Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

Hi, I'm new to MSFS, and I've been playing around with the Horizon 787-9, downloaded from Orbx. I had it working quite nicely, but all of a sudden I lost all sounds (buttons, engines, everything) for the Genx verison. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but the issue persists. Any ideas what might be the issue? I'm on Windows 10 and they just pushed an update... not sure if that broke something? Appreciate any help, Daniel

So, I think many of us have dealt with the issue of stuck downloads while attempting to acquire Aig models/updates. I've spent about a week attempting to download, and repeatedly became stuck. So, I decided to go directly to the apparent source of the files, as listed my the model names...... This took me to a site which refused to connect, and presented me with a message saying so. Why would it be refusing to connect? I thought about this a bit, and then decided to try a hunch. I activated my VPN, randomly selected Argentina, and tried to download the files again. Aig then quickly and seamlessly downloaded all the remaining files, beginning with ones …

I purchased Drzewiecki KMDW via inibuilds and after installation it doesn't show in MSFS 2024. I verfied that it is activated (using addons linker) but only the default scenery shows. Here's a few things I've also tried: - Disabled all other addons except KMDW. - Put the KMDW folder directly in the MSFS 2024 community folder. - Ran the check airports utility to disable the Asobo streamed senery. I've also posted on the Drzewiecki forum but haven't heard anything yet.

Is this possible? If it is possible, will I be able to migrate my Premium Deluxe version, and aircraft and airport add-ons from MSFS 2020 Steam version to MSFS 2024 Microsoft Store version? Thank you in advance.

I am using ActiveSky in passive mode with RealTurb version 2. Damien stated he tuned ActiveSky turbulence with MSFS turbulence set to low. Is MSFS turbulence additional to AS/RealTurb, or is it a 'magnifier' to their effects?

Reading through the comments concerning the last hotfix it's apparent that until Asobo starts releasing public betas where the community sends feedback before official patch release, we can't expect a serious turnaround with 2024. There's no way an ambitions sim like 2024's issues can be resolved unless the consumer market (this community) has a hand in testing and QA. Too many customer internet speeds (buffer bloat in some cases), too many platforms the sim has to run on, and too many singular OS setups. 2020 turned around significantly with beta testing and feedback from this community. Decided to take it for a short hop from Lisboa to Faro using BATC and as the controller assigned me a squawk code tried to enter it but no go 🥴 Checked the NET, found the bug reported since long ago and no fix... I feel fs 2024 is a bit abbandoned... No News lately after the last Q&A... Bugs that have long been reported received no update... I don't like it honestly 😕, I mean, the way FS2024 is being supported and FS 2020 degraded... I no longer use 2020 but practically every week I read about users complainig about degraded performance and network problems? Whazzup with MSFS?

Sorry if this has been communicated but for the last 2 weeks or so, every time i go back into the sim, my settings didn't save from the last time. I fly TAA, but every time i enter the sim it goes to DLSS. Some of my other settings change as well. For example, I turn air traffic off since I use PSXT / Live Traffic but every time i go back into the sim, it is set to ultra. Has this been discussed and is there a fix? I am not sure if there are other changes to the specs but these seem to be the noticeable ones.

Many of the taxi signs are incorrect in MSFS2024. MS2020 had an add-on called "real taxiways", however I haven't seen anything for 2024. Anyone hear whether someone is working on an add-on to address this?

Looking to buy this. As the ms2020 simulation of terb is garbage. I have active sky yet its the same. Is it worth it? Thanks Mike

Hello, All the previous content from MSFS is enabled by default in “My library”, but I was reading in this post that apparently WUs can be in conflict with FS2024 specific handcrafted areas. So what should we do with World Updates (and also aircraft)? Thanks!

I'm using the PMDG 737 in MSFS 2020 Premium Deluxe on Steam. I'm told ATIS at KSFO in MSFS is not available. Can someone confirm? Why is it not available? If it is not available, what are my other options? Also, given the availability of multiple frequencies, which ATIS frequency should I use? Thank you.

Like everyone trying to force 2024 to work and get some use. I finally took a break and went back to 2020 to see if I had something setup wrong. I did not as far as I can see. The textures in 2024 seem/are very very flat to me. FPS is fine running med-hi settings but just cannot compare to 2020 I dont want to argue about all the things people have been disappointed in, me included, but just trying to see if I have something incorrect. Going back to 2020 has been a huge eye opener for me from a depiction standpoint as well as flight models but I dont want to go down that rabbit hole. Running 3080 on 65" sony in HDR on both. What is going on with MS2020 today? Start it up, go to update page, stays there for at least 5 min's. then goes to that one screen after a normal update. That take's another five minutes. Finally gets to welcome page. Notice Market Place is offline, then crash to desktop....this has happened at least 4 times this morning....come on !!!!

Hi, at the moment I started to invest more time and money into MSFS2020. In the future I definitely want to upgrade to 2024 but at the moment I still wait till they fixed most of the issues and my favorite third party aircraft’s become compatible. During my last flights I noticed that there weren’t any (or just a few) turbulence effects. The weather was pretty bad and I missed some moving of the airframe due to hefty winds. My turbulence Settings are set to realistic. The last few days I read a lot about real Turb and active sky and I am still undecided. So for a while I was very happy with 2024. I was mostly flying Fenix A319, A320 and A321. They work perfectly for me in 2024 and I have my MCDU on a touch screen as well as a Pad with the EFT on the side. Using my 4 screen setup. With Winwing FCU and FCIS. GFX Pro works perfectly as well. I was also flying the B36 and the M20 as well as a few other 2020 GA planes no problems at all. For helicopter I flew mostly the R66, I got it set up and running great. Do you all feel that Active Sky does a good job representing Live Weather? I did a flight today departing KORD and though while it is snowing a little, AS had it with 0 vis and very hard snow. I just wanted to see if maybe I had it set up incorrectly or if the weather depiction in the sim / AS isn't that great. Thanks

Have not had a 2020 CTD in like 2 years. No new mods, downloads, changes. Nothing. Won't even load into main menu at all. Crashes before I get here. Event viewers shows generic crash 000005 etc. This is the most frustrating hobby to me in the last 3 months. I have uninstalled any recent mods from 2020 or 2024. Odd. 2020 worked great like 3 days ago over a 7 hour flight. Again, no new mods. No apps. No windows updates.

The Fenix / GSX integration is so good it puts all others to shame. You load in your Simbrief flight, click on GSX fuel and pax and that's it you are done, Fenix works its magic, GSX loads fuel, cargo and pax and it actually updates the weight and fuel properly in the aircraft. All others are a mess, PMDG, INI, iFly, you basically have to run the show yourself and then make sure to awkwardly go into the aircraft tablet or FMC to update the weights and fuel. Why can others just make it work as well as Fenix?

I was just thinking out loud this morning. Since MSFS 2024 doesn't really take up any significant hard drive space, and we are so DEPENDENT on our online health at the moment we fly this new sim, wouldn't it make sense to just re-install MSFS 2020 back onto our original drive where we probably now have 2024? It seems to me that we would be able to still have loads of flying fun when MSFS 2024 is being used by thousands of simmers on holidays, weekends, and all other times when we notice a distinct slowdown in performance (I sure have, at times). The original worry that we would need more space on our hard drives if we kept both sims, appears to be unfounded! I not…
