I think it is finally necessary to warn new buyers about getting PRO ATC From one of the official forum mods about the current issues with activation when you buy that software: "The activations are now only weekly. This unusual behavior has been the norm for the developer for several months. As long as users buy the software every day, nothing will change. So have patience! Nothing we can change." and about further, needed updates of PRO ATC "The team hasn't had any contact with the dev for 3 months. When asked, there are insults and always the same answer. "It's about to come with the next update." That was fixed in Novem…

Hi all. I have the above mentioned rudder pedals. I am finding that in certain planes (i.e. Darkstar Experimental), when I start down the runway, the rudder pedals are working for a moment, then they stop responding. Other planes they will tend to work fine. I havent tested that many planes yet, but I seem to remember reading something somewhere about that effect, the pedals working for a few moments and then stopping. In the case of the Darkstar, if I look at the pedals in the cockpit, it appears they are moving, however, the rudders on the plane are not responding to the movements. Any ideas? Thanks, as always, to this great group for help us newbies out …

I edited my aircraft.cfg file for the DC Designs Concorde as I wasn't happy with how the jetways and stairs were connecting with the aircraft. A few more adjustments to the numbers may be required, but I have found that the stairs with GSX no longer raise the stairs halfway up the door after applying this simple fix. AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Packages\Community\dcdesigns-aircraft-concorde\SimObjects\Airplanes\dcdesigns-aircraft-concorde aircraft.cfg [EXITS] number_of_exits = 3 exit.0 = 0.4, 50.70, -5.0, 0.8, 0 (change the third number after the = to 5.0 from 4.75 I think is the default value) Make…

I have perhaps a very basic question: Are you using the default cockpit view when flying airliners? And can you read the PFD? I fly in 1440p on a 32 inch panel. I I have always used predominantly the default cockpit view for flying. In the old days of DF737 and LVD767 I could easily read all instruments incl. PFD. They were artificially made bigger due to low res. These days all is realistic. That means that when sitting in default view the PFD is relatively small and the speed tape or the altitude tape are sometimes difficult to read. Yes, I do have hotas with various views mapped on various buttons. I have also keyboard hotkeys to move the eyepoint and t…

Release MFS Linux and IOS versions, just as they already have the Xbox porta... 😜 I played msfs for the first time on a mac... Why not now? 😁 Maybe easier in Linux since win11 already comes with it's own Linux...

I'm getting a new PC this week, primary for MSFS, and one of the first things I will install is FBW's A320, but what version do you recommend? Stable, Development or the Experimental version? JL

While catching up on the Virtual 737 "virtual 737 type course" on FB (being run by Ben Watts and Mentour Pilot, came across reference to some excellent 737 educational videos by Chris Brady (author of the excellent publication "The Boeing 737 Technical Guide". For those also having a blast "flying" the PMDG 737 BBJ around the world, hope you'll also find this 90mins Youtube video fascinating. Also sorts of interesting info, like: 737 winglets were first designed for the BBJ ! (and not for the reason you might expect 🙂 ) Higher V1 (MCG) speed because of the shorter fuselage Why the BBJ 700 has 737-800 flap speeds (they typic…

Hey all! Looking to upgrade my PC. I am looking at it with 2 options. I would love your thoughts on which you think will help me gain the most performance. Option 1 Complete new build with the following parts below. I would keep my 3080 for now and upgrade later by the end of the year with a 4080. Total cost = ~$1,650 Option 2 Keep my current build and just buy a 4080 and build a new PC towards the end of the year. Total cost = ~$1,750 i9-9900K O/C 5.0 GHz | ASUS ROG Strix NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 OC Edition | 32GB DDR 4 - 3200MHz | Asus Rog Strix Z390-E Gaming | Sabrent 512GB M.2 & Sabrent 1TB M.2 | Kaken …

So, I’ve been using XP12 a lot recently. Just fired up MSFS (both sims are good, this isn’t a debate about sims!), and the glare of the sun with HDR on is way too bright. Seems the lighting in XP12 is more natural. My question is, is there anyway to reduce this?

