February 15, 20233 yr With the new (February 1?) Aircraft and Avionics update, MSFS is now seriously competing with XPlane 12 as a study level training platform for Real World GA pilots flying Garmin panels. Excellent development! My problem is - I can't figure out how to bind the Garmin autopilots' buttons to my keyboard, so I can actually push buttons instead of mousing when I'm bouncing around in terrible weather! None of the bindable commands I have tried, for many of the GFC Autopilots' buttons, have worked - for example: heading knob push or turn, IAS or FLC, APR, etc. Is there a list of the functioning autopilot binding descriptions out there yet? Thanks! Edited February 15, 20233 yr by jb01
February 15, 20233 yr The standard AP commands work for the G1000, but you're right, for the G3000 and AAU content, very little works. Also, there is still no native VNAV key command for any aircraft in the MSFS settings. One option is to get AAO ("Axis and Ohs") - pretty low cost - and you can then download profiles for various custom AP aircraft on flightsim[dot]To. These are assigned in AAO and then work flawlessly in the aircraft. I use this for full AP keyboard controls of planes like the PMDGs, FBW, Fenix, Ini A310, VisionJet, FSW C414, etc, etc. The scripts are made by clever people like @guenseli, who analyze the LVAR values and script them, ready for AAO to assign keys or hardware buttons and axes to. February 15, 20233 yr Author That's great information! Thank you I'd prefer a native way to do it, but until then, I'll take a workaround. I'll try downloading AAO tonight and see what I can get working.
