Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

I'm absolutely new to this tool, which leads me to two questions? Both relate to my flying GA aircraft, so low and slow. (1). LOD Setting: Using Bing (Latest), "Map options" provides two LOD alternatives, 200 and 400. Do these override the MSFS LOD settings (ie., 0 to 200) or, assuming you want to realize the tool's outcome, should I set the MSFS option at 200 (or ???). And; (2) Google Maps Server (Pro): Recognizing much of the descriptions are gibberish to me, is there a graphic quality benefit in using the (purchasable) Google Maps Server (Pro) option? Due to circumstances I have to do a clean install of windows. Should I choose for windows 10 or 11. It will be the FS2020 computer. No idea if there are still issues with window 11. Thanks

First off is the way the sky looks with or without weather. This alone keeps me flying everyday even without Cirrus. Skyline are stupendus. Second is how my plane feels when flying. It actually moves with the currents so no more flying on rails. Makes landings all the more fun. Lastly but not least is all the support this sim gets paid or otherwise. I can't ask for a better sim support. IOW just if I have problems I'll wait and things will get better. Thanks to all sp

Has anyone had this issue?: I was flying from my home airport of KROC and went to use ATC, and the program thinks that the airport is uncontrolled, even though it has full ATC services in real life. Is there any file I could change to fix that, or is that a bug/oversight that I'll have to wait to get fixed?

I have heard there is a mod to change the Indicated Air Speed gauge on the Microsoft DC-3 from MPH to KPH (knots per hour}, but I can't seem to locate it on flightsim.to I have done several searches there, but nothing comes up. Maybe it is located on another site? Can someone help me find this mod? Thanks

Hello All For anyone like me who's been experiencing CTDs at MK's Dublin, try using this utility. Point it to your Dublin installation folder and let it do its stuff. Fixed my CTD by finding and renaming one duplicate bgl file (apparently). Here is where I got the heads up from. Hope that you get some success from it. Regards

Just saw that the DLSS Frane Generation is greyed out and even with DLSSG set to 1 in the UserCfg.opt file It does not work anymore. Anyone with a 4090 can check if they are having the same issue ? Folks My GTNXi has been working fine since I installed it a few month ago. However, today I bit the bullet and upgraded to Windows 11😬 Everything in MSFS seems to be working fine except TDS GTNXi. I use it in the Black Square Kingair and Milviz C310. Both have blank screens. Strange thing is that the Offline (ie without MSFS running) TDS GTNXi works ok. I've tried reinstalling both TDS and the Garmin Trainer - no joy. I don't have the WT GNS 530 installed which I know can give some conflicts. Any ideas? Paul

No matter what I do, I have an issue with cabin/wing views not showing as though I am from the passenger perspective. It doesn't show any of the inside cabin. For example, I am using https://flightsim.to/file/33431/fnx-a320-custom-showcase-camera-viewpoints but all of the outside wing views aren't looking out the cabin like in the description. Any thoughts on how to fix? Thanks!

I've setup and installed a large number of AIG flight plans and aircraft through the AIG manager. I've customised AI Traffic and make sure this is running while the sim is. However, it's quite a lottery whether I see traffic or not. Quite often I can see jetways moving towards an empty space (as though an aircraft is supposed to be there!) and I can see aircraft icons on the AI Traffic Manager, but nothing appears in sim. - Could this be an issue with the number of objects being generated? - When should Ai Traffic Manager be started - before sim start? Once a flight has been loaded? - What should traffic settings be set to to get the most AIG? - Is there anythin…

I'm trying to create a custom cockpit view but I've not been able to succeed. I sit in the cockpit and adjust the view to my liking and then press the key combination to save a custom view, e.g. ctrl-alt-0 with the default key binding. When I'm then in another view and want to go to my custom view I press e.g. alt+0. This causes an infinite loop where MSFS appears to be struggling between two different views, causing a flickering/flashing effect where it goes between those two views about 20 times a second. It does not stop until I go to e.g. external view and then back into the cockpit. However, every single attempt to load the custom view enters the flickering loop…

Is there a tutorial out there that shows how you can get the MFG V3's working with Fenix? My sim recognizes them in the controls page, and my PC says they are connected, but when in the sim, I can't get them to react. I tried calibrating them in the MCDU but that didn't seem to work as they weren't recognized. Any tips would be appreciated. Thanks!

I watched a YouTube video which showed how the Thrustmaster Airbus Capt Pack was pre-configured for the FBW A320 in MSFS Control settings and it all worked correctly. However I have just installed the FBW A320 and although the control settings show that my Captains Pack is all set up correctly the Engine No 2 does not work in the FBW cockpit. When I put Engine No1 start switch to ON the switch in the FBW cockpit also goes to the On position, but with Engine No2 when the switch is put to the ON position nothing happens in the FBW cockpit. Few days ago FS20 started well as usual, but I was hearing my CPU fans whining all the time, so I opened the task manager to verify what's wrong and I saw for the first time that the Fenixbootstrapper starts everytime the sim starts and occasionally it's pegging the CPU at 55/65%. I was shocked, so I decided to shut down the app and fortunately the sim continued to work flawlessly. Hi all, I’ve made the leap from P3D PMDG 777 to MSFS Fenix A320. I could do with some guidance with approaches on landing. How much control input should I be making on the side stick? How much rudder etc? (I know it depends on conditions and winds but some general advice and examples would really help). When should flare begin and to what degree etc? Thanks Ben

I'm running MSFS in another window, and when I switch over I can hear someone typing! When I change winodws (as I have now) it stop, but resumes as soon as I go into MSFS!

Hello, i have the PMS50 GTN750 premium and a navigraph supscription. When i export a flight plan from navigraph (competely with departure and arrival and approach), and then load the plan from inside the GTN, only the depature and the direct way to the destination airport is shown. However, if i load the same flight plan with the MSFS the complete plan is there. Is this a bug or am i doing it wrong?

I am seeing no FSLTL Taffic at Asobos Kai Tak, anyone else, or just me ? I do not want this with AIG models only using FSLTL. So is this somehow possible to see some aircraft standing around there with FSLTL . I tried using it with the static models but do not see any, so how to do that ? Hi Folks, I see that it is possible to use the Behringer X-touch mini as an input device when coupled with Axis & ohs. I'm considering purchasing one and am interested in hearing people's feedback who have used it. Use case would typically be for G1000 in C172 and use with the WTmod CJ4 Any experience specifically with those uses would ideal but also interested in general happiness with the setup. After installing addon liveries, and Maverick Top Gun installation my F-18 hornet HUD is corrupted and unmanageable. I have removed and reinstalled files and cannot eliminate this issue. Would appreciate any advice as how to clean this issue up. Thank You, snavecarr

IIRC, Lars did say that MSFS would be a 10 year supported commitment from the MS team. Meaning that this year, MSFS is almost 1/3 into its supported life cycle. That's quite far already. Yet it still feels like a brand new sim.