I've become chart-curious of late, probably spurned by seeing FBW A320's EFB has a place for them. I use SimBrief and the only planes I'm flying all sport FMS/MCDU and include radio frequencies etc and so details (save suggested radio altimeter at the arrival airport) of the flight, runways, SID/STAR, route, etc such that I have no troubles getting from gate to gate. Beyond learning about charts (which I've done some reading on) what practical enhancement might they offer in MSFS for my simming experience? I used to use LNM to decide on which SID/STAR but Simbrief solves that for me. Cheers

An app I have been using for a while got a recent update that streamlines some aspects of it so thought I would share it here. I'm not affiliated with the developer but offered some feedback which he has incorporated. If you have a spare tablet or two laying around then you can put them to great use. I have two cheap Amazon Fire tablets that I with this app to display a PFD and a secondary screen with map/flight plan and engine parameters. It's free and well worth checking out... https://flightsim.to/file/18371/flight-display-companion-g3000-style-display-for-android

After a long time and several posts asking about study level aircraft, I finally purchased the PMDG 737-800. I'm totally lost now and have a lot to learn but I'm glad I made the purchase. I was following along with a video and managed to start, taxi and take off. However, I couldn't figure out how to use heading (since I needed to vector) and for some reason the nose pitched down and I crashed due to overspeed.😱 It's all a learning curve though, so Ill get it eventually. I found the PDF and will use that. Video's tend to ramble a bit and I can follow along with a PDF so much better. I just hope it is as good as the one FBW has for their A320. I also purchased A Pil…

For those of you in the Beta, have you noticed any improvements in weather depiction/accuracy? As you all know, the changelog was pretty vague about what was actually done but on my end, after a couple of flights, the only thing I've noticed so far is a possible bump in the resolution of clouds. They didn't look bad before but they seem to be a little sharper now. Anying you guys have seen that I missed?

Hi all, I typically lurk and enjoy listening to you guys but I thought this was worth a share [I have searched and cant find this on the forum] The B-2 Sportwing was released Monday on Simmarket and after some unsavoury reviews, the dev decided to refund everyone and make it freeware instead. A good showing from the dev in my book, it has its issues but if you are interested in aircraft from that era you can grab it free here https://www.payloadz.com/d1/?id=3371157 Enjoy!

MSFS reset my General Options and AC View settings today. Thanks Microsoft! Grrrr. I know where my control settings are and those were untouched. C:\Users\XXXX\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe is on my C drive and that is backed up daily. I run 3 monitor setup in MSFS and when this happens it is a true PITA. My bad for not doing a screen shot of my latest settings of Experimental 3 monitor setup. Had a screenshot of my graphics settings. Those do not matter so much because I am switching to a 4090. The custom AC views for each aircraft are a PITA to redo also since there are a number of planes I use. They are saved to my…

Excluding Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, NZ, Scandinavia, Spain, Swiss, the US, the UK have you a special place not yet covered by a WU where you love to fly ? For me, it would be Greece. The mesh is not bad at all for the most part, the terrain sat imagery and autogen are good (yes there are dubious trees here and there, tell me something new) and there are plenty of lovely freeware airports and buildings (70 in my Community so far and counting). Plenty of short-haul flights in the mainland and in the islands.

Please answer if you have anything constructive to add. I am sure there are a few people that may find the answers interesting, as well as me. Humorous answers will also be accepted alongside the serious ones, as we seem to be suffering from a bit of a jovial recession at the moment, and I am sure we could all do with a bit of a laugh!.. 1. I am about to try multiplayer for the very first time (believe it or not!) - but what happens if you are flying along next to someone and then press pause or go out to the settings menu? Does your plane appear to pause in mid-air, or does it disappear from their view? 2. Are there any AMG graphics card users o…

After months of flying without the 60 second pause after I supposedly fixed it it's back. I'm at the point where after 41 years of desktop simulation I'm very close to just donating it all and getting out of the hobby. Words cannot describe how frustrating this is. Several months ago I spent weeks trying to figure it out after extensive and exhaustive searching. I turned off ALL security stuff, I don't surf or email so I didn't care, I just wanted it to stop. No help. I did a lot of other things. Then I noticed it was "gameoverlayui.exe" from Steam causing it. So not only did I untick it in Steam but used Process Lasso to force it off and it worked. I …
