Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

I've been reading about MSFS 2020 and have decided to buy it. However, I'm struggling with which edition to buy. Is the Premium Deluxe worth the extra money, and Why? Is there still an annual cost, and how much? Also What edition is the latest? Does it make a difference where I buy, or does Microsoft recognize all internet sellers. I know, lots of questions. But I just want to make sure I'm not getting something old that I have to update. Thanks.

Saitek ST290Pro and Thrustmaster Airbus Flight sticks - I have always used the hat switch to look up, left, right, down and the 45° degree view for each direction. Prior to yesterday the POV would stay right where I had moved it, e.g. 60° aft to right. Now - the POV moves to the appropriate location but then slowly migrates back to straight ahead (default cockpit location). Even if I hold the hat switch hard to the right (for example) the POV will return to straight ahead. My ST290Pro has been sitting on the shelf for a week and I just plugged it back in and the single engine prop profile came up - but the POV works as described unlike when I moved th eST290…

With the new Simbrief layout, it allows you to show weather and radar on the map as it relates to your flightplan. Is there a way to depict weather on the app as well? I can't find how to do it but thought it would be cool to see weather along your flight in relation to where you are on the flightplan in the app.

the last few times I ran the sim with the FBW I ran out of fuel shortly after take off. Makes for a cool emergency landing scenario but I need a fix. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling via the FBW Installer and that worked for the first flight thereafter but its happening again now. Basically, I use the SIM flight planner choosing a departure and arrival location and high alt airways and hit the Fly Now Button. It seems the Aircraft always loads with only 2% fuel and when I try to change it using the weights and balance tab it won't take and I'm stuck with 2% Never had this problem before WU12. Anyone know what gives and/or have a solution?

I started FS and it asked me to load the almost 700MB mandatory update, but then I don’t see any WU12 content in Content Manager. The previously loaded 1-11 world updates are there and show installed, but there is no available content. Did I miss some magic step somewhere? How do I force the update in content manager?

I am wondering what the users of both these aircraft are seeing as far as the consistency of good landings in both of these aircraft. I had the 737 in P3D and don't remember any difficulty in landing that aircraft. I have had the Fenix since it came out, and find myself facing inconsistent landings with this aircraft. I even purchased the FSiPanel to practice landings in the Fenix, which I would have never done with the 737, and still seem to have more problems landing the Fenix than I ever had with any other sim aircraft. Has anyone else found a difference between the 737 and the Fenix?

If I try to buy something from the Marketplace, I get: "The Xbox live account used to log into MSFS and the Microsoft Store do not match...etc." Maddening!! I don't have an Xbox live account. I bought MSFS from the Microsoft Store using my MS account. Ive seen this online before but none of the "fixes" work for me. Do MS not want my money? J

I found several messages at the official MS site about the sim treating all throttle AXES inputs as collective inputs; moving the collective up/down and not moving/rotating the throttle on the collective. All of the threads eventually end with no suggested fix or resolution. I have the problem with all my sim controls (Thrustmaster Airbus throttle quadrant and addon and Joystick, CH Yoke, Saitek ST290Pro joystick acting that way in all three helicopter's I fly: Cabri G2, MD500, Bell 406. I haven't purchased yet but they say the new 'Taifun' from inibuilds is another plane that could use a shift in weight distribution in crosswind situations. Easy to remember, you just pull it out. (I had no idea this was possible and was adjusting in the preflight hangar, didn't know you can do it on the fly).

For some unknown reason I find that the throttle on my joystick on NONE of my amphibian aircraft (Beaver, Cessna, Otter etc) operates correctly when flying from water. If I fly from a (ground) runway the throttle works fine but on the water it keep returning to idle setting even though the throttle is set to max. If I 'drag' the throttle in the cockpit with my mouse it too only briefly goes to where I want it but then returns to idle so I am sure if had nothing to do with my joystick and that it is something I need to set up. Any ideas?

Am I the only one who is getting fed up with all the available addons that turn MSFS (or any sim) into a complicated and boring job? Am I the only one who started to believe the lie that you have to use Navigraph charts, plan on SimBrief, fly on VATSIM (or use an ATC addon) using the most advanced and complex airplane addons including failures and what not, only to find out that in the end you hardly use any of those advanced features and you might as well fly default planes? So I am playing around with the standard C172 G1000 cockpit lighting. I found the rheostats to turn various lighting on and off. But when I try to turn the knob for Standby Instrument Brightness, the control won't let me turn it up. It's as if something is preventing it from being adjusted. Any ideas?

For whatever reason FSUIPC doesn't automatically start for me anymore when I start the sim and i don't see my desktop icon anymore. Can someone please let me know where i can find it on my PC so I can open it up again to get it to autostart?

For the version I purchased at JustFlight: Move bksq-aircraft-analogcaravan folder out of community or addon manager. Click on the installer from JustFlight website. It will put the new version of that same file into Community. Then leave it there or move it to addon manager. It should now be dated differently than the older folder was dated. You can delete the old version folder or store it somewhere whenever you decide to do that.

Hey All, Can someone help me out with their T1600 sensitivity and dead zone settings that work for them? I feel like it's WAY too twitchy and I'd love to see someone's set up who is somewhat proficient with the aircraft. Further, as a bit of a tip, I was flummoxed for a while by my rudders constantly going out of alignment and causing my autopilot to cut out (to disastrous results). One of the issues was my T1600 twist Z axis was word not allowed and I had to replace the stick, but I also found out that the number pad which I use for camera presets are also used for rudder settings. Hi. My apologies but Im brand new to this sim.. Every aircraft is unstable...rocking back and forth and dropping up and down...hand flying or autopilot...default and add on aircraft...I have realism set to fsx, but all other setting make no difference anyway. Im sure there is an easy explanation!

I watched a video where someone compared the performance between the FSLTL AI models and the FS Traffic Models, saying that the FPS were better using the FSLTL injector, and specifying the FS Traffic AI Models. I checked the price the FS Traffic and it is around $40. If the difference in performance is one or two FPS, that seems like alot of money to spend for a small improvement. I posted this to see if anyone has tried this,and did you see a substantial gain in FPS with the FS Traffic models?
