Probably for the most expert it is a dumb question, but i couldn't find any information searching around. Before takeoff, the trim, has to bet set to zero, and then set up during climb and cruise, or is there a kind of formula to set it up prior to the flight, based on cg of the aircraft? On FBW a320 for example, MCDU tells how to set it up, but on GA aircrafts, how does it work? Thanks

As per title: I found that many sceneries in MSFS (also some payware) have ILS issues. For example, the localizer is offset where it should not be, or more importantly in almost 90% of sceneries, glideslope and PAPI are way off. If you follow GS until touchdown you'll end up very very high and miss the touchdown zone. This happens also in airports where there are CATIII approaches, so where you should be able to autoland: the aircraft will follow the GS until touchdown and it will end up high. I've never seen this so widespread in FSX o P3D. Why does that happen so often in MSFS?

I love the Milviz C310 but it had ONE disappointment... they used the default KAP140 AP in it... which works like ****. I know there is a mod for it but even that one doesn't work as it should. And with SP1(beta) even less. Recently I discovered the C152 mod from JPLogistics and I noticed it uses a KAP140. And what's more... everything seems to be working as it should...! It captures your VS when you turn it on and yes, even the ARM and BARO buttons work!!! You can set an alt and arm it! (Incredible how such a basic feature can get you excited LOL) Now since it seems Milviz isn't planning/willing to create a proper KAP140 themselves (which I still don't get at A…

Is anyone aware of any developer currently or have plans to work on a CRJ200? Would be curious to see if Aerosoft adds to their CRJ 550/700/900/1000 family. I would love to see a decent model come available.

This is an interesting little airplane. If they hit the 14.99 price point again I will be interested. https://forum.inibuilds.com/topic/18265-welcome-to-the-typhoon-introducing-the-inibuilds-bf108-taifun-for-microsoft-flight-simulator/ I remember these pretending to be Bf109's attacking the train in the film Von Ryan's Express. Or they may have been Nord Noralpha variants which was based on the Bf108.

RealAir Simulations is at the top. They produced some of the highest quality GA aircraft for FSX and P3D that I ever flew; they certainly made their mark while they were here. I don't know why, but I still have yet to get the same "feeling" of power as I did with the RealAir Turbine Duke, that plane was incredible. This isn't a shot at any developer at all, you guys rock, but it just seems in the GA market there's a very high percentage of small G3X cockpit based aircraft with no originality or attention to detail that keep getting released. All the excellent ones that have been released for MSFS I've purchased them, the ATSimulations Focke-Wulf P149 is a perfect example …

For those who haven't looked at this for a couple of versions, it has new maps options. I have been using 'Bing Maps Latest', which the author says is often more up to date than those in game. I mostly fly in the West USA and the default colours are often very brown. Using 'Bing Maps Latest' option the terrain is more greenish and appears more detailed - for example, the hill and mountain tops are more stony and 3d looking. Be interested in what others think where they fly.

If you fly to LFBD (you have to fly there, you can't spawn there) and look inside the hanger there's..well, I'll let you find out for yourself.😀

I can't seem to hear the Morse code Identifiers for Navaids like VORs or Localizers. I have tried a few different a/c including the C152/172. If the identifiers are working and there is a general setting I need to turn on to hear them I can't seem to find it. Thanks, Al EDIT: The Morse code identifiers work. Turns out the volume level is so low I had to put on headphones to hear it. And I don't have the best hearing anymore. 🥴

I've been benchmarking lately as I keep a catalog of the different options effects on my system. My benchmark is a clean boot, static run, at a static altitude (around 2000'), for a 300 second flight from EGLC towards EGLL. I do this in VR with the headset on my desk and unmoved (I still posted this here in the general area because I'm wondering if it would effect others, despite VR). I reduce the variables as much as possible and have had great success with repeatable results. MSFS is stock, no addons. Live Weather, traffic, and Multiplayer is off. Run is set to the "Clear" Weather preset to remove the effects of clouds. Run is same date, same time of …

My Saitek trim wheel works just fine in X-Plane12 and used to work in MSFS. But since the last few updates it does not work at all in MSFS. Any suggestions on how to solve this would really be appreciated. All my other Saitek devices are working except this one. Thanks,Howard

Now that we have had a bit of a splintering with the whole fs.to fiasco in regards to where add-ons are located and/or available. Might it be a good idea to create a sub-forum that deals strictly with freeware add-on releases and where they can be found? Things fall off the front page so quickly, it might be nice to have a sub-forum that is dedicated to JUST downloads and where they are available. You could always go to that sub-forum and find where things are located. Authors could post when they have made an update and lets us know where to go to get it. Add-ons that have decidedly large download counts, like a JPL152 or the Savage Carbon could be stickied. Any th…

I'd posted about this awhile ago trying to figure out how to stop my sim from hanging every time I quit. It was hanging because it was stuck in an endless loop trying to decompress the Reno Air Race package. Even though I deleted everything related to Reno from my content manager, it still wanted to decompress that package, and would either freeze when I quit the sim, or it would close the sim visually but keep it running in the background until I killed it in the task manager. I know I'm not alone because there are lots of posts on the official forums/Reddit/etc about the same problem, and a lot of the "solutions" blame hardware - bad SSD sectors, faulty ram, etc. I was …

I have been offered an internet speed upgrade from its current 100 Mbs at 100 AUD per month to 220 Mbs for an additional 30 AUD per month or to 450 Mbs for a further 50 AUD per month - all with unlimited bandwidth. Would any of this be worthwhile for MSFS2020? I have banged on about PG in another thread but my understanding is that faster internet speed may not help with poor PG. Now these speed don't seem that fast based on comments I have seen in this forum but are the best you can get in Australia for now. Any observations appreciated. Bruce

Do members here have a recommendation(s) for an improved map for single and multi-engine GA users who fly mostly low and slow in North America and Europe? The base MSFS realism, while I assume, topologically accurate, is still pretty mixed in terms of imaging/realism. Along this same vane, can someone explain what the practicable difference is between google maps and google maps pro? This choice is offered in a at least one of the map enhancement apps, but unfortunately they don't describe what the net difference is to the user? Thanks folks, Brian

As shown below, I noticed that with an aircraft like the C152 that does NOT have a GPS unit, when you switch to the external view which shows the different instruments, the Heading/Course display in the upper left corner indicates it is in GPS mode, and I can't switch it out of that to VLOC. C152 On the other hand, in an aircraft like the C172 that does have a GPS unit, I switch the Heading/Course display back and forth between GPS and VLOC modes. And in VLOC I can see the CDI deviation if tuned in to a nearby VOR as shown below. You can't do this with the 152 because the display is locked into GPS mode for some reason. C172 Is the external…
