Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

Browsing some old Reddit threads I saw the one and only reference I've ever come across about voice activated controls. The exact software mentioned is Voice Attack, though I'd assume there are others. There wasn't much detail in the comment and it was quite old. I don't recall seeing any discussions about this in these forums (my memory is terrible, though) and I can't find anything by searching. Has anyone tried using voice controls and, if so, how successful has it been? I'd be interested mostly for airline controls; stuff like getting "after landing" cockpit clean-up without having to come to a full stop on the taxiway to do everything.

A32NX /.....I am happy with realistic turned on and in the cockpit the turbulence that is felt but when i go to the outside view during that episode the wing flex is Minimal if any. When turbulence is heavy in cockpit I want those wing flex's going crazy as well. Any suggestions

Just wondering what you guys are running on your systems? i have had mine switched on for a while thou noticed when flying into Toronto the CN tower was and city buildings were melted.lol Thou I have Brisbane and Sydney city and also airports and look fine. thanks mike

I was running out of space on my 2TB XPG 3400 MB/sec gen 3 nvme (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07TY2TN64/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1) , so i opted to go for the 4tb 7400 MB/sec version upgrade. (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B2FSKTHK?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1) I run the sim exe on the C OS drive, which is also a 3400 MB/sec nvme (perhaps a factor here, being the os is gen3). Su12 load times on the old 3400 drive are 2min 21 sec for what is basically 1.4TB of MSFS data on a fresh win 11 install. Su12 load times on the new 7400 drive are… the SAME. Nearly exactly the same. I have several products that when I go to download in the simmarket app get all the way to the end and then I get a red error saying couldn't download file. Majority downloaded fine. I have an iniscene airport that went all the way through and then it installed but there is no file location and has an uninstall icon

Hi All, can anyone tell me how to stop the Fenix loading up at start up at the gate with 9000KG of fuel , this is either with a simbrief plan loaded or not , I have to go into the MCDU and change it back to 3000KG ?

Your Controls PMDG Profile Tried this out yesterday, and it worked surprisingly well. Flying jets is a team sport, and it's great having someone else in the cockpit with you. The functionality is fairly rudimentary, however, core functionality is there. I don't think it can handle emergencies or other complex scenarios (yet). Hopefully the developer continues to mature this since it's a fantastic free addon. It also appears that the host software (Your Controls) has matured quite a bit. On both these aircraft, after precisely following the provided checklist, I cannot get the engines to start using the rotary switch - I roll the switch with my mouse to start, the prop does a quarter rotation and stops and the switch moves back to the both position. No problems at all doing this with the default Baron & Bonanza they start just fine. Now I do have a Honeycomb yoke but I have unbinded the rotary switch bindings (this at least enabled me to rotate the starter with my mouse). Curiously I could, after a lot of coaxing, get the Bonanza to start with Control E (but not with the Baron). So what have I missed here? Assistance appreciated. Thank you. …

When I fly a ILS approach on the PMDG 737 vs FBW A320 the PMDG appears much higher with a faster decent… is this just me or does the 737 decend much faster than the A320 or is it just the sim tricking my eye

Does anyone know how to disable that silly logbook screen that always automatically pops up after you shut everything in the plane off? It plays some ridiculous tune and is too much like an arcade game - it takes me out of the simulation after an otherwise ultra realistic flight experience. Hi folks. First let me tell you I am using the latest Nvidia driver with a 3090. I am noticing that with a place just sitting on the runway waiting for me to do something, the GPU usage is jumping all over the place, from numbers in the 50's and 60's to numbers from 90-100. I don't know what could be happening that keeps spiking the GPU to 90-100% when the place is just sitting on the runway doing nothing. Can someone possibly help me out with this and make some suggestions, theories, etc? Thanks.

You can play the first 4 versions of FS Start in the DA62 and turn on the ELT. No idea if it works with the improvement mod, I don't use it, but I doubt it.

Since approx Christmas I have seldom been able to complete a flight without a CTD. Attempted corrective actions include multiple reinstalls, flying right after a install with no add-ons, moving it to another drive, the list goes on. I've lost track of the hours trouble shooting. Something is wrong here and I doubt I'm the only one. Sorry i sunk as much money as I did into add-ons. The only thing left is when my new CPU arrives (7950x3d) I'll be blowing everything off and doing a fresh Windows install.

Pro's: Helpful for non-computer savvy folks (maybe) Helps me manage mod updates to know if I have the latest and easier to install Con's Too many so now I have to track which one to use depending on the mod Some of them are poorly designed so they are confusing to use More applications on my computer! More Ads and marketing More User License Agreements to understand and keep track of If you have a lot of addons and you are not careful, you could buy the same mod from 2 different Addon Managers I'm curious what others think of this trend?

I apologize if this has been discussed and I just failed to find the appropriate thread, but every time I fly into a default airport I'm greeted with very low quality terminal buildings, no jetways, and no AI aircraft. I have to park and "pretend" to use airstairs at the gate, assuming the terminal building renders at all. When I reload the game to do a return flight I have a wondrous terminal building with jetways and tons of traffic and cars. I'm not sure what's causing this, but I'd love to hear solutions to this problem. I use GSX with the low airport vehicle settings, AIG at 66% traffic, and the Fenix A320. This problem does not appear with store-bought airports…

Recently experienced loss of prior exquisitely low frame time variance so cleared out most from the Comm Folder and things appeared much better at TO from KATL (PMDG 738) and this is what I saw a moment ago in the context of decent smoothness: Of note, I have AI traffic OFF, and do have GSX still in the Comm Folder, and no FSLTL. I also have REX AccuSeason out of the Comm Folder. Don't have Steam running in the background. Previously had proven GFE had no negative impact on this so it's still on. Question: For me in the weeks past the release of SU12 I’ve noticed a very obvious increase in cloud density, layers and even types. Clouds are clearly defined without the popcorn noise so often seen in the past. So for me, great, but I have noticed a 10-20% penalty in frames for all this new cloud goodness. I’m ok with that because my machine tends to run at a solid 60 frames, now it’s a solid 50 frames (LOD 100, most settings ultra, 1440p). So what am I bellyaching about? NOTHING, just asking if other folks experiences of late align with mine. TIA, -B
