Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

Finally decided to take the leap and install MSFS 2024, but I am still in the frustration phase trying to set up my hardware and views. The SAAB 340 looks very interesting and I thought I would give it a go but I can not get my Throttle axis (or any other axis) assigned using SPAD.next. I got the C90 (also a twin turbo) sorted with condition detents and thrust reverse but it seems like the SAAB is completely different and nothing I could think of to date could get any of the levers in the cockpit to move.😳 If there is any one out there that figured it out - please help.

Hi folks. Recently I installed AutoFPS in my MSFS2024 system. Then I started seeing mention of both Dynamic LOD and Lossless Scaling. Would someone be willing to take the time to explain the difference between these products? Do you only need one product? Do more than one run together and give you some advantage? PAPI lights are very dark and difficult to view from a distance. Is there a mod or a configuration file I can edit to increase the visibility of these lights in MSFS 2020? How are the PAPI lights in MSFS 2024?

I'm curious if anyone knows how MSFS uses the community folder. Here, after installing thousands of 3rd party aircraft models, the load time for MSFS 2020 went up by quite a bit. That implies that MSFS is doing something with the community folder at startup, but it seems doubtful that MSFS goes to local storage to literally load everything into RAM on the remote chance that something might be required. It seems more sensible that MSFS would just scan the community folder and load pointers to the things that might be needed later? This seems much more reasonable, but if this is true, then it seems (to my uneducated brain) that it takes a crazy long amount of time. Say…

For the life of me, I can't get this thing started. I've gone through all the steps, but when I hit the start button, NG doesn't rise, nothing happens. Fuel is in cutoff. Both fuel pumps and ignition are in manual. I've gone step-by-step in the manual, but the rotors won't spin after hitting START. Here's the odd thing though, it won't start when trying ctrl-E. I have hot starts option turned off and turned off engine damage in MSFS accessibility settings, but when I hit ctrl-E, power comes on, displays come on, but the rotors don't spin. While discussing the (imho) low support for button users of BATC someone on the BATC Discord said that he thinks the developer probably thinks that 99% of the BATC users use their voice to communicate with ATC and hence don't care about button control. I, as a button only user, beg to differ. Hence this little poll. (A poll on the BATC Discord would probably give a better result but I can't start a poll there.)

I spend most of my time in the Fenix mainly due to the sound, they have everything pretty much PERFECT. The details right down to the change in air temperature affecting the buzzsaw sound intensity are what did it for me. I have this display on the top right of my screen: "FPS N/A GPU 0% CPU 1% LAT N/A" Can someone please tell me what it is, and how to remove it.

So, nothing freezes, as far as non saltwater lakes, etc.?

....ie the Steam app which worked extremely well in FS2020 and in which you could set the sim frame rate to a steady 30fps with vertical sync on and the sim would deliver a steady 60fps.

I'm about 3/4 of the way done with my flight (in desc stage) when all of the sudden the plane stops responding to my controls. I've attached as short video showing me moving the stick around and moving the pedals around, but with the plane ignoring all commands. I can also turn the AP on and off, but I cannot change the values (the knob just spins but no values change). I've tried pausing and unpausing and changing screens, etc. But can't get the plane to respond to my commands anymore. Has this happened to anyone else? I can't get the elevator trim of the CS717 to behave in FS2020. The aircraft initially reacts to trim changes, then seems to compensate for the trim setting and reverts to its previous climb/descent. It's as though it's on autopilot but I really don't think it is (because I never engaged autopilot and it looks to be off). I've seen one other report of this issue, but I gather it works properly for most owners. Does anyone else here have this problem, or know what I might be doing wrongly?

Does anyone know where this resides now for the included content? I need to modify the elevator_trim_limit, but can't find the file anymore. Thanks!

I just realized my Rolling Cache was set to "0". I changed it to 150 and it says it could take "Several minutes". I have been waiting a 1/2 hour, is that normal?

I launch 2020 from *.bat file which starts the simulator simultaneusly with FSUIPC and Trackir. How can I do it with 2024 ? Thanks

I'm having some issues with the Microsoft/Inibuilds A320neo in MSFS 2024 and I'm wondering if anyone else is experiencing similar issues - or whether it's something I'm doing wrong. For some reason, I can't seem to get the aircraft to show the top of descent on the Navigation Display - and when it does, it shows far too late - sometimes as late as 3nm from my destination airport! Flying IFR, I set my flight up as normal, through the EFB and FMC. The AP follows my predetermined flight path without issue and holds my desired altitude - but just doesn't seem to want to show my top of descent.
