Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

Hi All, Hoping somebody might be able to help. Whenever I enable frame generation I get these strange black ghosting time artifacts on the edges of the screen. I've tried changing every setting I can think of both in MSFS and NVIDIA control panel but can't for the life of me find what might be causing it. I've tried changing monitors (three different types/brands), changing cables, three different drivers, VYSNC on off, changing refresh rates...nothing seems to fix it. Only happens with FG ON. if I turn FG off it goes away. The video below demonstrates - In this I'm panning quickly but its present even with a slow pan. Any ideas? …

Am reinstalling MSFS through Steam after old computer died. Upon accessing the sim, it calls for an 128gb upgrade which I am in the process of doing now. First of all I have an extremely slow internet so it takes a long, long time to do a download this size. My question is why the progress bar will show a certain persentage of completiion and then later on it will show a lesser persentage. For example, when I went to bed last night it showed 55%. This morning it was at 77%. An hour later it was back down in the 50's%. I admit that I haven't paid as much attention to the actual value as opposed to the percentage. I found the ground texture keeps refreshing around Bern Belp (LSZB) airport when flying at low altitude. When altitude is above 3,500 feet, the issue is gone. I have Orbx's LSZB addon. Today i started my MSFS and normally it comes up with the black screen and the loading circle first that took most of the time 30sek. to 1min. ( plus - minus ) This time it took 3 to 4mins to show me only that black screen, so is there something wrong on my side or could this be a Server thing ? I had this some time short before the last SU12 update and after the update it was gone and now it is back again - anyone else seeing such a issue ? Is there a solution ? cheers 😉

Can somebody familiar with flying the King Air please let me know how to access the MFDs' menu? Like is there a way to show the map Track up instead of North up? Or is there nothing which can be changed? Roland

Can anyone tell me what the 2 white lights are? I've turned off every light in the Longitude and these 2 lights still show up. I'm guessing there a reflection but from what I have no idea. Thanks for any help!

My computer that had MSFS (bought through Steam) has died. Of course it took MSFS with it. I have bought a new computer and am attempting to reinstall all my stuff but having a problem trying to redownload MSFS. I downloaded Steam and can log into my account ok but can't find MSFS to re-download . Nothing in the library or any where else that I can find. Sure can use some guidance on this. Thanks. Jim

Actually, none of the Assistance Options/Navigation Aids work (i.e., taxi ribbon and routes and waypoints). I have them enabled, but I can't find any aircraft and flight plan where they work. I get no on-screen prompts of any kind. I repaired MSFS, but no luck. Any suggestions to fix this will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Willing to read from any of you users playing their soaring tasks / races... I am mostly a Condorsoaring user when it comes to simulating soaring, but I've been advocating the use of MFS for playing soaring competitions as well as familiarization with terrain and landables for pilots looking for a cool way to prepare their RL tasks. Presently I guess it is possible to use xCSoar ( probably top-Hat too ? ) . Would be great to add LK8000 and, even better, SeeYou Navigator, but xCSoar will do quite well! Has SU12 made the tasks @ Albatross mre interesting? And if so, what in your opinion has changed (for the better...)? Last, but not least, would like to …

I have tried leaning the mixture so the engine would run rough and then to enrich it a little bit so it would run smoothly again. The problem is that the engine never runs rough regardless of where I place the mixture control. (except when it is about to totally cut the fuel flow off). Thank you in advance.

Hello avsim forums guys, I have some issue related to A320FBW heat blur apu and engines heat. I had to uninstall this plane because another issues before, with older installation heat exhausts animations were ok, but no that I have installed again this bird, suddenly I have no more heat animations, not for APU nor for engines, what´s missing?, please help, I love that heat blurried animations. So I decided I wanted to buy the Kodiak through the store. All seems well. But when press buy and download. It says I'm not connected to the internet. I just finished flying for an hour...so that's not right. Perhaps I'm a ludite and don't have some setting correct but I have an internet connection. I read all sorts of posts, seems folks do have problems, some fancy too in depth solutions about setting policies and such, blew my mind. I just want to buy something. Am I barking up the wrong tree? I wasted about and hr trying all sorts of things, checking firewalls, blah blah. Nadda. Any suggestions? Help? Would be appreciated.

For the last couple of days there have been no push-back carts in the sim (for me), There are certainly many times when I find them to be unrealistic and not needed, but there are other times I can't turn out of the parking spot without them. If I press the hotkeys for a push-back (Shift-P), the aircraft "jerks" and you can tell something is pushing. I release the brakes and away we go. Pressing Shift-P again stops the push. Basically, it's working except the cart (which is now invisible) is already attached and the push begins immediately. Am I the only one experiencing this issue?

Since the last update a cold & dark start doesn't seem to function properly (on the 1st attempt). Even after choosing a ramp or gate position, FS is placing me on the runway with the engine running. I then have to exit, recreate the flight plan and reset the passengers and cargo of the aircraft (with the exact same settings). Then it usually will spawn appropriately on the ramp. The second attempt is usually successful, though I did have one instance that took 3 tries to start properly. Frustrating and time consuming... Hi all, I just finished building a new PC and I'm getting things setup. When loading in at Dublin airport I noticed the following: textureissue hosted at ImgBB — ImgBB (ibb.co) Its like the ground textures are above the airport textures. Its a default airport, no mods installed other than Vatsim and the PMDG 737. Wondering if anyone has seen this? Is it just the way things are, or can I fix it? Okay, figured it out. Turns out its a DX12 issue with AMD cards.

Hey all - just learning the Duckworks DC-3 procedures. One issue I ran into was that after engine startup there is no hydraulic pressure. Does anyone know which of the many knobs and levers activates hydraulic pressure?

I know there is a lot of chatter on this. I am interested in knowing if the MSFS 2020 "home cockpit mode" function is working as yet? If yes, (1) does it allow the user to remove the onscreen cockpit depiction; and (2) how to implement/set it up? Thank you, Brian

I have had the problem of msfs ATC stoping talking to me sometime during a flight. This issue happens about 1/3 of my flights. I have tried turning AZURE off than back on but no help. It appears to me that I will need to switch to another ATC program. I do not want to use a microphone. Any sugestions for a ATC program? I heard that FSHUD can not work with add on airports so if this is true that would be another problem for me. Thanks Jim B.
