Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

40 years old and I finally have my first 1st Gaming PC after years of console gaming. Even after reading forums and watching YouTube videos I'm struggling on what settings I should be using and where (NVIDIA Control Panel, in-game, etc) to maximize the quality/graphics in game but also have useable performance. I was hoping some of you more experienced simmers and PC enthusiasts wouldn't mind giving me some advice or guidance on where to start and what to try. For starters, with the specs below should I even be trying to play at 1440p? Should I be focusing on 1080p and go max settings there and wait for 1440p until I upgrade to say a 3090? SPECS: In…

just got a small patch for the TBM 930 enhanced by workingtitle in the content manager, updatet to version 1.0.1. not sure if that is something the SU12 retail version included already and was missing only for us SU12 beta users . do you non-SU12 beta users show v1.0.1 as well for the TBM?

Hi All I am a long term P3D user making the switch into MSFS…. Setup seems much easier but I wondered if there are any guides/recommendations for setting up a new install and what if any add ons are recommended? Anyone seeing on the default map that all NAVAIDS are gone.😳 Airspaces are there but nothing else is present on the map no matter the filter settings.

Good morning everyone, Quick question. I read somewhere that it's possible to modelmatch FSTraffic's models with the stock MSFS AI Online Traffic. Is someone actually doing this and could point me to how to do this? I'd like to use MSFS own traffic but all those generic liveries are killing it for me. Thanks in advance!

I purchased Digital Design's Lyon from the MSFS Marketplace yesterday but received a purchase failed error message so ordered it again and it went through but I was charged twice by Steam. Taking a well developed a/c visually (e.g. the default G36 Bonanza) and applying the FSRealistic effects addon, along with a Black Square systems level enhancement, and we seem to have a GA of close-to-A2A quality. So one might ask, what if there were more of these? Someone has already suggested in another post that the Carenado fleet, generally all planes of high visual quality, would be a promising group of a/c to apply this thinking. But we could end up with several duplicate high quality a/c. For example what if Black Square took on the Carenado V35, and in the meantime A2A releases it's MSFS2020 version of its own V-Tail. Would simmers be willing to buy both?…

I'm looking for high quality GA in the same realm as PMDG/A2A would be considered. I'm waiting on the complex aircraft, like HJet or similar, cause I'm trying to get used to the sim and set things up to my liking. I did buy the PMDG 737 and it's great, no question. I don't even find it very hard to land, despite being different from previous sims. So, I'm looking to see what aircraft is good with flight dynamics and overall systems. Hello, What would be normal preventive measures for safe SU12 upgrade, if I have PDMG/Fenix, GSX, AIG/OCI and roughly 35 sceneries? Do I have to do anything, such as backing up Content Folder? Would appreciate any suggestions.

I recently had to reload my windows 11 due to WMR going belly up. Unfortunately I cannot now find FS2020 anywhere. I have checked with Microsoft store library and there is nothing there either. Originally it was installed from disc which I still have. But last time that I tried a reinstall using the dics Microsoft would not recognise the code I had stating that it had already been used. That took several hours on the phone to sort out. Any help or advice welcome as I resent paying out for a new download or set of discs.

I did 2 flights today. ATC gave me a clearance including a 30 minute cancellation both times. Unfortunately for me, I usually start my flights 35 minutes prior to departure. I also use AI communications which automatically asks for clearance immediately upon starting my flight so both times my clearance expired after I received taxi instructions but before I reached the runway. Wouldn't be a problem if AI comms didn't start right away. It should let the user make the initial call for clearance and then take over from there. I also noticed that I can no longer receive ATIS on either radio. I wonder if these changes are in preparation for SU12, or is this what it…

Did you every have a flight load and the status line gets to the end and the flight never loads so you have to quit the sim and start over? I sometimes see this and have waited 20 minutes for the flight to load only to find it won't. The Google map tool can help because as the flight is loading you can watch the tiles load on the main page. This assumes that you have Bing Imagery enabled on the data page in MSFS. Anyway, if you don't see any tiles loading for the flight you can assume you need to restart the sim / flight and save a bunch of time. sp

So, I bought the BS KingAir over the weekend. Flies great...incredible systems depth. But, as far as I can tell, there's no way to program a lot of this functionality into hardware switches. It seems there's a lot of fly by mouse. That's a huge shame since, for many of those checklist pre-takeoff items, you really need that. Without it, I'd probably tend to fly this airplane as a "start with engines running" airplane....which defeats the entire purpose of all that depth. I'll be watching carefully about the Baron in the same way. If I can't assign any of the nice stuff to hardware, it's unlikely that I'd get them which is sad to say. Gregg
