So in the regular 'Active Sky' threads, I've noticed a few posts mention that Active Sky and RealTurbulence seem to work well together. For those who have both, can you expand on that a bit? Any insight on how the turbulence settings in AS play dovetail with RealTurbulence? I assume they don't double-up on each other as that might make it unrealistic, is that an accurate statement? Or is RealTurbulence even really needed if using AS? The reason I ask is I would like to get what is considered "realistic" turbulence, but I'm unclear how using both affects "realism", or if both aren't really needed and AS alone is sufficient. Hope that makes sense. Thoughts?

Their Facebook page seems rather dead, I know not everyone loves their planes, but I rather like them. Hopefully we see further releases (would love my Turbocommander 690 again!), but perhaps they’re busy making MSFS 2024 content by this point?

  3. I have searched here and on the web for a brief, non-technical overview of AAO. I don’t doubt for a minute that it’s wonderful for the purpose it was created for, and I wouldn’t want my question to be construed as a slam on it. I just don’t understand what it’s for. I have read that “Axis and Ohs is an external application that replaces the controller (=yokes, joysticks, etc) logic in MSFS.” My question is, what does that mean and what benefit does it convey to an MSFS user that they could not get using MSFS without it? What does, “replacing the controller logic” really mean and why might I want to do that? Thanks in advance to anyone who cares t…

I've spent ages going backwards and forwards in my head whether I could justify the cost of a full size OH from CPFlight or some similar company, in the end I opted for a compromise and picked up a 32" touchscreen monitor off Ebay. It works like a charm. This week I spent making a surround panel so it looks less like a large monitor hanging above me and something that looks a little more at home in a cockpit.

What is up with the latest update. Every time I load the game from my default PMDG 737-800 it is cold and dark and nothing works.. I have to restart it every time. Also when I try to go back to the main menu it just sits there and never returns to the main menu. I have to Control Delete and use the task manager to get out of MSFS. Someone has screwed this update up....... Anyone have any ideas in how to fix this....???

  6. hello friends, im running a 5800X3D with a 4080 for the sim on a 4k TV (60hz) My settings on MSFS : DX12 DLSS3 QUALITY VSYNC OFF FG ON on NVCPL : VSYNC ON Low Latency Mode : ULTRA Frames capped at 60fps Im getting buttersmooth performance (actually unbelievable smooth) with 30fps capped x2 thanks to FG Problem is when i pop out any panel, frame rate (those 30fps) are divided by 2 and the main thread reachs about 50ms (unplayable) The only thing that can fix the issue is the remove the capped frames from NVCPL (and indirectly the fixed 60 fps) but i get a lot of tearing. Any advice on using VSYNC, FG, and popping panels ? PS : the VSYNC within…

  7. Hey there, just noticed that IniBuilds is stating on the product pages of HKJK and EGGW that these airports are not compatible when Photogrammetry is set to OFF. Any experience with this? Is it just a remark for IniBuilds to refer to just in case someone complains about a missing building on short final or are there any major scenery issues when PG=off? I can't turn photogrammetry to ON, because in many cases, I used to have like 10FPS instead of 40-60 I achieve without PG.

I have not been following the discussion closely for last several months. It seems as if MSFS2024 differs from MSFS2020 primarily in world/scenery representation. What are the fundamental differences between the technologies/methods used for scenery generation in the two sims?

I'm sure many people have come across this issue with the PMDG 777. When on the ground with cabin doors open, all of the external sounds can be heard inside the cockpit at external volume. It's like I'm standing next to an aircaft that is taking off. It's really unbearable and I had to turn all my sounds down during cockpit prep. There seems to be a post about it on the PMDG forums. It's a real immersion killer and almost makes me not want to use the 777. Any idea on when they'll be fixing this? This seems like a critical bug.

