Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

I read this morning that updating FSUIPC was recommended, even though I was not getting any stutter problems. I didn't see an update file, so I downloaded the latest FSUIPC install file, read the directions and it said that it would uninstall what I had and install new version and nothing else would be touched. Well I lost my key press settings. I had about an hours worth of wasted time trying to remember what I had set, and resetting them, and finally gave up and reinstalled the older version of FSUPC from my macramé backup. My question is, is there and easier way to update FSUIPC without having to uninstall and reinstall everything in FSUIPC?

I'm curious, for anyone using PF3 along with MSFS 2020 to replace ATC, how are you actually using it? 1. Let PF3 automatically handle all communications between the controller and First Office (just like MSFS 2020 AI first officer). 2. You use the hotkeys to answer ATC. 3. Use another program, such as Multi Crew Ultimate as either the first officer (he answers ATC just as MSFS 2020 AI first officer) OR you speak directly to ATC using the push to talk buttons. I prefer not to use option 2 (hotkeys) as it is just not realistic for me...

how does one open up the cargo pod doors?

Been trying a few engine failure scenarios in the Fenix A320 and it's rather inconsistent, being it manually or AP controlled. I have chosen for one of the engines to fail after V1, or at around 250 feet. While manually flying the aircraft there's no stabilization, no coherent bank stabilization using roll spoilers and ailerons and rudder, and although I pitch the aircraft down it barely climbs at medium / high GWs... If I switch the AP on a rolling coaster series of roll oscillations starts, and external views show the roll spoilers flapping, as well as the rudder.... AP rudder trim inputs are way inferior to RL data and observation of similar scenar…

I'm curious if anybody else has encountered CTD when you ignore the ATC and it cancels IFR or if you request IFR cancelation. Once I've determined it was reproduceable I just stopped using ATC. (CTD occurred when I was busy taxing to my gate and inadvertently ignored ATC therefore it canceled IFR) But then I saw that none of my takeoffs were being logged in the logbook. I've since read this is a bug if you don't request takeoff clearance. So I've started getting takeoff clearance and then just ignore ATC for the rest of the flight with no issues. Every time I load up the CRJ the MFDs are on the both engines begin spooling up (as you can see in the screenshot). How do I get it so it loads cold and dark every time? *steam version *fresh install *latest updates

Flying the Black Square Bonanza with the GTN750. Created a flight short flight plan from KHPN to KOXC. Received MGS on 750, "VNAV Unable upcoming flight plan leg not supported." Is that telling me one of my legs isn't in the database ? ? ? ? Thanks Walt

Looking for people's thoughts on these two pieces of software. Just got into VR and wanting something to keep track location and flight plans while in VR. Given both free options a quick try but would appreciate the thoughts of anyone who has spent any time with either of both of these before I make a purchase.

I just enabled HAGS to switch to FG and I get a warning message at startup from TDS indicating that I should switch HAGS off. For those of you using both, are you having any issues?

Hello! Hoping someone can help explain this issue that's preventing me from loading my custom route plans. I've created a simple route in LittleNavMap and exported it via its built-in system as a .flp file to the location D:\<install_directory>\Official\Steam\aerosoft-crj\Work_Defaults\NZGSNZWS01.flp However when clicking this route in the sim it says "LOAD ERROR" as shown in the screenshot below. As the error message is vague, I don't know what the issue is. Anyone gotten this error before and know how to fix it? Thank you! I have just re-installed msfs today, after being away from it for about six months, as it was just progressively irritating to use. Got into it after casting aside the 'Essential Packages Update' window that appeared, and did a flight. Came back to msfs after a reboot, and then clicked on the Essential Packages Update warning, but it then took me back to the window that is being verbally narrated, with options to change some assists, and then other starting settings windows appearing, which seemed to indicate that it had forgotten my controls settings for the joystick I'd set in it today, then it took me back to a blurred window where nothing was happening. …

I just installed a lot of updates from the Marketplace and now FS crashes to the desktop as soon as it loads.

I am using an i9 10850k with RTX 3090 and 32GB@4000Mhz. Would it make sense to upgrade the CPU to get better performance? I use 2k Monitor, would it make sense to change to 4K to increase performance?

I have a 7900x3d paired up with a 4070ti and when frame generation is on, I don't get any extra fps. Am I doing something wrong, or 4070ti does not support it? I have the latest driver.

Good day everyone, I've had MSFS (Steam version) installed on my system almost since it was released. Like many of you, I have tons of addons and numerous tweaks (many of which I've lost track of.) Lately, I've been getting a lot of CTDs which of course could be coming from a myriad of sources. Instead of searching for a needle in the haystack, I'm going to uninstall and start over fresh. My question is this: After uninstalling through Steam, will there be remnants remaining on my drive that I'll need to manually delete? I know this will be a long weekend project, but I only want to do it once 🙂 Thanks in advance!

V 4.1.0 SU12 Update NEW FEATURES: 1. SU12 now includes wasm for Xbox so the GNS530 panel now has a working radar unit. 2. SU12 now includes wasm for Xbox so our wasm mixture control has been added. This will keep the mixture at peak performance so you can adjust the lever to control EGT temps. 3. We are now using the 'modern version' of the propeller model. I'm currently loading my setup via a match file and everything works but FSLTL's injector app. If i run it manually from a command line it pops up without issue, but it won't do the same if called from a batch file with this command: 😧 cd "D:\Flight Simulator\Community\fsltl-traffic-injector" start fsltl-trafficinjector.exe All I get is an empty powershell window that never populates and that I have to close forceably via task manager. Any ideas?

I've had this happen with several aircraft now. It occurs as the sky darkens (today btwn 6:40 pm and 7:00 pm). The screens go dark and I can no longer continue the approach. I should add that when adjusting the brightness (menu access on PFD) and reducing the levels before it gets dark the screens stay on. Once they go blank, the menu isn't available - the only way to continue is to "turn back the time" to get the screens back on.

I love Toolbar Pushback, but I'm not getting double and triple commands from it from time to time. I'm sure it's something I'm doing in my CRJ, but no idea what it might be. Does anyone know what causes this annoying symptom?

Question regarding autopilot: How do you get the ascent autopilot to change the vertical speed its holding? As you can see in my screenshot it’s holding a 1000 fpm rate. However when I roll the ‘pitch’ wheel nothing happens. I assumed it would change the FPM. image1439×1219 251 KB

I've been using littlenavmap to build flight plans then import into MSFS for years now (mostly) without issue. However after a few months hiatus I just loaded up MSFS today and saw importing my littlenavmap routes causes total havoc. Did something in MSFS change that anyone knows about regarding the routing? I'll paste a simple route here in the post that should work (but doesn't), in case anyone is feeling interested in loading it up and seeing if it works on their end. ...Sim is stop working some minutes from started flight with the message for gpu (rtx 3080ti 16gb) overclock, overheat or driver issue... the temp was normal and isn't overclocked, any suggestions ?

When it comes to Captain Sim attempts at realistic releases, I find your lack of faith disturbing... You'd hope that they obtained licensing for this as their First Order of business!
