the community folder and turned off the anti virus.

Is anyone having any issues with the performance of IniManager from IniBuilds? It seems to be taking forever to get anywhere after clicking, can't even buy Detroit directly from it.

Hi folks, I happen to have a bit of Christmas money burning a hole in my pocket and am trying to decide between a couple of things. First I thought I may try something different and look at the PMDG DC-6, though I'm seeing conflicting reviews on it, then thought about perhaps the Visionjet from FlightFX. I do however already have their Hondajet and am wondering if they will be too similar. Side note, FS2Crew release for the 737, thinking about that as well. Any feedback from the aficionados here?

Hi guys, Merry Xmas.... Question - Is it me or is MSFS 2020 frightened of it's own shadow....The slightest little issue with a USB device brings the program to a shuddering halt...If I am flying and I hear (the now dreaded) ping of a USB device being naughty I freeze for anything up to 2 minutes whilst praying I don't crash out of the program. If I am loading and again hear the ping of a naughty USB device I freeze completely and have to use task manager to exit I dare not touch anything in case I upset a USB device and then that's me finished... Twice now the power to all my electronics in the Cessna C208b (Black Square Analog version) has been lost halfway thru a 160 mile flight. The engine keeps running and controls work but no instruments or readouts. Is this a common thing? Probably some kind of failure in the aircraft. Has anyone had this issue and have a suggestion as to what to do about it? Thank you. Martin

9 times out of 10 I get stuck on checking for updates screen right after the first splash screen. The only solution I found is disabling my internet connections and start the game offline, then enable back the connections, go inside the options and enable all the online features. Is there a better solution around?

OK I'm probably way behind here but just realised you can mouse scroll sliders to be very precise! Back when MSFS launched sliders like time of day used to have a control so you could increase minute by minute. This was removed eons ago, meaning you could left mouse click the slider but for example, to set time of day EXACT like 13:31 UTC it was a pain in the backside. Just now I've realised if you hover over the slider and mouse wheel up or down this changes the slider in precise increments. Hahahaha game changer!

When flying Multiplayer a year or so ago I could see the "Name Tags" of other fliers, on the same Server. That rectangular label up in the sky with the flier's 'Name" in white letters Flew a Multiplayer yesterday & I could see on the VFR map there were other aircraft participating, but I could not see any aircraft/flier "Name Tags" Have they been removed? Is there a setting that gives the name Tags? T45

I started MSFS today, and it is completely reset to default values after the update. I was able to turn off all "assistance" and tooltips. I also got my keyboard and joystick settings back, because I had copied them to an own profile. Language is also English again. Probably, a lot of other things are different now. Why are they doing this to me?

Why is the flightplan (see below) in the MCDU only displaying it correct for 2 seconds in the Flightplanner screen. After two seconds it's changed into the flightplan as you can see below. It should go from DENUT to ATWIT as programmed in the MCDU.

I reinstalled msfs and of course I need to setup all my graphic settings. Without any modification my gpu spoils up within the msfs main screen up to >350fps. Hadn't they fixed this issue? I also have installed voltana but after lauching I get a black window. I guess I already installed simconnect, but still it should not be black window. Do I need anything else to make it run?

Ever since I installed the latest update I cannot connect to a server. Tried logging out and back in but still not working. Any ideas???? Thanks.

Hello, I'm wondering what is currently the best way (if there is one) to limit the amount of AI traffic injected when using AIG? I don't see a limiter option in the AIG Traffic Controller (other than the ability to set a % of traffic) and it looks like the AI companion tool for MSFS is no longer available for download. Did I read somewhere that the last update introduced a limit on the number of BGL files in the Community Folder? The reason I ask is that I belive that FSLTL and Global Shipping seem to have quite a lot of them and MSFS crashes on the flight loading screen when I use them both together along with all my other add-ons. If I remove either, then the sim runs perfectly fine and very smoothly.

I am curious to try FS202 and seeing that it is on sale from Steam and also from Newegg (Microsoft/Xbox version) I was wondering is there any difference in these two versions and which one would you recommend? I am looking to buy the Premium Deluxe edition or maybe the standard edition would be enough. Decisions.
