I know, there's probably a ton of similar topics lately on Avsim. Just needed to vent a little. I'm getting this message pretty much every flight, sometimes several times per flight. It happened in the current flight and I had to go to menu=>data and turn bing data world graphics back on. Took a few minutes for that to happen. It's just such a nuisance... Is there anything that can be done about this from a user perspective? I'm using a VPN, does that influence things? Should I have it off?

Sorry if I missed this, but I seem to have seen somewhere that the new (IniScene?) built-in version of Farnborough is designed to show the air show, but only on the actual air show dates? Is this the case? I've tried setting the appropriate date within the sim but I'm not seeing anything other than the basic airport. I already have the BBD version, which looks pretty much identical to me, and I'm trying to decide which one to use in future. If the new built-in version includes a working air show, great, but otherwise it feels a bit too clever for its own good. Of course if might just as easily be that I'm too dumb for my own good <grin> If anyone has …

Hi everyone, I'm using version 1.1.0.3 of the TDS GTNXi with the pro upgrade. When using simbrief for a flightplan, I'm often getting locked / invalid waypoints. When I was looking into this, it seems it occurs when the simbrief plan is using waypoints that the TDS doesn't have. However, since I have the pro upgrade and all my software including the TDS is up to date with the latest Navigraph data, this should not be an issue. Has anyone else had this with the upgrade? I thought that was supposed to solve any AIRAC data discrepancies. And, while we're at it, how do I get rid of locked waypoints please and thanks?

I wonder what is the best way to land the plane, particularly the Fenix A320 using keyboard only. I know F1 will put the thrust to idle during "RETARD" callouts, and I have my REVERSE THRUST binded to "/" but I don't think this is enough to land the plane successfully as you also need to apply brakes, and also be able to control pitch/rudder and I'm not sure if those controls are bindable to your keyboard. I was thinking of binding the brakes to the spacebar, so the longer you hold it, the more stopping power it gives, just like how it is on the xbox controller when you press the "X" button.

The Asobo The guy who made the popular "pushback toolbar" app on fs.to also makes a Shift-Z text based display. The same guy made it for FSX years ago. It has a text based options text to let you display whatever you want, leave out what you don't. And to make the readout size anything from teeny tiny to huge. And it also adds a hotkey to turn the Asobo cockpit cam HUD display on or off. This app is accessed by an icon in the overhead toolbar of MSFS. One of the options is to display Lat Lon coordinates continuously, as you fly. Only the coordinates, or in combination with things like airspeed, altitude, heading, sim rate. It is very configurable. You can change…

Greetings All, I ran into an issue where the Oculus Service will cause the sim to crash near the end of loading. It took a while and some searching to find the issue. I wanted to pass this on because it happened again yesterday after an Oculus update. Regardless if you use VR in sim or not, the sim could crash if you have Oculus software installed. This appears to be centered around windows 11. If you are on windows 11 and your sim suddenly starts crashing, open the Oculus Debug Tool and select "stop services". Run the sim and see if it actually loads. I use VR with DCS, so I wouldn't uninstall Oculus, but use the tool to stop services before starting the sim until i…

Hi, I'm trying to start MSFS, but getting a CTD during update. It gets to around 80-90% of the progress bar, then just shuts down without any error message or similar. I tried to verify the files and deleting the cache files in appdata. Other than the base game and official terrain updates I only have a few aircraft and airport mods that I have had for a long time and they have not caused any problems before. Any suggestions on how to make it work?

In Windows 10, whenever I turn on HDR mode it seems to make everything blurry, especially the text. Is this normal? Trying to run MSFS in HDR mode to see if there's any improvements.

I made the mistake of trying left CTRL and F10. The view couple of times. Now I can't get my view back to where it was. Do I have to reinstall the aircraft or heaven forbid, MSFS?

