Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

Hi. Total newbie here. I hope this post is in the right place. Can anyone tell me how to have an external view where you don't see your plane at all? I've seen numerous YouTube videos that show this view but I can't figure out how it's done. When I switch the camera to the external view I can see outside my plane but the plane is still visible. No matter what camera I use the plane is still there. What am I missing? Thanks in advance.

Hello all, I used to have an app which changed the MSFS2020 startup graphics and gave us a different opening screen from which to choose initial aircraft/flights/graphics/options etc. I cannot for the life of me recall the apps name but I really would like to re-install it. Any help would be appreciated. Regards Tony

Is it just me or is this constantly turning off for the past month or two? Saying not enough bandwidth or whatever the message is.

Any chance someone has the latest version of this OR 2.04 version (not sure if there is one after 2.0.6) ? all links i find are broken and i currently have 2.0.6 and have the issue with tablet not working. any help appreciated!!

Is there an issue with the 1.07 and FSIpanel not working? It worked before now it sets the flaps and thats it?

This is the 3rd Prediction. We know as fact FS2024 is going to have a PC-12 and choppers to use as Air Medic (Ambulance) to pickup or assist injured/sick people. But then I wondered the possibility of someone getting injured deep in the woods, and there is no way in via any aircraft. For these jobs I reckon you will need to fly and land at some field, get out and jump on a horse and ride down a track into the woods. Since we know as 2nd fact, first person mode is coming, I think having horseback riding is going to be doable. I also think that with the level of details that they are making at ground level, it will be interesting to go hiking on trails for an activity or jo…

Hi guys, I have quite a few paints in MSFS 2020 that I am never going to fly, both Microsoft official and 3rd party aircraft. Sometimes one model will give you 15 different paints, all with just different registrations...I don't want that. Is there a way to disable them so they are not loaded into the sim each and every time...this is a bit of housekeeping on my part. I have aircraft manager but cannot see a way of disabling paints you will not fly. Thank you..

I already had the 40th Anniversary DC-3 installed, but when I went to the marketplace today there is a package called "DC-3 Enhanced" by Aeroplane Heaven. 4 DC-3 variants including a cargo variant, 8 liveries, 4k interior and exterior textures. It was free.

Hi all, Seems this is the big "Airliner Year" as some of them have already arrived (PMDG 777-300, TDFi MD-11) and I am very happy about that as I am more of an airliner pilot as flying smaller Airplanes. There should be a 727 Frighter version coming in the near future if I am informed correctly. I also expect the FBW A380 and the Boeing 757 ( forgot the developer name ) and PMDG will probably add the whole range of 777 models. Maybe a DC-10, i also saw and read something about it once.. WOWW, what a year, and then also MSFS 2024, the flight simulator hobby seems more or less secured to me, 😍 - what do you guys think ? cheers 😉

Hello Gang and greetings. I was wondering if anyone has noticed that when you bring up the ATC menu over at EDDH, there is no Clearance or Tower option to select? Furthermore, if you select any of the four available Ground options, nothing happens. This is happening with the default EDDH as well as with addons. This is a problem because its impossible to use ATC services at this airport. Anyone else running into this? Thanks.

Hello everyone, I just upgraded to a new motherboard, cpu, and ram. After launching MSFS with my new specs and adjusting the graphics to max I noticed that my textures became even worse than before being all jagged and what not. Even on TAA at 200 scaling it still looks like how it is int he video. At this point I have run out ideas on how to fix it and I have done everything possible at this point including fully resetting my pc and re-installing the game twice. I noticed there is a new graphic option Nvidia reflex low latency, I dont know if camem with SU12 or before, but I want somebody explains what is it for, and the best setting for it. (I am using a NVidia GForce RTX 3060) Thanks

I’m curious if the new sim’s tech will produce better looking ortho scenery from above. As in more consistently colored grass, roads, etc with the new tech building up rocks on rocks etc? It would be nice if it could take the streamed grassy fields or roads and color correct them into something consistently colored - for example the area south of Midway in Chicago would go from its greenish cast to “better”, and the occasional sections of more tallish brown textures in the midst of summer would be summer colored. No idea if that’s how the new tech works…but it’d be nice.

First off this was an addon with amazing potential. It had a great visual model, it used the default Asobo G1000 gauges when left not that much to model in a newer automated aircraft. Where it fell short was the sounds and flight model. The default sounds that came with this bird were so bad I hangered it holding on to a promise by the developers all reported issues would get addressed. That I believe was almost a year ago (shortly after it's release). Hey all! What setting would you recommend with a g-sync compatible monitor, running DX12 with FG? 1) TAA? DLSS > DLAA give blurry 2) V-SYNC on or off? And in NCP? 3) Lock frames? Or leave unlimited? If you lock, do you lock in NCP or using RTSS? Any other suggestions? Also for some reason, I am getting a LOT of shimmering...And I also starting using HDR....Could HDR cause shimmering? Cheers! Wow, not sure how I missed this one. Has to be a recent thing as the YouTube video only went up about two weeks ago: Picking it up today from Orbx. Shortly after he released CYYJ Victoria (another great package), there was some talk about putting together something like this. As a helicopter and float fan I can only say this is one of the most welcome scenery releases I've seen in a long time. The spots covered - and there are plenty of them - are disappointing in the default scenery, to say the least. Landable Coast Guard ships, sad default heliports brought to life with a high degree of realism, and areas hugely neglected in the sim so far. Great job R…

I have some questions related to MSFS2020 vs MSFS2024. 1. Can both platforms (MSFS2020 / MSFS2024) be installed and used on the same PC and why should I keep MSFS2020 if I get MSFS2024? 2. When using MSFS2024, which MSFS2020 platform features/functions will I miss, if anything? 3. Can I use Free Flight in MSFS2024(pick an airplane, load simbrief data and fly the route to a destination) and what will I miss from MSFS2020? 4. If all MSFS2020 platform features/functions are ported over to MSFS2024 + MSFS2024 improvements, why do I still need MSFS2020? 5. Will new updates to MSFS over the next 4 years as announced also be added to MSFS2024?

If you setup custom external camera views of the PMDG 777-300ER all you get is a hollow shell - the cabin internals of the aircraft can't be seen through open doors or windows. Looks very odd compared with other airliner aircraft in the sim including the PMDG 737-800 where this is not the case so why the change?. If you want to have cabin internals visible from the outside with the 777-300ER you have to use the drone. Bruce

Installed FSX and downloaded VRS Superbug and Tacpack which I got in 2015 (don't go to secure.softwarekey.c*m in your purchase email as it always asks you to pay for "Renewal & Upgrade", just go to their support forum and the installers are there to be downloaded, no additional charge). From my POV, we haven't seen any sophisticated military aircraft available for MSFS (probably Dino's F-35 is an exception but cant be compared to the great VRS). It's a drawback really when Microsoft decides not to support armamant equipped addon in their platform. Hi there, Can a kind soul help me use/calibrate my Airbus TCA throttle/reverse, flaps and spoilers for the TFDI MD11? I’ve searched their discord but I’m having a hard time finding a solution. I admit I’m calibration-challenged in MSFS ever since I left P3D, so an easy explanation, maybe with a screenshot or two, would be wonderful. Any recommendations regarding throttle, reverse thrust, flaps and spoilers for the Thrustmaster TCA Airbus throttles would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, Pete