Hello everyone my name is Marc, I've been suffering from CTDs for a week now, I have pretty much done everything that could possibly be done. First of all here are my specs: CPU: intel i310100F GPU: AMD radeon RX5500xt 4gb vram RAM: 16gb Storrage: 3TB Here is a list of what I've done: 1- verified game files on steam 2- fresh windows install 3- turning XMP off in bios 4- removed all mods in the community folder. 5- reverted my GPU drivers 6- ran all CMD file checkers (even though i am on a clean windows installation) 7- ran event viewer and here are the results: Faulting application name: FlightSimulator.exe, version: 1.37.19.0, time stamp…

Currently flying the Emerald Harbor Air B307 & trying to find if it has cowl flaps, & if so, where you set them. From what I can ascertain, IRL, some airlines, possibly TWA, had them, & others didn't. Anyone know the status of cowl flaps on the MSFS B307? T45

I probably need to contact support at CPFlight, but thought I'd ask here beforehand. Really disappointed today as I went to start a flight in the PMDG 737, only to find that the MCP/EFIS no longer works since updating SU15. I get an error message saying 'airplane model not yet supported.' Has anyone else experienced this?

  17. Started by Alti,

I have just uninstalled it. The airplane is easy to fly, but not really needed for pure IFR operations: Every time you have to adjust altitude or heading for the AP, you have to zoom in a lot to see the numbers on the screens. This is not really useful. Also, the AP often does not react at all and does not hold on to the setted LNAV and VNAV values. That would still be acceptable, when de AP not does, what he should, in take over manualy (in every Plane), but I really don't like it, and that's why it's being removed from the SSD, Some of the screens are unreadable. The fonts are too thin and unrecognizable. Get rid of it! What is your experience with the…

  18. Hi, I have a few questions about the iniBuilds a300. First, is it released to the public, or just the beta version? Second, is it really worth it? I mean does it have fully functional LNAV VNAV and autopilot systems? And is it kinda vatsim friendly? I'm looking to buy a new plane and I already have the fenix and pmdg so that's why I'm asking //admin note: thread merged with "A300--is it worth it?" thread to avoid multiple parallel discussions on same topic.

  19. I have my aircraft set to hot start from the Departure Runway that I choose in MSFS Scenario set Up. However, lately, without exception, the aircraft are spawning at the opposite end of the chosen runway. I just set up a flight from Alicante (LEAL), to depart from Rwy 28, but it has spawned at Rwy 10. This is occurring across different aircraft & airports. Is there a setting somewhere I have reversed? Can anyone explain to me what on Earth is going on in this screenshot? I was conducting a quick circuit of LFRB Brest Bretagne airport in France, and during my initial turn to the south after departing runway 25L, I noticed that a couple of small sections of the terrain had really low resolution textures draped over them. So I restarted the scenario, slewed across to the same area, got the drone out, and took this hideous screenshot This is a small section of the coastline a short distance southwest of the airport. Can anyone confirm if this area looks the same on your PC? https://www.mediafire.com/view/ou3iukky7op3kg6/Screenshot_%28411%29.jpg/file

  21. After completing as flight, I'm at the arrival gate and ready to shut down MSFS, it takes a good 90 seconds or so after selecting to return to the Main Menu, then to Desktop, to get to the point I can turn off the computer. Does anyone routinely kill MSFS while at the gate to shut it down instantly, and if so, any bad effects from doing this?

So, the way that I see it there are four AI aircracft solutions; Project AI, FSLTL, PXPT and FS Traffic. I've used all three: 1. Project AI - the installation and management in the past has seemed very cumbersome. Doesn't use real time data and airacft can use all sorts of random runways, routes etc. 2. FSLTL - very easy to setup and install. Decent models and liveries. However, although it uses real time data, aircracft are all over the place; random runways, go arounds etc (makes somewhere like EGLL a nightmare). 3. PXPT - the real time data and the fact aircraft are always in the right place, using the correct runways is a major bonus. But, the interface is c…

Hi guys, After some advice...at present I use real world weather via AS for MSFS which is excellent. However, today I run into a planning issue lol... I loaded up the sim and went up to the airport I fly most from to do some VFR circuits (Liverpool in the UK) but once loaded it was absolutely clear no VFR flying today due to very poor visibility and rain. But, whilst sitting at my computer 150 miles away looking out the window it was perfect. Do you check the weather at your departure airport for circuits before loading the sim if using real world weather to stop you running into the different weather scenarios?
