Fright from EGNS to EIDW. Landing RW 28R. ILS tuned correctly, APP armed etc. However, autopilot not holding the Glideslope. Got very low and had to disconnect autopilot and continue manually. Any ideas?

Taxi ribbons are useful at most airports, and I use them after landing, but cannot find a way to get rid of them once entering the gate zone.- At the assistance window they are enabled but greyed out. How can I do it ?

Installing Windows 11 24H2 caused big system fiasco requiring restore - now have everything working OK again except MSFS always starts in Dev Mode and works as it should in Dev Mode. But, if I try to terminate Dev Mode the sim ALWAYS suffers a terminal error which locks up the screen requiring a program termination thru Task Manager. I cannot find a user.cfg setting or any other setting to tell the sim to NOT start in Dev Mode. How do I get out of Dev Mode?

Hello everyone, I’ve noticed that in MSFS, I experience a massive lag every time during takeoff or approach at SimWings EDDM (downwind). This lag usually lasts about a minute. I can say pretty accurately that on the GIVMI6Q, the lag always occurs at the same spot (shortly after the turn at low altitude), and on other SIDs, it always happens shortly after the DEP. On approach, I experience the same issue during downwind. The biggest problem with this lag is that my Fenix, after the lag subsides, always goes into a nosedive. This is especially problematic on VATSIM. I should mention that I’ve only experienced this issue with the Fenix A3XX so far. I can’t explain w…

So what does everybody think of the state of MSFS 2020 freeware after 4 years, on the cusp of MSFS 2024 coming out? Some notable freeware for MSFS 2020 are the FBW A380, FBW A320, FSLTL, AIG, and Headwind A330. And then there is the plethora of freeware at flightsim.to. And yeah, flightsim.to has a lot of freeware for MSFS! How does the state of MSFS 2020 freeware after 4 years, compare to the freeware of past flight simulators? Would you say MSFS 2020 freeware is stronger than past flight simulators, including FSX?

Good Evening, I have been searching high and low since I made the switch from FBW to Fenix on Monday and I have encountered an issue that I cannot seem to find a resolution to. Upon departure in the A321, passing around 40ft (AGL), the elevator starts rapidly pitching up and down. If this behavior is not aggressively handled (pulling my TCA sidestick almost full back) the issue will cause the plane to start descending uncontrollably. Additionally, in the A319/A321, during short final, this same behavior will occur (even with autopilot engaged). When this occurs, the Fenix MCDU shows that there are no inputs and that the aircraft isn't doing anything with the ele…

I fly the development version of the FBW A320. Up until a few weeks ago prior to the T/D indication I would select a lower altitude. At the T/D indication I would push the altitude knob and start the descent. Now I am finding that at the T/D indication I push the altitude knob and nothing happens. I continue to fly at the current altitude. Also the flight plan changes and, for instance shows me at several thousand feet over my destination. Not being in anyway an expert flyer, has the procedure to descend in a managed position changed? If it has can you please advise me as to what to do. I have looked at the FBW manual on their web site but cannot find any reference to thi…

Folks - the VOR OBS needle is very abrupt as a radial (or ILS localizer) is approached. Is there a way to increase the OBS sensitivity so it isn't as abrupt and late in moving the needle? Thanks - Pete

As the title says. The items that I am most interested in would be all the new flight modeling that has been done for lift, draft, wash etc. Seasons. The improved earth landscape. While I will enjoy all the new features, its those three reason alone as to why I will be moving from 20 to 24 once all the needed addons I like to use are available. The great thing is there is a huge amount of new or improved items to make the hassle of switching worth it in the end. My system runs 2020 just fine but I will enjoy the new coding to help even add more fps to the mix. The quicker load times and low foot print on the SSD will be a benefit but once again not what I would …

One of my biggest disappointments with the Citation was that while it had a great cockpit and - after several mods - flew well, it lacked a cabin, thus you never had the feeling you were actually flying a luxury biz jet. Let's see whether the PC 12 and the PC 24 in MSFS 2024 have cabins.

I've had my TrackIR 5 for close to 15 years now and it has definitely seen some use. However, I will freely admit I never really loved it. Head tracking in itself is great, close to essential in some simulators but everything about the TrackIR 5 experience was just lukewarm, to downright annoying. Wearing something on your head or having attachments on your headset, the extra wire with the TrackClip, constantly faffing around with taking that off when you were done, being afraid of ruining that fragile plastic construction and its hinges. Every time you had to put the headset down, it was with this conscious trepidation that it was done in a way that wouldn't ta…

It has been a while since i looked into this so I wanted to see what people think are the best settings in Active Sky / MSFS for realistic looking clouds formations. I found that in MSFS before AS, the clouds were too dramatic. Now that I have AS, even though I like the increased cloud layers, I feel as though the clouds aren't depicted thick enough. Maybe it is just me, but thought I'd check to see what people recommend for in sim and AS settings. My sim settings have clouds on ultra. Thanks!

I am really getting tired of these popping up. I rarely have had any issues with my system and truly believe that MS is making some changes to their servers for MSFS2024 that are affecting 2020. I'm seeing many more of these issues on various forums now that ever before. Could be a coincidence. Oh well, only a little over a week to see if 2024 has the same issues.

There is a cameras.cfg file located in the aircraft/simobjects/airplanes/'aircraftname' folder but when I copied a backup of that file back after a complete reinstall (grrr) it didn't work so I thought that maybe when a user sets up his own cockpit camera positions they may get saved elsewhere. Thanks

Will MSFS2020 and MSFS2024 peacefully coexist on the same hard drive? I was assuming it would be ok and I would only one run sim at a time but I wasn't sure if there are any known issues with this. My plan is to keep 2020 up and running while also using 2024 until such time that some (hopefully most) of the addons I'm currently flying (Fenix, most Blacksquare products, COWS DA42, Maddog, PMDG) are ported across to 2024 and working well enough. Thanks - Kevin

Can someone here please tell me what the best way I can bind certain functions of the plane to keyboard shortcuts, specifically in planes such as the Fenix A320 and PMDG 737. The less I have to pan around and select these buttons/knobs/dials/switches with my mouse, the better and more immersive I find the experience. The functions I am interested in binding to keys are: Runway Turnoff Lights Taxi/TO Lights Beacon Lights Wing Lights Logo Lights Landing Lights Strobe Lights Nav Lights Engine knob selector Fuel Tanks Eng 1/2 ign fuel cutoff switches APU bleed APU master APU start Seatbe…

I may have missed it, but I haven't seen any discussion about the the Simbrief Dispatch facility. I've just downloaded it and can already tell that it is going to transform my use of flightplans - especially when trying to coordinate between the MSFS and Pilot2ATC! First impressions are VERY favourable. Any one else tried it yet? Here's a decent Youtube of how to set it up (and, as the saying goes, if I can do it, then anyone can 🙂 )