I would like to create a FP to fly from one POI to another. Do any of the FP programs allow you to do this. Say from their map view? Thank You. Bill McCracken

Hello Would anyone know if there is a way to start a flight in MSFS with Tobii eye tracking turned off by default? Currently on arrival at the 'Ready to Fly' screen the view is jumping around all over the place. I don't tend to use it until I have the aeroplane moving, but still would like to be able to enable it when needed during taxi or in the air while hand-flying. Thanks

There was a mod posted a long time ago about lowering the Captains eyepoint on the A 320. I just had to do a complete reinstall for an issue I was having, and lost that setting. Does anyone remember it?

Is there a way to map a key on my keyboard to set the heading bug in the direction I am currently flying? I have tried "SET HEADING BUG" and "SELECT HEADING BUG". Maybe my memory is failing me, but I thought I could do this in the old days of FSX.

Does anyone know a lightweight app that can be connected to FS for showing the airport map to be used for taxi purpose? should be very useful to display it on a tablet or in the EFB of the aircraft (I use Fenix A320). LittleNavMap (not so lightweighted) can be connected to the sim but can't access to it from ipad or aircraft EFB. Thanks so much in advance

I've looked at the various tube-liner training/practice missions/utilities available but most look to be poor value or limited in applicability. Right now some of the VA Systems STAR missions are on heavy discount right now so I took a gamble on the JFK and Heathrow STARs. You get a set of missions in the Custom Content menu, in fact you get a LOT of missions, though in truth you get half a dozen STARs, each one with half-a-dozen standard weather preset options, and the whole lot is repeated for each of the default A320, 747 and 787. If you don't have the 787 the missions will clutter up your menu but you can't fly them. The mission loads you at TOD just befor…

I have achieved liquid smoothness at relatively a low frame rate, in all planes I use (PMDG 738, AS CRJ700, B78X, TBM930), everywhere including the most complex departure AND arrival terminals. It is rare now to get even 1 stutter anywhere from gate to gate and this includes during taxi, turning and all AI and ground traffic are ultra smooth--GSX Pro objects still gets the occasional stutter. All settings on Ultra, system specs in signature. Known Possible Limitations Probably need a Gsync display, though perhaps Freesync will work for this as well. I don't use VR, so this may not work well there because this method allows for relatively low frame rates…

Hi there, is it possible to control FCU (heading, speed) and Overhead lights and other stuff like spoiler increse/decrease via FSUIPC? I've assgined the basic commands (flaps, spoiler toggle, gear, parking brakes) but there is no way to control FCU (heading, speed) and overhead lights (taxi, runway lights). Here is the deafault keybinds https://kb.fenixsim.com/useful-default-keybinds Do you know a script that can handle the FCU and other commands and assign it to a specific keyboard shortcut? Thanks so much in advance

https://tukanflightsim.com/ Not affiliated with the dev, but this looks stunning, and significantly better than the Aeroplane Heaven version. The developer just activated their website within the past 24 hours. Coming presumably in the next month or two at the most for MSFS.

Fly X Scenery has just released Jersey Airport for MSFS: https://fselite.net/content/fly-x-simulations-releases-jersey-airport-for-msfs/. This is the third release for MSFS as I believe their first release was Teeside International Airport for MSFS and their second release was Kefalonia Airport for MSFS. What's interesting is this is 3 releases by Fly X Scenery in a row for MSFS. Another interesting fact is that UK2000 already did Jersey Airport for MSFS back in 2021, but Fly X Scenery still decided to do a version of Jersey Airport for MSFS, in spite of this. According to their Facebook page, they used to develop scenery for X-Plane: https://www.facebook.com/FlyX…

I had previously switched off Photogrammetry as buildings always looked melted. Turned it back on in the hope it would be fixed and buildings still look melted, even with the new update...?

Currently, payware developers may host a Live Stream on YouTube to announce new Products etc. Such as Inibuilds just recently. I'm predicting a major new feature in FS2024, that developers can instead host Live Events, In Sim. What it means is that in multiplayer, there is a scheduled event, such as in a large hangar somewhere, and simmers can fly in to that airport (or just start there) walk inside, meet some other simmers and watch the event In Sim. The presentation could be an actual in game person speaking and/or a video playing on a large screen. I also predict that at some point (maybe FS2024) that a flight sim Expo will be held virtually In Sim, and you h…
