Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

Been plagued by this since 24H2 installed and tried everything imaginable including replacing an 8mo old Corsair PSU a few weeks ago, all to no avail. I was fairly sure something in 24H2 did this and now after two demanding test flights can say with assurance it's finally over: I restored a cloned drive done in Oct 2024 pre 24H2 and zero cutouts for two consecutive flights with a reboot inbetween. I was loathe to celebrate with only two flights as this has been quite random, anywhere from a handful of audio-video cutouts to some so frequent I had to shut the flight down. Anyone tried saving default or payware aircraft flights (takeoff, cruise, approach) then later reloading the saved flights?

Hello, I’m trying to fly the Cessna Longitude but can't engage AP. I’m flying this bird already with MSFS2020 and I do the same procedures with MS2024 ; flight stabilized, good rate of climbing, flight plan visible on the map and the computer, nav or not, ... I wonder if some flight conditions do not allow the AP to be engaged. Thanks for help

I find that "Checking for Updates" is taking much longer than usual since MSFS 2024 came out, is it just me, or are more people experiencing this?

This morning, 11 Jan 25, MSFS2020 is failing to start. Its been installed for over two years and I've never had this problem before. The system hangs while it's checking for updates, says I don't have a connection, then proceeds and the either fails to complete loading or crashes after it loads. It did load a couple of times and I was able to load an aircraft but then it crashed. Anybody having system problems? I looked into refreshing the system by going to the xbox app, selecting the FS where the option to refresh and rebuild files. Is this option a good idea? Any ideas or suggestions will be appreciated. Frame Gen/Performance in settings, empty community, stock 172, no changes to settings between sessions and no PC boot. Flying out of KBFI north over Elliot Bay and south over the Green River Valley for all three sessions. Two separate sessions this morning - . First was giving consistent 55 - 80 FPS and second to 50 to 75 except when looking at KSEA which dropped FPS into mid-40 range. 3060 Ti GPU stayed in the 85% - 90% busy with VRAM staying below 7.5 GB (out of 8 GB) Four hours later - exact same scenario expect GPU is at 100% and VRAM is > 7.9 GB while sitting on the ramp dark and cold. This just happened on the Black Square Turbine Duke. I don't have random failures set, and no failures are indicated on the tablet. Even after restoring defaults, the light persists. Any ideas?

Honeycomb Alpha yoke has 4 toggle switches. One of the trapazoid plastic knobs for one of the metal toggle switches fell off. It is a press fit and I put it back on. I'm afraid the plastic knob might fall off again sometime. Is there some brand or type of weak glue that strengthens a plastic to metal fit that is weak enough not to be permanent? Just strong enough to hold it more firmly.

I have noticed that when I go to outside view on some planes, the interior is missing unless I zoom in real close. It seems to be an LOD problem, as I can go into Developer mode and force the LOD to 0 and the interior pops up. In third party planes, like the 337, the interior is completely missing, in a default plane from 2020 (like the DA40 improvement mod), the interior is visible, but only at a low LOD level. Again, you have to zoom in to be next to the plane before the LOD doesn't reduce quality. If this is an LOD reduction for better performance with 2024, it is much too aggressive, as going into external view should not knock out the interior of the plane…

Hello, I am currently training to be a VATSIM ATC and I would like to use Tower View function within vPilot to see actual traffic in MSFS 2024. Everything works fine but what I can't figure out is how to save drone camera positions permanently and assign buttons to them, as I would do in an aircraft. Now I have to rotate the camera manually using an Xbox controller, which is a little messy. Is there a way to save, say, 5 drone positions (different angles from the tower) and cycle through them using a key? Thanks. Tomas

Made a few upgrades to the sim which included a Real Sim Gear 430 and in order for it to work for the KLN 90B, I had to get Spad. I already use Axis and Ohs. I really like the power of SPad and what it can do for my Logitech Panel but that and getting the 430 to act like a KLN 90B, I havent done anything else with it. Most importantly, I havent tried to assign the items I have in Axis and Ohs into SPad so I've been running them at the same time for a couple of days now. Most developers that offer support for integration of a GTN 750 in their panel have modelled the bezel (case, or house) of a 'normal' GTN 750 as seen here: https://www.garmin.com/en-US/p/67886/pn/010-00820-50 All the Blacksquare aircraft for instance use only this bezel. The PMS50 GTN 750 for MSFS is modelled based on this unit, so when using this GTN the bezel is accurate compared to the real unit. ATC is driving me nuts. So I am giving in. Figured I would go and give Beyond ATC a try going through amazon pay and it just tells me its waiting the pending payment like its not hitting home through Amazon pay or something. So due to that I tried a couple of more times and needless to say I cant use the product and now and I have like 3 payments pending through amazon pay. I cancelled all 3. Ok yesterday I tryed to download fs 2024 for the 10th time. All it does is get stuck at 68% every time I try. Does anyone know how to get around this. My internet speed is 1 gig. Getting ready to give up if I can't figure this out. Thanks

Are you aware of any global parameter or setting which would reduce the density of trees in MSFS 2024? I like both 2020 and 2024. I appreciate the new stuff FS2024 brings, but those AI trees are absolutely everywhere... I fly on High or Ultra. When trying to locate certain villages in Europe I feel like the early explorers combing through the jungle of Amazon looking for long lost ancient cities...

Not sure if this is a bug or what it could be, but seems like lately, I've had an issue with extending the landing gear in the Turbine Duke. I'll use the gear handle to drop the gear, but it hangs in the well and won't extend. The handle is down, but it takes several tries before it finally extends. Anyone else observing this? As an aside, I don't believe there is a means of a manual extension of the gear...

Some with ? I'm unsure of..... In total random order: Continued issues with streaming/hanging/missing data files. All menus heavily load and heat the CPU/GPU. Many controls not binding or working properly. Mouse pointer or cursor not showing. Difficult to target and highlighting aircraft hotspots. Unable to remove co-pilot. Mouse sensitivity inconsistent i.e. freelook. No 100% offline mode Area vegetation sometimes incorrect No menu music toggle? Unable to turn off/disable ATC? Unable to save a setup Free Flight? Is 'recent' all we get? Can't permanently default to a specific time of day?
