Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

Well I downloaded the Alpha but it sees my joystick but when I try to save settings and load flight it reverts to mouse control. I can't save it to my Logitech extreme 3d pro. Any ideas?

I just had a real flight in the Otter (DHC-3) seaplane and i am hooked! This was the single engine turbine. In MSFS 2024 it looks like the twin otter will be standard. Is this plane being developed by Aerosoft?

Can't seem to get the ILS to work. Selected a valid ILS frequency and ensured the GNS430 is on VLOC but nothing. Tried 2 different airports. It doesn't appear to pick up ILS frequencies. Does pick up VOR's though. Any ideas?

I use Ideal Flight 10 in FSX and it keeps you on your toes monitoring the whole flight and procedures. At the end IF10 provides lots of plane and flight performance stats and gives you an overall score for the flight. Is there a good program for FS2020 that does similar?

I was surprised to see KSEA from FeelThere available for purchase from Flightsim.to when I was checking out new files. I hadn't heard this was coming. I've just been using the stock KSEA with the ianthehippo enhancement (fixes the Alaska hangar and some other details), which is a pretty decent representation. I've seen all the negative feedback about BMW/AMSim's version, so I hadn't considered that one. Anyway, I'll be curious to hear folks' impressions if anyone picks this up. I live in the area and fly out of KSEA, so definitely interested in a detailed version if it doesn't kill frame rates, has decent AI parking, etc.

Not sure I understand how this works. I understand what it does (according to the manual), but when I use it I'm not sure the plane is actually doing anything. If I don't have the autopilot on, then it switches to Roll and Pitch mode, but doesn't engage the AP. If the AP is engaged, then it briefly displays LVL and then switches back to ROL, and disengages the AP. Is it broken, am I doing something wrong, or is it working as intended?

I'm using FSHud as injector and I can choose from FSLTL or AIG.. I have both set up and have tested both.. neither is bug free.. FSLTL: 1. Nav lights work at night and make for pretty plane spotting at night.. nice strobe/nav light effects for distant AI in the night sky.. 2. FSLTL sometimes can become unresponsive with FSHud (happened in 2 flights to me). Also AI behavior is wonky at times. 3. Live traffic means I cannot fly at night time when airports are closed.. have to depend on real time schedules.. AIG: 1. Offline traffic - so I can fly whenever and wherever I want.. bgl based injection and not live traffic..so that's convenie…

Started seeing this today, Anyone know what this is and whats causing it? Its happening everywhere now, each time I load into an airport its all black around.

I am experiencing a problem with the PMDG 737-600. I selected an approach in FSiPanel, and when I was configuring an RNAV approach to runway 06 at ENAL Alesund Vigra, I noticed that all of the calculations were being done on the first officer's FMS. When the approach was ready to fly, I tried to select LEGS on the captain's FMS. Nothing. I could hardly select anything on the captain's FMS. However, I could use the first officer's FMS normally. Have I pressed a button somewhere that has switched the input FMS to the opposite one? Can anyone help?

With FSX10 it was possible to make a Favorites list in the Aircraft category, so we wouldn't have to scroll through all the aircrafts that we didn't use anyway. With allllll the aircrafts that will come with MSFS2024, if we choose ie.the Aviator version, has there been any mention of whether MSFS will give us that possibility again?

As per title, (assuming I have all of them), this constant and silent growth of AIG is impressive, they discreetly crossed the line of 1800 FlightPlans recently. I hope Microsoft/Asobo will make good use of their expertise in 2024, (I know @Kaiii3 cannot comment) hats off to them anyway for a fantastic job! One thing I always enjoy is when I fly a scheduled flight and hear ATC calling the AI traffic (with the same callsign as mine) simultaneously, that indicates I am on time!

Hiya amigos, okay this might be a silly question and maybe i'm an word not allowed but: Orlando. The wind was from the right, so the aircraft was compensating on approach. but then on landing the autopilot did not disconnect, and also ignored all my inputs to the left -> i ended up eating dirt Now in the 737 Tampa, one hour later. The landing was against the wind indicated, but actually the wind was all over the place. a/p disconnected before touchdown, the end result was much better though. would a real 787 behave as in the first video? should I have disconnected the a/p manually? why didn't it disconnect automatical…

I am aware of the advertised differences of the amount of aircraft and hand crafted airports quantities between the versions, but I was wondering if there could be any difference under the hood between each version? For example could the standard version not include things like ship traffic, seasons, less career options or animals? I don't mean these specifically but just to give a general idea of what I am getting at. I have the premium deluxe edition of MSFS 2020, so I don't know if there is currently any difference between this and the standard version of MSFS 2020. During SDK Dev update, they mentioned that SDK will be released 21 Oct as ALPHA version. Now they are asking users to sign up for tech ALPHA test version. we have merely 40 days to official release date, is this time enough to test ALPHA, then BETA then RC and finally a final release version with in this short time? Am I missing something?

For the first time in my MSFS career (admittedly only eleven months), I am experiencing the "bandwidth too low" message (followed by a laughable suggestion that I should use offline mode). Granted my connection is a pathetic 18Mbps at the moment, but MSFS has been working fine for the three weeks that I have lived in my new home. However, tonight it is an absolute mess. Loading takes longer than normal, and then I am greeted with terrain graphics from the land that time forgot. Very annoying Is anyone else experiencing problems this evening?

I haven't had any ai traffic (FSLTL or AIG) at my destination airport for some time. This happens when using FSiPanel STAR approaches (usually starting 80-100 nm distance to the destination). What am I doing wrong?

Hiya, had anybody any success with mapping 787 eicas (map/plan and menu items) with spad or fsuipc? Clicking them does not seem to produce any events or lvar changes. Some for ecam items but that's less important.

It will be on Oct 10. Despite the "unrealistic" P-38 sound (only the sound, the rest is brilliant), no MSFS warbirds have ever come close to their standards 💕. I was about to post the trailer. Unfortunately their video is removed by Youtube due to this censorship nonsense. Clearly someone gets offended by history 🙃
