Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

Just a silly post... If I am in the house, paying bills, watching TV, listening to music, I just have to get a plane in the air while I am doing these tasks. Am I alone? if so, I will seek a therapist. 🙂

Re-installed MSFS 2020 today 2/26/23. This time I had to do it via XBox. When installation was complete, there was no Community folder. I had a backup and tried to install somewhere near MSFS but did not know how to tell the App where to find the Community folder. Can someone assist me with this? I don't know, has the Community folder been removed? I'm between a few to find out today that LatinVFR departed from scenery design into making (non-high fidelity) aircrafts for Xbox users. At least they were honest clarifying things with us, but a great scenery developer we have lost in my opinion. I enjoyed lot of their airport and scenery for P3D/FSX. Has this something to do with the recent update? I didnt change anything in my config but all msfs settings are gone, including key bindings, realism, graphics etc. I understood they are cloud saved, can i revert to what I had running yesterday? putting everything the way it was will take me days otherwise. Even the flow app was showing me messages as if i launched it first. My logged hours etc. in the profile are still being shown though.

Does anyone know the status of the MSFS Scenery Gateway?

All I can say is...there's a lot to flying. At least it feels that way at the moment. I am really struggling with flight planning, and I think I have hit a brick wall. Hoping someone can point me in the right direction. Here is what is happening... 1. I create a flight plan in SimBrief. KSFO to KSBA. 2. I import the SimBrief FP into Pilot2ATC. It appears to match SimBrief but adds the SID. 3. In MSFS world map I import the SimBrief FP, and then select a gate. So far everything looks fine in the world map. 4. I load the CJ4, start it up and see one entry in the FMS. So I start over and add everything from SB/P2ATC from sc…

Page Municipal Airport KPGA) is a perfect gateway between the Grand Canyon and Monument Valley. And don't forget Marble Canyon at 5 minutes Cessna flight. Hi, guys! Maybe you can help me to find any clue for problem solution. I fly in VATSIM. A while ago started facing situations when vpilot disconnects from the server. Right after that I get warning in the sim that there is problem with internet connection. Then the vpilot may connect by itself and sim gives warning that connection is successful. I don't know how these two things work out together, but it bothers me... I did not have such issue before. It may happen several times during a flight every 2 minutes. I don't think that there is problem with my internet. Because when I not in the sim I always use internet and experience no problems at all. Maybe any other…

Hey all, I am hoping this might be useful to some of you, though no doubt many of you figured this out already. My system is a 9700k, 32gb DDR4 and a 3070 (not TI) with an NVME drive and running on a 2560/1440p monitor. Anyway, the sim runs beautifully for me 99% of the time in the Fenix 320 and the Cessna 310R, but I noticed some annoying stutter at times. I was permanently limited by the CPU in my dev mode, so I started upping GPU intense settings until the majority of the time the limiter was switching quickly between CPU and GPU limiting. Parked at the arrival airport. Baggage and Stairs connected etc. etc. Then all of a sudden within a second the Stairs and Baggage etc. etc. are gone. Disappeared in a second. This happens not on all flights but on some. No idea what is causing this. Anyone an idea why this happens ?

Just started and had an update available (I am in the beta). It was a 5 gig update which completed quickly. Unfortunately, the sim did not start successfully so I disabled my Community folder and it started up fine. There are also substantial updates available via the content manager. Once I get it all downloaded and installed, I'll try to figure out which addon is causing the issue.

After the fantastic Kodiak 100 and most recently the RV-10, SimWorks Studios announces the Kodiak 900. According to them the 900D Kodiak 3 model will be completed after the Kodiak 100 cabin remodeling is completed. No release date for the 900. Hey guys, I have film grain and sharpen set to 0 sun looks much better. Would you guys recommend turning anymore off to 0? like color grading etc? thanks Mike

Has anyone else noticed that the trim wheel sounds in the 737 with normal flying on AP are totally silent.?

Good evening everyone, I bought MSFS2020 this weekend, the graphics look great and it plays very well and smooth on my pc. I am however having a problem with external camera views (the old spot view in previous versions). In external view, when turning or going up or down, the camera floats/lags behind the aircraft (like the old gradual transition in FS2004) to the point the aircraft almost disappears out of sight. I have FS9, FSX and P3dV4 and know you can have fixed camera views in them but I'm not sure about MSFS2020? I have looked online for any answers but cannot figure the keyboard commands and cannot find a simple straight forward answer. I've looked…

Something about this button has been bothering me lately. When pushed, the setting you have disappears and one would think that it would have been reset to the default value rather than the 5467 or 7689 or whatever high alt number you had it set to. However, it doesn't. It just makes it disappear. If you try to set it again it just shows up on the last figure you had it set to so now you need to start the never ending scroll to whatever number you need it set to. Makes me wonder why RST is written on it which I presume means "reset", doesn't it? Is this correct behaviour for this button? Does the real aircraft do the same thing or does it actually reset the figure? …

I was wondering if I could save time skipping the annoying advertising during the startup of FS2020. I found some files stored here: "C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_1.7.12.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe\Packages\fs-base-onboarding\logos\" and they are 3 files .mp4. I'd like to rename, move, substitute but I cannot operate in that folder, because a pop up requires me to be Administrator (and I am!). Any other solutions?

Having made several flights from take off to landing using the AI Autopilot, [which worked really well], I wonder if there is any way you can inject some parameters into it? Such as Cruise Altitude? One flight went to 15,500', the next, on a different route, climbed to 14,000'. Can the desired cruise altitude be set somewhere, perhaps in Scenario set up? Also, can speed be set? T45
