Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

Wondering if it's just me or are we all still having ATC issues where it just stops working in mid flight. Either you loose communication one way or the other or it just get's stuck and goes silent. This started back in November with the 40th Anniversary release.😕

Due to downsizing of our house (and no basement in the new house), my choices are to either give up simming or go Xbox with a TV. Hoping some of you folks that use Xbox can clarify a few things for me as such: Are all the same airliners on the XBox as was PC? Is PMDG 737 fact or fiction for Xbox? Is there AI traffic available, such as FS traffic, FSLTL, or Simple Traffic? Do Honeycomb Yoke and Throttles work on Xbox? Is ATC Chatter available? Thanks in advance.

I believe Air Manager and WideView interface with MSFS via Simconnect. Both programs run smooth for me in MSFS most of the time but at random but repeatable locations, the communications drops to 1 update-per-second for up to a minute or so. Does anyone know of a fix? Thanks.

How do you select which Nav radio to use when using the autopilot NAV function?

I'm a PC user. I'll be moving from P3D to MSFS. Is there any difference in the MSFS Store Xbox/PC program offered and the Steam program other than the ability to operate with Xbox on the MSFS Store program? Any recommendations and/or comments?

I thought about this long and hard and with many attempts at various techniques to see what works. I come away with seeing the initial adjustments other developers had to make missed it's mark with the Big Radials model. I thought by now they'd take a page from Milviz, Flying Iron, and Airplane Heaven in the efforts those developers made to work within FS2020's tail dragger ground handling constraints. All our other options have done a great job in giving us what they could concerning tail dragger modeling. I haven't found consistent success with takeoff with the P-40. With the new (February 1?) Aircraft and Avionics update, MSFS is now seriously competing with XPlane 12 as a study level training platform for Real World GA pilots flying Garmin panels. Excellent development! My problem is - I can't figure out how to bind the Garmin autopilots' buttons to my keyboard, so I can actually push buttons instead of mousing when I'm bouncing around in terrible weather! None of the bindable commands I have tried, for many of the GFC Autopilots' buttons, have worked - for example: heading knob push or turn, IAS or FLC, APR, etc. Is there a list of the functioning autopilot binding descriptions out there yet? …

Hello Just wondering if MSFS will ever use up to 24GB or VRAM or is 16 GB enough. Wanting to upgrade to 4x series GPU to take advantage of DLSS3 and Frame generation. Running a I9 13900k at the moment Am flying planes like Fenix A320 into JFK, EGGL and KLAX ... Running at 1440p but maybe 4k in the future. Thanks!

More often than not, the world map planner freezes on me now after I select the departure and arrival fields. I cannot zoom in and out and add waypoints but I can see the nav profile and enter the game. Weird. A known bug ? While the sim starts normally I don't have live weather or live traffic but I do have access to the marketplace. I have signed out of my MS Store account and logged back in which is one recommended fix I found but this does not work. My internet connection is working normally. Any suggestions? Bruce

There are many weather apps and sites available to use for flight sim, such as Windy, MeteoBlue, Ventusky. Ryan, the Missionary Bush Pilot, has mentioned using Windy. What app/site do you use and why? I have foreflight with its weather features, but would like to gauge opinions on others you feel enhances your flight planning.

I wonder if anyone can help or clarify something for me. Under system/display/graphics I see 4 instances of flightSimulator.exe under custom options for apps. Can anyone tell me whether three of these can be deleted? In task manager only one instance of FlightSimulator.exe is actually running. I'm wondering why there are 4 instances and how they may have got there. Many thanks in advance for any suggestions.

If anybody is looking for a twin engine bird, you are going to love this one, highly recommended, a bit pricey but worth every penny and a joy to fly. I love twins and been flying Carenados PA34T Seneca for a while. Decided to look for something a bit more realistic all around and decided to buy C414, oh man, definitely worth every penny, flight dynamics and the sounds are awesome, TDS GTN750xi (2 panels) flawlessly integrates into it, just perfect.

Hello, i am new here. I will start by giving you my components RTX 3070 OC I7-9700k 32gb ram 650 Watts psu, (Yes, it's not a lot but it works) 1080p I can see that my gpu/cpu usage is low through the nvidia performance viewer (Alt+R) Normally 50% of use. The pc temperature is within the limits.

My understanding is Steam offers fewer issues when it comes to updates, and I would imagine addon's from the steam store(?). I have installed the WBSIM_JPI_152_2.04_sql51 mod in the Cessna 152 with steam gauges and love it. But I think there is one thing missing. I do not have any DME in the panel. There is a blank panel where it is supposed to be. Anyone else see this? Thanks

During Push back, parking brake released, GSX doesn’t recognize it as released. Also the aircraft can’t taxi (roll) due to parking brake issue. Any idea? thanks
