Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

Hi all I like flying with the Map Mod for MSFS. I think it gives crisper textures in the distance, better mountains and an all round nicer flying experience than default. However, one downside is that the terrain seems to be varying colours, with light and dark patches . I guess the default sim does a good job of evening all the colour transitions from one area to another so you don't notice anything. Is there anything I can do to lessen the problem? I usually fly with the Bing setting, although I find Google has the same issue. Just a case of live with it if I want to use the mod?

For those who have had a chance to trial 2024 in the alpha program do you have a sense of how PAX loading and pushback might be? TBH while I've used GSX since it debuted for P3D and use it now in 2020 I find it 85% annoyance and 15% positive. My sense is Umberto did as good as could be done presumably for 2020 but again, for me it's almost a net loser. So I'm wondering if there is any kind of PAX loading in MSFS 2024. I'm guessing pushback is going to be at least as decent as is 2020 and hopefully is improved some. I hope this is OK in the MSFS forum... if not, then admin please move accordingly. I use a headset/mic 99% of the time and get on very well with the setup, however, I would like to be able to offer a similar headset to any friend who may want to join me on a flight. I have done a few searches online to see how I can enable comms between the two headsets, but so far I have been unable to find a successful way of doing it. It appears that it can be done, but is bit of a faff and I'd need some specialist kit or software (?) Is there anyone who can offer a simple and starightforward way of setting this up? Help appreciated.

Hi All, I have been having a really weird issue with the Fenix lately that even their support can't track down. I can start a flight with zero issues and whenever I get to my destination and park at the gate something triggers the aircraft to completely freeze up, for instance I can shut the engines down and the switches in the cockpit will go too the "Off" position and the engines keep running sometimes the displays show minus values but just keep running, at this point the aircraft is frozen but the sim keeps running normally, I can manipulate the heading or altitude dials but the displays do not reflect the change, I can move my TCA side stick and the actual fligh…

I was experemently planning a flight from KBOS to PANC with the PMDG BBJ2, however Simbrief offers one default and a profile to the PMDG. When I use the PMDG profile simbrief says that the aircraft exceeds it's range. With the default profile it spit out a working flightplan. On which one should I rely here?

Anyone has a problem with this? Yesterday I updated to the lates version from Oct 10. and can't connect to other pc or iPod.... Thanks

Terminal charts page is stuck on “Loading Chart”. Followed the exact steps to load charts in the EFB. The IFly 737 Max is linked to my Navigraph account. Anyone else having this same issue?

I had read someone else once experienced this but no answers were revealed so hoping someone knows a fix. When in MSFS and loaded up if I switch applications so say a browser, OBS if streaming or sayintentions.ai app it causes the sim to freeze. The sound is still there but everything stops working. If I then alt ctrl del and then hit escape the sim will load back up like nothing happened. Any ideas?

Are there any addons available that add refineries across large areas (for example, the UK)? Despite not being a big fan of PG close up, I have installed a couple of standalone packages of this nature, and they look quite convincing at a few thousand feet altitude. I guess that an entire UK package would not really be feasible, considering the disk space required for these PG addons. Nevertheless, I am curious to know if any (freeware or payware) are available. When flying the Longitude I usually import or create flight plans without the approach - I prefer to add these during cruise in case the weather at the destination has changed. I've had no issue when importing a flight plan which included the approach. The TODs were correct and VNAV worked well. However, when I added the approach afterwards, VNAV brought me in way too high... once over 10,000' high and over 20,000' too high on another occasion! Apparently, if the arrival/approach is added in flight, the destination airport waypoint is not removed from the enroute list. Hi , i noticed i have the bug where 50% is deployed going in the menu via ESC and back. In the PMDG777 flaps isnt moved fysically but when using flap lever it goes direct to F15. I'm trying to figure out how to compute the appropriate vref speeds for the Longitude. I've been looking at some youtube videos and they are all over the place. From110 to 160. I've seen approaches with an AOA almost in the red, plane floating down the runway, bouncing up and down like an electric chicken before settling down. That all can be right. Anyone purchased the B-2 (from the marketplace)? It looks really good honestly and I'm really curious about. It seems to use the G5000 in the background somehow but the avionics look fairly authentic. And the modeling and textures look superb.

As I continue to polish things up with this remarkable aircraft I experienced something new. I was shooting the RNAV Z 21 approach into KCEZ (Cortez, CO) and was just crossing the threshold. The annunciator suddenly went off yelling "too low" and "pull up". Of course I was low.. I was landing. (Gear was down with full flaps). Anybody else experience this?

I have seen the videos for prerelease but have not seen reviews. I am looking for someone that has bought this and compare it to the EDDF posted on FlightSim.TO? Don't want to invest with out understanding the value.
