I played the FS2024 all weekend long and of coarse that ended. Launched FS2020 today and was greeted by a new mandatory update. It is huge like 564 + or - files and it's taking forever. I was not aware of an update for today in FS2020 and not mentioned here on the forum. Anyone else get one? It's like it's installing the game again. If I am lucky it might be done this evening! Kind of annoying as all I wanted to do is brouse the new iFly Max 8.

  2. As the article stresses this is the Alpha but still...an interesting read. https://www.tomshardware.com/video-games/pc-gaming/microsoft-flight-simulator-2024-sucks-up-to-180-mb-s-of-internet-bandwidth-while-in-flight-equivalent-to-81gb-of-data-per-hour

I dont't know if I'm the only one, but isn't the FBW A32N somehow lacking the immersion factor a bit? It's a great aircraft and it's totally and appreciate the creators very much. Still can't precisely what is it, though it does not seem to give the same feeling as even the ini A310. I apsilutly love the PMDG 738, it's such a nice flying and reliable plane, never let me down. I've taken it to the weirdest places with the most bizarre approaches. I like the 777 too but that's a different story. 🙂 So i'm thinking if i get the full A319-20-21 package for Fenix is it going to be more like it? Or perhaps i'm just a boeing person? 🤔

  4. For any painters out there who will be undertaking the task of painting liveries for the new iFly737 Max. Could you please seriously consider "Freedom One" for Southwest. I understand it would be fictional and not realistic. Could be a Paypal tip for it too. Much Obliged. PS: I have posted this on the discord for Flight 1 and iFly. Cheers!

  6. I've started to fix little things in the sim. I've modded other games like Arma in the past, and I would like to know what some people think are problems that are often overlooked. Having got into the sim recently, I was discouraged by how the water runways were usually broken. Despite how accessible the scenery editor is, terraforming water airports had a lot of caveats and water taxiing bridges was a disaster. I was pleasantly surprised that MSFS had a lot to showcase with huge water improvements, and other stuff that showed they reached out to parts of the community, like the glider focus. If I start to release some addons, how do you think I should get feedback? …

  8. Well, we are seeing some live streamers stream the iFly 737 Max today. Coupled with that, this is what Randazzo said about the PMDG 737 Max: Congratulations to iFly, I hope they make a lot of money with the 737 Max when they release it for MSFS.

  9. What is everyone's FSLTL traffic settings for mid to low range PCs? What would be a good amount of IFR traffic/parked planes etc for a good mix of stable FPS and active air traffic? 20? 30? Genuinely curious.

Is there going to be a separate forum when 2024 releases properly? . its probably been asked before so apologies

Hello, In the beginning of this year I was using the 4090 with FG and 4K on a Sony TV with fps set at 60 max. That worked very well. I have sold the 4090 due to circumstances. Now I want to fly again but the 4090 is twice or more the money than a 4080 Super here in the Netherlands. Should the 4080 also be smooth with 4K and max 60FPS set in the Nvidia panel? Hope some can help me out with this.

I've just flown the same ILS approach on X Plane, so I know it's definitely not my fault! I have some idea what I am meant to be doing. (Cheers, Froogle!) Using the stock C172 (not G1000) and using the nav radio (not the ILS via GPS / RNAV unit approach), FS2020 is not receiving any localiser information. The approach is ISN approach into Southampton (EGHI), the frequency is 110.75 and the course is 199°. In the same aircraft - on the very same flight - the SAM VOR (113.35) is received properly and whatever radial I choose to follow is indicated. Is there something wrong with ILSs in FS2020? I must be honest in that it might be an ancient problem tha…

Hi everyone, in the last months I’ve been experiencing very frequent freezes (sim freezes, sound continues and, sometimes, it CTDs after some minutes, other times it just remains freezed untile I close it through Task Manager). I’ve not been able to understand the reason, since it seems not linked to a particular scenery or aircraft (I reproduce the same flight after some time and nothing happens). It happens randomly and almost when I descending…after a whole flawless flight Any kind of advice would be much appreciated. Thanks

  16. Hello to you all, Can anyone tell me if in the new sim, is it possible to delete all the default cities and aircraft repaints. In 2020 you can, in fact, delete all of these and it takes a long time. Similarly, it takes a long time to restart the sim also, because it reloads all that you have just deleted as a mandatory update. In other words, it is an excellent example of an exercise in futility. I know that quite a few people have had a whinge about this (myself included) and I really do wonder if this is being addressed in the 2024 version. The reason for this query is that I am now up to 1.89 TB in my 2TB HDD, given mostly Flightsim.to addons an…

I was a Beta tester for FS2020. But not going to this time. But I am already making the plans for FS2024. The latest Win 11 24H2 is reported to give some solid boosts for Ryzen CPU's. It is finally time for Win 11 ! Cleanup and backup C drive files to another drive Uninstall unused programs Backup FS2020 Community folder Completely uninstall FS2020 Install Windows 11 and latest drivers, bios etc Disk defrag Install Win 11 24H2 update and tweaks etc, including chris titus tweaks Install FS2024 Then it begins! New Nvidia GPU a bit later

  18. So, what do you guys think? Is the launch going to be pretty smooth, a dumpster fire, or something in between? I am voting either it gets delayed or is a dumpster fire. I expect a lot of problems across the board and put a release delay at 50/50 right now. I am fine with them releasing it too early, because until it gets in enough user's hands issues won't get ironed out. Super pumped about MSFS 2024 but I am a realist. No way this thing is ready in 5-6 weeks. Not in my opinion. I will be happy if the major issues are fixed by the end of the year. Long term this is going to be an amazing project (just like 2020) but patience is going to be a virtue. Great product. Awesom…

  19. Started by Lotharen,

So, with MSFS 2024 being around the corner, there are a few things I would like to practice. I'm fairly new to Airliners and wondered how do you practice landing procedures like RNAV or ILS approaches without having to start the flight at the gate? I know the more study level aircraft pretty much require that if I am not mistaken. Just wondering if there is a faster way since I have all the preflight and takeoff stuff down for the most part. Thanks for any tips/suggestions.

  20. Started by RandallR,

I'm reacquainting myself with the Longitude and having a great time with the updated capabilities (for the most part). I've run into some issues with the VNAV and approach procedures, but for now, my main concern is static takeoff procedures. I prefer a static takeoff with aircraft like this for most situations (unless the runway is quite long). I'm getting a NO TAKEOFF warning (quite nasty actually) until I release the brakes. After that, everything proceeds normally and the takeoff works well (with TO and AT operational). Is this normal and I just have to endure the "shouting" until brake release? Considering that static takeoffs are even recommended in th…

Germany, Austria and Switzerland Scheduled for today and these things normally get released at 1600Z unless MS or Asobo pull it at the last minute. WU17 was actually released early, so I do wonder if this one might be released a little earlier than 1600Z - it would certainly ease the pressure on the servers if it was. This one looks very exciting to me and it looks as if it is going to be as good as WU17.

Is it really worth upgrading from 32 to 64 GB RAM? How much RAM can FS2024 use ??
