Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

Was wondering if anyone else had experienced this tonight. Start up, fan whirs up, black screen and loading circle for about five seconds. Then dumped back to desktop, no message, nothing. Have verified game integrity Avionics update applied (and rolled back) Windows 11 up to date AMD graphics drivers up to date. Is there anything else I can try? I really don't want to have to do a reinstall. TIA

Until today MSFS has been running great until I tried to sign in today. I get stuck on the Syncing Data Screen and cannot move on. I have tried to sign out of X Box and the Microsoft Store,reboot,then sign back in but cannot solve the problem and have tried this process on a number of occasions. On one occasion I did did move on to the ASBO screen and asked me to sign into both X Box and Microsoft again and then I was just left with a Black Screen with the little 0 icon in the bottom right hand corner just hanging and do nothing. Before update to 1.30.12.0, FS Traffic was working fine with GSX as well, but now with both installed if I go start a flight say at EGLL the is no Traffic, not one apart from my aircraft. The GSX menu comes up fine and every thing else seems fine, except when I try to exit to main menu MSFS just hangs and I have to use task manager to shut it down. I only have FS Traffic & GSX files in my community folder. If I remove the GSX files then FS Traffic works fine and does not hang back to the main menu, same if I remove FS Traffic does not hang back to the menu, as I said the two addons worked fine together before this latest update. Edit... there is another way... go to the Marketplace and install the free "workingtitle-instruments-gns". It will translate "Asobo to WT" for you. Now that out WT has promoted the Longitude to head of the class, I need to dig into all those working icons. I have not found a specific G5000 pilot guide for the Longitude, but, there is one available for download for the Latitude. The panels appear to be nearly identical. Any comments, if not. I got a new monitor today that now allows me to use HDR 10 in the sim when I click HDR in the display settings. When I turn it on, everything is so much darker? For those using HDR in the sim and on your PC, should it look like that or should I do something to make it look better?

Hello: I currently use Webroot for Virus protection. Seems most "in the know" don't seem to care for it, so I am looking to change but want to make sure it doesn't cause any issues with MSFS. Suggestions? Thanks, Dave

I'm very excited to see Mriya is coming to the sim. Back in days I was lucky enough to train in full motion AN124/225 sim for entire week, guided by very experienced test pilot Yuri Kurlin (a test pilot for legendary AN-22)! Greetings, I am in the middle of a MSFS CTD Start-Up crisis with a question on options. I am unable to start MSFS and desire to change online services from ON to OFF. I have already re-installed and reset and continue to receive the following error: "Due to an unexpected error, your game license cannot be authorized. Hey all, I have this problem only in recent weeks and cannot isolate the cause, possibly after that last small MSFS update, very strange. So, my TCA Airbus throttle has died (see my post in hardware about that tale of woe). Trying to hit the detents for the A320 on my Logitech Extreme throttle does not sound like a good time. Since the only settings I really need TOGA, CLR, Idle and Reverse, I am working if there is a keyboard command or setting I can use.

I have noticed that the pop-up windows have recently increased in size. The pop-up of the Aerosoft CRJ PFD now takes up my whole screen ... and more! I have to resize it each time I use it. Is there a way to get it back to its original size?

AIG Traffic Controller takes a while to load. My question is, "When should you start the load process?" Should you start it before MSFS? Should you start it while MSFS is loading? Should you start it when you're at the gate?

Updated to FS Traffic MSFS to version 1.0.2 yesterday. I got traffic at the starting airport, entered my destination airport ICAO, and when I arrived at my destination airport there was no traffic at all ! I had confirmed my ICAO destination airport selection, and traffic density was set at 100%. Traffic selection within the MSFS options were set as recommended by Just Flight. Ground services were set for fast gate turnarounds. As prior to the update, it had been working fine - so I uninstalled both FS Traffic Fleet MSFS and FS Traffic MSFS, and then reinstalled both - version 1.0.0 for the fleet ands version 1.0.2 for the installer. When I go to the World Map to start a flight and go to an airport, when I zoom in I get all these squares with no information. Sometimes I can select a gate from the map but other times it won't let me. I'm thinking the first time I installed MSFS2020 these boxes had information about the gates or runways or whatever the box was for. I'm also wondering why the gates in the drop down menu are not in order. Jerry

I'm extremely impressed with the progress on the latest AAU beta update today. The Longitude especially seems to be an entirely different and more true-to-life business jet. The Longitude avionics in the current AAU beta are completely different from those in SU11. I thoroughly enjoyed my first test flight this afternoon from Huntington, WV (KHTS), to Pittsburgh, PA (KPIT). As @bendead mentioned elsewhere, you can now import your flight plan directly from the MSFS world map into the Longitude's FMC. And it works! I've posted before about problems I've been having flying into London in the Fenix A320. Sometimes it's stable and fine, other times frames go to single digits and I just can't fly it at all. This caught me by surprise. Trying to take off fully loaded from an airstrip at 7,000 ft, (Flagstaff AZ) might just be possible but I couldn't manage it no matter how carefully I nursed the speed v rate of climb. Not sure how accurate this is (I have the Duckworks mod), one notch of flaps and full boost gets you near 55" MP and a lot more power, even then it requires care and you had better get the undercarriage up PDQ. Did the real DC-3s have boost? And under these conditions is full rich mixture a good idea? Geoff

Really? Last day of my internet data and I’m up against my 1.28TB data limit. Doing a flight from KLAS-KEWR after turning off streaming bing data and PG just to see the difference, and yeah, a huge difference indeed. The ground looks like total garbage compared to PG, zero detail everywhere and extremely unimpressive. Looks like default FSX. First and last time without bing data. I hit 1000 hours yesterday in MSFS and if the world always looked the way it does now with bing data off, I probably wouldn’t have gotten to 100.
