Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

Just purchased and can’t get it to install properly. I mean files are put in folders but the plane does not show up. I am stumped and I’ve never been stumped before and I’ve installed HUNDREDS of software assets for MSFS 2020 previously so I thought a thread might be needed. One thing I notice is the installation is built for MSFS 2024 and that by itself is a cause of most of my woes. Anyway, can someone assist me in installing this plane. I want to fly it, not install it 😎😎😎 Thanks, -B

I see YT videos and magazine articles saying the CriCri is/was the smallest plane. Which alone makes it a worthy purchase. It has been unavailable for awhile but the author is fixing his store to make it be there again. ATS also made the AN-2 along with Microsoft.

I spent $131+ to purchase a digital copy of MSFS2020 and for months, close to a year now， I could not used it or able to do updates via my XBOX app on my laptop. I contacted MS many times, submitted many crash reports but no viable resolution to my headache. I got disappointed, frustrated and chose to fully focus on X-plane 12. Does anyone have the same problem with MSFS 20?

I do have an older card, RX570. dxdiag shows I have DirectX12, and I can run 2020 using Dx12, so I'm not sure what (if anything) I can do. Any ideas?

I was considering buying the AS A330 until I read reports and watched some youtube previews on the aircraft, which has changed my mind. I am now thinking of the recently released LVFR A330-200 but similar reports and reviews seem to be lacking. Can any user of this aircraft recommend it or does it fall short of expectations. Steve

Hi, It is still confused how to use VDGS and/or Nool. When I arrive to the gate I expect to see the distance changing until I see a STOP on the guidance monitor. I can never see this. What's wrong?

I was very excited to find in my email inbox this afternoon, about the release of MK Studios, LEMG Malaga Costa del Sol Airport. I thought I'd put together a very quick, initial overview video of the airport. This is a not a detailed review, just my very first impressions of the scenery. I may very well put together a video next week that looks at the scenery in a little more detail. I won't say anything else, but leave you to make your own mind up, only to say, that I think it will generate quite a few opinions.

For some reason, and I'm sure it's finger trouble somewhere along the line, but after creating a flight plan in Simbrief and then importing into the PMDG 738, BATC reads the flight as Airbus653 and not Boeing. Does anone have any idea what the issue may be? Cheers.

Amazon has the steel box premium deluxe edition for the same price as the MS store's regular digital download, from the xbox store. If you like collecting software boxes (what can I say, I still have the Orange Box 😉 ), it's a good deal. Also noticed that the MS preorder page is kinda funny, because the limited aviator edition that comes with the AN225 diecast model shows an AN124 model in the box. 😉

Hi ... with a view to saving space on my SSD,(C drive) moved the Packages folder to an external drive and linked back to SSD ... only, when I started the sim having done that, was confronted by a 160 something GB update ... am awaiting a response to this message before running the update, as have a gut feeling the two things may be incompatible ...???

I do not seem to be able to fly the ILS 07 approach at ENML Molde in FSiPanel. It should be easy to set up, and yet I always have to engage LNAV and VNAV to get my plane to capture the glideslope. In other words, I end up making the approach with LNAV and VNAV. It never seems to capture the ILS signal. I am using the ORBx version of ENML Molde.

Although not the purpose of the tech alpha, we do see some of the new capabilities of the sim that will be available upon release. I have made a quick comparison of the takeoff phase (in both zero wind and strong crosswind conditions) and some stalls in both sims. The video starts with a takeoff in zero wind conditions. MSFS2020 is set to the realistic turbulence preset. Note the improved ground "traction" in 2024. As I fly over, you get a look at a quarry. I reinstall msfs 2020 and since then msfs2020 autofps not working right. In the "connection status" simconnect" stay red. I uninstalled and reinstall and still no go.

As much as I appreciate the better terrain and water rendering, in all the videos I am watching I can spot the old MSFS problems, such as stuttering*, black lines, terrain morphing, shadow flickering, etc... *Regarding the performance, didn't someone mention up to 5x faster than MSFS? So much for a totally new graphics engine. I also don't believe that these issues will be fixed in the future, considering that they are present since 2020. Having said that, I can't wait to put my hands on the new sim and I already preordered it. Hopefully we will have a totally new sim in 2028 after the new consoles are launched. All my Bendix/King/Collins Radios have a weird oversized font. like the numbers on the old ADF/ Transponders. How do I get the proper fonts??
