I'm pretty happy to announce that the Sim Soaring Club has decided to add a second weekly event to their rotation. In addition to every Saturday, they'll now have events every Wednesday! The real world has forced me to miss several of the last flights, so I'm looking forward to more opportunities to fly. Saturday's events are held at 17:45 UTC, and there is currently a poll to determine the Wednesday start time. I cannot get the VNAV to work using the FSIPanel to place me on a STAR. I have no problem with using VNAV on a normal flight and I am wondering if it has some to do with not reaching TOC/TOD? Using I am place at 10k inbound, the setup enter the star in for me but VNAV will not engage. Just curious if anyone knows how to use it. May not be able too...

Hello, several weeks ago I bought and installed JF Traffic and it worked perfectly. I never changed any of the default settings and I’d be getting traffic everywhere, even along the South American coast. But now for some reason as I’m flying up the coast of Florida I see nothing. I put in a destination of say, KATL, and don’t see one plane like I used to. The only way I can see traffic is if I start a flight then end it and go to a major airport like KATL or KBOS, then I’ll see traffic. I haven’t changed one setting since I installed it, and it’s still perfectly vanilla. I don’t know if something’s wrong or if I’m doing something wrong. Thanks.

PART ONE I fly with Saitek Pro Pedals, Yoke, Trim Wheel, Throttle Quad, Multi Switch Panel. All binders are set and work wonderful for the planes in the sim and a couple freewares. I just bought the Flysimware C414 and TDS GTNxi. What a great combo, perfect. Except. What I found out is that if I click any switch on my Saitek multi switch panel, it immediately flicks off the Avionics (the avionic bus switch in the C414 gets turned off) and of course my GTN gauges and I lose my flight plan and of course my nav/gps. I can immediately use the in cockpit switch to turn the TDS GTNs back on. But I have lost my flt plan. This is unbelievably annoying. …

Hi there FBW and Fenix people. Even though I am not a fan of Discord I'd like to get access to it because it seems for both of you the Discord channel is the official way to get in touch. However, for some odd reason you require a mobile phone number to be added for verification. Is that REALLY necessary...? Can't you opt for a lower security level? For personal reasons I cannot share my phone number and so I can't get in touch officially. Hence this topic on AVSIM (which obviously is totally OT but the only way I can get in touch because I also don't do Facebook, Twitter and all that other word not allowed). Need some help and suggestions about buying an airbus, possibly a Fenix. Currently very pleased with the PMDG Boeing 737-600, 800, 900. I also have fly the Maddog MD-80, very upset with the sound, so thats basically in my hanger all the time. In the FSX days, had the entire line of the Aerosoft Airbus, and was pleased. Hi everyone. I have become disenchanted with trying to learn how to effectively fly fixed wing aircraft. Not that it's boring, just that I don't have the patience to learn everything that has to be learned. I really initially purchased MSFS to sightsee the world. I recently decided to stop trying to learn how to fly all these fancy planes and focus on helicopters. There are two ways to move around the map of the G3000/5000: a basic one and a precise one. Because I am not sure if everyone knows about that precise mode I thought it would be a nice idea to post it here. Basic 1. Click on the zoom knob of the GTC (lower left knob): the GTC screen will turn into a touchpad and you will see a mouse cursor appear on the map. 2. Click and drag on the touchpad to move the cursor around on the map: once it gets near the edge you will begin to move the map into that direction. 3. In another topic we got to talk about mods that remove the dark tint of the Longitude's windows. Turns out there are two mods so I decided to do a simple comparion test. I set up a specific situation and stuck my head halfway through the window. 😉 On the left you see the tinted glass and on the right you see what's outside. Conclusions below the pictures. I write this because i just opened up a flight with MSFS live weather where the "flight conditions" window is showing the lightning image, after loading however I find my plane standing in nice sunshine with maybe 2/10 fair weather cloud coverage....but dramatic thunder sounds audible all the time, including lightning strikes coming out of clear sky. Now live weather is perfectly capable of giving us towering dark clouds to an exaggerated degree when its just rainy weather in northern hemispheres. But for some reason this doesnt work with the local TS cells that are very common in summer or tropical regions. Also, on airliner cruise level, I have never seen any CBs so f…

I created my first IFR flight (KAVX to KSAN) in MSFS using low altitude airways and the Longitude. I have a few questions about the updated avionics and I'm also looking for walkthrough tutorials. If the first waypoint is about 10 miles behind me, after take-off from an airport (no ATC): 1. Do I need to manually guide (using HDG) the plane to the first waypoint? 2. Should the SPD mode be in FMS or MAN mode? 3. When, where and at what altitude should I activate the auto-pilot and NAV? 4. Do I need to manually activate each waypoint leg? 5. Do I need to manually enter ILS frequencies?

When I booted FS up today it indicated I was in Offline Mode with no Internet access. This wasn't true, of course, but FS has certainly had its share of servers going down or losing connection so I simply set the weather to match departure conditions as close as possible and took off. This game is so frustrating. My problem now is that the game freezes as soon as I press the fly button. Not talking about the "ready to fly" button. Can't get there. The fly button grey's out and I have to use the task manager to exit the game. This happens in both normal and safe mode. Has been working just fine up until today. The only thing I have done is play with some display resolution settings in both windows and the nvidia control panel. Thinking this may have caused something, I reverted back to the recommended settings in both windows and the nvidia control panel. Strangely, the game runs fine if I select a lesson. Good Day, I am trying to get the remote MCDU to work with FBW A320 in MSFS2020 but only works with the stable version. I would like to run the development version but server does not connect. It says Simbridge connecting but nothing happens and times out after 5 minutes. Have tried all suggestions from FBW website and still nothing. Port 8380 was added as a new rule for firewall passthrough. Using an Android tablet which works well with stable version. Any help on this would be great. Cheers

Hi, I just got back into the sim again to try out helicopters and based on recommendations here and YT reviews, I've got the H145 😃. I'm waiting for my USB e-brake to use as a collective so I'm making do with the Logitech Extreme 3D joystick and using the throttle control for collective right now. I'm able to fly it ok... I guess... I can take off, hover, and fly around. The controls are more or less intuitive. However, there are a few things that I don't get... - What's the right way to fly forward while gaining altitude?
