Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

I need some help with MSFS 2020 Drone Camera set up for outside front view. I have a Home Built Cockpit with 3 TV's as my Front, Right side and Left side views. I don't need or want a virtual cockpit. When I attempt to set up the drone camera in the front of the aircraft ( PMDG-737) the plane and the drone camera are not fixed but go in different directions. I've tried setting the drone to "Locked" but it doesn't seem to work. Can anyone assist in this matter? I'm using MSFS 2020 Steam X-Box version. ( In FSX, in the "Cockpit" view, you were able to toggle the W key and it would remove the cockpit and just show the outside front view. That's what I am trying to achieve. …

Some assistance please: I have a liveries folder which has reached over 23GB in size and I want to move it to a different M2 SSD to free up space. I know I can use AddOns Linker to move a file to a different location but I want to keep the dependencies active. I have spent a lot of time setting up each livery to only load when its particular aircraft is active (e.g. a Spitfire livery would only be active if I activated a Spitfire). I'm wondering if it's possible to move the folder to the new location without having to manually set up those dependencies again? Suggestions, @Bad_T or anyone else?

Just received an update from Asobo. Hopefully it solves the reported crashes the sim has been having since SU14 was released.

I know, due to the situation in Europe maybe the question is bad/wrong, but I realy miss one of my favorits in flight simming (from the FSX/P3D days). The Tupolev 154! Just wondering what will happen if I delete the OneStore\Official folder. Will it just re-download the folder\files when I next run MSFS ? The reason I ask is I'm trying to move the Community and Official folders to a new location with a shorter folder name however having problems. I can move the Community folder without any problems which to me is the important one as it has all my add-ons. I don't mind if I need to have all the stuff in the Official folder downloaded again and when it does at least I can select the updated folder location at the same time when the installer prompts me to. Hi, I am trying to play with the A310 and I have two issues for which I opened two bug reports on the main forum: 1) Periodic stutter every 15 s, induced by CoherentGTDraw 2) Can't quit the flight and return to main menu: the sim freezes and I have to terminate MSFS from the task manager All this with empty community folder and the default traffic and Bing tiles. Can you reproduce these issues? Or do you think it's time to wipe my SSD and reinstall everything? 🙂

So I totally upgraded my scenery with freeware from Jean-Pierre Fillion, coverage many areas in Quebec. Flew a complete flight around the Gaspe peninsula, south of the St. Lawrence, to Perce Rock and south Gaspe to Sur-le-Mer, stopping at all the local airports. What I noticed were several mesh issues with raised rivers and even coastline in several areas. So I shut off all my add-ons (I use addon linker exclusively). I mean all add-ons, so I had a vanilla install. I still have these mesh issues. Sometimes the mesh pops in and out or moves, strange. Does anyone else see this, is there a fix, have I got some settings incorrect? Specific loc…

I see others' helicopters as Pipers! Even those who fly helicopters I have, like Cabri, b47, Lamas etc ...I guess it's the settings thing!? It's probably the case with other planes, but helicopters make it obvious for one doesn't expect a Piper to hover! I have "all AI and multiplayer traffic detail settings on. Is there anything else?

Hello, I just started flying the Just Flight Turbo Arrow III/IIIV and while I like that there is an EFB tablet to make things easier, I cannot figure out how to remove it and I absolutely hate that it ruins the view out the right side of the airplane because it's in the way. The manual doesn't seem to mention a way to remove it from the window either. How do I remove the EFB Tablet? Thanks

Can anyone advise how to calibrate the throttles in the Fenix, where one does not want the reverse to be part of the throttle axis? Every tutorial for calibration is about the TCA, where people are assigning reverse as part of the axis. For us humble Saitek Throttle Quad owners; where there is a button beyond the axis, for reverse, how can we set the calibration up? I've had lot's of trouble with this; mainly thrust levers being stuck in reverse during engine start, after multiple configurations. I just want no reverse on the axis - surely that's possible; not every one has a TCA?! Thanks in advance.

The updated scenery is causing major stutters and several texture loading issues for me. Otherwise, it looks fantastic. I am using an Xbox x. Anyone else having similar performance?

Hi all I've had a bad week with the sim, poor frames after the update, stutters and choppiness, spending time tweaking until my eyes are red, analysing the FPS graphs, main thread etc. I have a decent gaming laptop and have always enjoyed 45FPS and fairly smooth with small amounts of AI traffic. No problems before this week. The performance drops off a cliff after about half an hour of flying. One thing I was wondering could be a culprit, the tablet on the PMDG. I have tried flights with it on and off, and seem to have a choppier time with the moving map. But I cannot say for sure, whether I'm imagining things. Having done a few flights with the new mesh, initially I noticed little difference from the default mesh in the areas I was flying. The Mendips and Quantocks looked little different to me. However the first place I noticed a massive difference was flying in the Malvern Hills - probably because I've flown over them dozens of times in MSFS and in real life and know what they really look like. Snowdonia looks very nice as do the Lake District and Scottish Highlands though coastal areas are a little disappointing ( though I use Taburet's addon for these, so no big deal for me). I always install the latest driver with no problem. However, after installing the latest driver 546.33 , my Reverb G2 would not connect and the mixed reality says my graphic card, which is 4090 RTX can't run the mixed reality portal. I remover the driver and reinstalled the 546.29 driver. The VR is working again. Not sure why VR did not work with the latest driver

I use the Internet Download Manager (IDM) program to download just about everything. Should I use it for the initial MSFS 2020 download? From researching the MSFS download and install process, it looks like IDM would interfere with the unique way that MSFS is downloaded and installed. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.

I bought MSFS on Steam, and because I didn't have enough storage on my c: drive, I told it to install on my f:. So it installed about 1.6GB on c: and then the community and official directory on f:. Now I want to move it to an SSD drive, but when I go on Steam and tell it I want to move the install directory, it only moves the data that was installed on the c: drive, not the community and official directories that are on the f: drive. Can I just copy the f: directories to the SSD drive? Doesn't Steam need to know where those directories are? Thanks for any help.

Hi am experiencing very long load times for third party aircraft I installed recently (both the ATR and the SWS PC-12) Even loading from a default airport with no complex scenery (FBMN - Maun) it takes 12 minutes to load the flight from the screen where you select the aircraft and the airport. The CPU usage is also very high during this entire period. The other aircraft I have I have in my hanger takes less than a minute to load. This is very frustrating. I am running a I7 - 12700K with 32GB RAM and a RTX 3080 Ti, so there is more than enough power. The aircraft are stored on a separate drive than MSFS (both SSD drives) Once the aircraft is l…

None of my weather presets work. If I select a preset, for a nano second, I see briefly the preset loading, cloud and even some raindrops on the windscreen if appropriate, but then it clears and becomes some generic high level cloud and good visibility. Read some comments that the major issues with the PC-12 has been sorted and I decided to add it to my hanger. I know that the aileron and rudder functions are interconnected and maybe I missed something but my rudders are not working at all (CH pro peddles). If have seen RW videos where the pilot steers the plane with the rudder peddles and you van see the yoke move due to the interconnect but the only way I can steer the plane or have any rudder function is to use the yoke. The toe brakes work but it does not seem to be animated. Is this the normal behavior in the sim or how can I activate the normal rudder function from my hardware. All my calibration and setu…
