Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

So... The latest "best" LOD settings for SU11 is 200 / 200 when checking best graphics settings on the flight simulator blog. Seems to be quite high (espec. for object LOD). Any suggestions?

in the older fsx i could assign my eyepoint to move left and right with the upper hat switch on the logitech x52 hat switch. I can move the pilots view point for the pilot using the arrow keys on the keybaord but using the hat switch i cant simple and smoothly move the pilot eyepoint or said a differnt way the panel up or dwn to change the view. it was very simple before but im having some trouble with this. i have played with translate cockpit view and commands such as increase and decrease view height but nothing allows we to make this chage as per the older sim thoughts Peter

As the subject says, I have bought a new PC and it's the very first time I'm gonna install MSFS (Steam version) Are there any guides or tutorials I can study on how to get it as painless as possible? I have a 1TB M2 NVMe (C:) and a 2TB NVMe,(D:) and prefer to have MSFS on the 2TB drive. Since it's the Steam version I suppose I can't just install it in D:\MSFS, but must have it in a steam subdirectory? I'm sure I'll have lots of other questions, so if there's a good FAQ somewhere, it might keep me from coming back here to ask what's probabl have been asked and anwered before. Regards Jlund

How do you turn on the pulse light in the longitude?

Recently the keyboard and mouse do not respond when pressed. Many times it takes several presses or taps to get the keyboard &/or mouse to react to inputs. This only happens in MSFS and not in any other programs. I would really appreciate any suggestions. Thanks,

Hi guys, I do fly the Aerosoft Twin Otter from time to time in FS2020. I am in LOVE with that aircraft in real life, but yeah ... was quite disappointed with their version. Anyway, I do still fly it from time to time to complete some OnAir Manager missions. I cannot stand the 530 GPS and would like to use freeware GTN 750 instead. Looking at a TBM video tutorial of 2 years ago, it highlights that the trim for the rudder control is on the left hand side of the yoke, and when depressed, you can see the rudder trim indicator move on the middle screen. That process does not work on the latest modification for the TBM, which makes it difficult to control when taking off - particularly if there is a cross wind. Is this a known 'bug' - or am I missing something?

Anyone else in the SU12 beta finding the sim to "hang" on the New Activities screen? Even using addon linker and fast launch option, and only one area of the globe my sim takes about 40% longer than it did before getting into the beta.

I seem to remember the full white has a transparent setting, but, I haven't found it. I need to see underneath the white box. Thanks, Ray

Not sure if this happens to everyone, just checking. Yesterday I did two flights, KORD-KRDU and the return leg without shutting down and restarting the sim. On final to 28C I got to as low as 1FPS and the sim was pretty much unusable but I somehow managed to touch down and exit the runway. Not the first time this has happened to me. Is this normal behavior in the current state or is that me?

Have flown out of multiple airports. Last few days, all the ground textures are a dark gray. Not just airports, but everywhere. Any ideas what is causing this. Recently got Drewieckidesign KEWR that has a dirt layer, but even with it out of the community folder, no change. The buidings, trees, etc. look fine. traffic all looks good.

PC-12 v1.2 & AAU1, Windows 10, empty Community folder, un- and re-installed the PC-12 later: the EHSI problem was observed the first time at CYBD Bella Coola. I then started at a couple different locations like CBBC Bella Bella, and now it does work again. I had observed there was no metar available at CYBD, could that have stopped the EHSI and Avidyne from proper initialisation?

Hi there, I purchased MSFS on Steam and for a while it was working fine. I changed CPU from 5600x to 5600g and now it will crash at launch. I uninstalled the sim and tried to reinstall it but I could not even get to the install menu. I went on the xbox app and bought a 1month game pass to download msfs through xbox app and surprisingly it is installing. i would prefer not to update to the latest Bios as everything in this computer works beautifully except this. I also checked and the Bios in the system is good for this CPU after changing it. any suggestions on why its working on one platform and not the other? i wish I had faster internet right about now lo…

Having tried VR and decided not to go down that route, I am cosidering Track IR but am wondering which way to go with trackIR 4, TrackIR5, Track clip pro, etc. Could I ask for your thoughts and considerations with regard to these. I have decided against Tobil on the basis of cost and that I have a fairly large screen and need to move my eyes a lot just to see all areas of the screen. I was also wondering whether to purchase new or whether there might be any issues buying pre owned. Any comments, views, opinions and experiences relating to these and any alternatives will be gratefully received. Thanks

Anyone also has CTD occasionally when busy with ATC either talking to you or asking something for example "request taxi to parkings". Also some times the ATC is gone of I can only here myself. I love MSFS2020 and it runs superb and smooth. But if it stays like this it's not doable anymore. Fresh WIN11 install and fresh FS2020 install with the same outcome. Empty Community Folder. Every flight I feel nervous about will I make it to the destination airport without CTD's or Bandwidth errors after hours of flight.

Hi there Sim Community. I was hoping someone might know of a Cessna 172 with an old fashioned radios stack instead of the GNS 530/430, that is compatible with MSFS.
